“This was my very first time there I absolutely love the, whole vibe it gave a speak easy New York, the drinks were a little expensive, but it didn't give me watered down..The DJ OMG!! “Ok wow! We were traveling through town and saw online that lily’s served deviled eggs. Naturally, we had to stop. Everything was beyond what we expected. Menu was limited but everything was so delicious! And the staff was hilarious and so nice. Highly recommend!“
“Love the service and service. The food is tasty. It may take a little longer to receive your food and the items come out of order and sometimes 1 at a time. My apps and sides came after the entrees but this is not a deal breaker because the server kept us updated and the food was enjoyable. I recommend this spot for a Sunday brunch.“
“Dayton Barrel Works is adjacent to Dayton Beer Company, and under the same ownership. It's got a really cool interior with good vibes and a variety of seating. We sat at the bar for a drink on a Saturday night and were surprised that it wasn't more crowded. Our bartender Keith was awesome and chatted with us about all things whiskey. Highly recommend checking this place out!“

“I cannot even begin to say enough positive things about Tender Mercy and their incredible staff. I rented the space out as a treat for my brother and his wife to celebrate with friends and family after their wedding reception. Julia and Tyler from the TM staff were so considerate about customizations for his and hers drinks, opening the space up for just our party, and being so kind to our guests. Working with them was seamless, and you can tell that they are just all wonderful people. They are experts and complete professionals at what they do. They understood that it was an Indian wedding and crafted drinks and bottle cocktails that used ingredients that catered towards the culture. They go above and beyond from the start when you begin planning an event with them. Myself, my family and friends are grateful for our experience with them. It's a memory we will never forget. “Didn't have any food so it is hard to rate. We had a great time as our visit to our local watering hole. The patrons were hospitable and the bartender was very sweet and acomidating. Even let our puppy come in from out of the car for a bit.Parking: Was able to park in the small front lot. Plenty of street parking if necessary.“

“Finding fine cocktail bars like Van Buren Room is very satisfying. I love me a good ol' nightcap and sometimes (most times) I prefer a cocktail bar just like this one. Van Buren Room exudes that classic style ambiance where you just know you'll be served some delicious cocktails by a passionate and knowledgeable bartender...and this place surely didn't disappoint. After a long workday, I found myself thirsty for a drink and thankfully, Van Buren Room popped up and so I arrived, plopped myself on the bar-seating and enjoyed the relaxing feel of the bar along with the great playlist in the background (The Smiths/Morrissey at the time). I ordered the Penicillin, Boulevardier and a local bourbon. The Penicillin was superb. I mentioned to the bartendar that I dont prefer sweet cocktails and he assured me that their version isn't like the typical Penicillin. They make their own ginger honey which to my pleasant surprise, really dumbed down the sweetness in favor of a more ginger (but not overpowering) flavor. As for the Boulevardier, another classic cocktail, spirit forward as promised....very delicious. I came during a weeknight and only the bartender was present. The bar-seating was full at one point in the evening but he managed to engage with everyone and maintain the prompt service. Just the relaxing experience I was looking for that evening and it won't be the last.“

“Great, local fare with an elevated homemade feel. Unique dishes that make you feel like you're getting something you can't get anywhere else. I had the Eggplant Fries which were deliciously crisp, albeit a little salty. The yogurt sauce and marinara helped cut the saltiness though. I also had the Green Lasagna with added chicken Italian sausage, spinach, and mushrooms which was rich in flavor but light overall. The mushrooms added on were plentiful, which almost detracted from the balance of the dish - but that's on me! Overall I will certainly recommend Wheat Penny to my friends and colleagues and will be back to visit next time I'm in Dayton!“
