“This is in response to Nancy Walters post.. first of all my job is to ask how many, 2nd - We DO NOT discriminate against single people, we seat single people all the time in booths. 3rd - I did not want you yo sit at the counter, I SUGGESTED it like I always do. 4th - you became irate about the situation and customers heard you be nasty to me. If you come back in be kind. I will seat you in a booth no problem. The food here is excellent and would love for you to eat here.“

“What a friendly place! We stopped in for lunch. Our friendly and helpful server, Billie Jo, recommended the special..fish and chips and Cole slaw. Delicious! Quick service. The food was fresh and hot, slaw was cold! Very filling, generous serving. We both enjoyed our lunch. The new floor looks great, but in the long run, will be hard on the server's backs, feet, and legs. Wood gives, concrete doesn't. But our server was a delight. We definitely will be returning! The beer is cold!“

“Meatloaf is super yummy! Highly recommend!Their Buffalo Chicken dip is not my favorite unfortunately. Tons of chicken which I appreciate and a very generous portion. However it’s dry. Usually buffalo dips have a creamy base(cream cheese) and either blue cheese or ranch added in for flavor along with hot sauce. This tasted like chicken only mixed with hot sauce. I guess I prefer other recipes. That being said I did really enjoy the restaurant. Looking forward to trying other appetizers or soups.Server was really nice as well and did a great job.“

“Chef Shack: Where Burgers Ascend to Culinary NirvanaForget everything you thought you knew about hamburgers. Chef Shack isn't here to play patty-cake with mediocrity. They're here to rewrite the burger rulebook, and let me tell you, they've penned a masterpiece. My recent visit was a revelation, a symphony of flavor that left me wanting more (and maybe a nap – these burgers are that good).First, the star of the show: the patty. Crafted with a blend of premium cuts, it's juicy without being greasy, cooked to a perfect medium-rare that showcases the inherent deliciousness of the meat. Each bite bursts with rich, savory satisfaction. No dry, flavorless hockey pucks here – Chef Shack understands the importance of a well-executed patty. But the patty is just the foundation. The toppings? A chorus of culinary brilliance. From the tangy bite of house-pickled red onions to the creamy indulgence of their signature Shack Sauce, each element elevates the burger to new heights. They offer creative and classic options, ensuring there's a perfect flavor combination for every palate. My personal favorite? The "Truffle Shuffle," a decadent masterpiece featuring truffle aioli, melted Gruyère cheese, and sautéed wild mushrooms. It's a luxurious explosion of savory and earthy notes that had me rethinking everything I thought I knew about burgers. The buns deserve a special mention. Soft yet sturdy, they cradle the burger without collapsing under the weight of deliciousness. They're toasted to a perfect golden brown, adding a hint of buttery warmth to every mouthful. It's the little details that truly elevate Chef Shack's offering; they haven't overlooked a single element. And let's not forget the sides. Crispy, golden French fries, hand-cut and cooked to perfection, are the ideal accompaniment. They're the perfect balance of salty and satisfying, a delightful counterpoint to the richness of the burger.Chef Shack isn't just about the food, though. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a touch of industrial chic. The service is friendly and efficient, adding to the overall positive experience. It's the kind of place where you feel comfortable lingering, savoring the aftertaste of a truly exceptional burger. In conclusion, Chef Shack isn't just another burger joint. It's a destination for those who appreciate the art of the burger, where every element is meticulously crafted to create an unforgettable culinary experience. It's a symphony of flavor, a testament to what a well-made burger can truly be. So, do yourself a favor and head to Chef Shack. Your taste buds will thank you.“

“I walked in and noticed the full bar. So, I decided to settle down and take a seat at a four-top. I was acknowledged by a server who asked if what I would like to drink. After giving he a beer order, she came back a few minutes later with a draft beer on a 24oz glass. The place was busy, so I distracted myself with other things while waiting for the server. About five minutes after, she came up and asked for my order (Crossroads Burger, single, with fresh cut fries). While waiting for my burger she checked for a refill. It was evident there is a strong local atmosphere here, with people greeting each other with hugs. There are a decent number of groups here with families and kids, so that gives me the impression this is a friendly place. I was brought my second beer about eight minutes after placing my order, and also not either the owner or a manager walking around picking up some stray napkins on the floor. After about 20 minutes my order came to the table. I figured if they were going to put their name on a burger, it should be good. It did not disappoint: the burger was smashed, well-reasoned, and juicy (medium), the jalapenos and pepper jack brought the right amount of heat, and the brioche bun was a good base to build on. I had pretty much finished my burger before the server checked in with me about ten minutes later. She was busy and I no complaints, so it's all good. The bar had completely cleared out about thirty minutes from my arrival, but my server asked if I'd like another beer, which I sure did, and I'm going to leave my review at that. Crossroads seems to be a good local place to grab a burger and a beer, and is community-based enough to make it family friendly.I'm going to relax with another beer and suggest you come here to do the same.Parking: Parking was available at the establishment and at tht gravel lot across the street.Kid-friendliness: High chairs are available for the little kids, and there seems to be quite a number of families here with their little ones.“

“Are you sick of paying $15! for a hamburger? This place is for you. It’s been an institution for over 50 years. It features diner-style food with a full-bar.Food is delicious and prices are cheap. The kitchen can take awhile if they’re super busy. Won’t impress foodies, but a solid Midwest meal.My only boomer comment: the jukebox is extremely loud!“

“Love coming here. Is one of the highlights for me every time I'm in town. The alcohol milkshakes are great with or without alcohol; I've tried every flavor. The foods I've had are just as good. I also like the set up of getting drinks. Once you get the hang of it, it's great. The fact that we can mix and match, I wish more bars had this set up.“

“Awesome hometown pub, best burgers in town!! Service is always great, we frequent a couple times a month. A regular go to for us!!Dietary restrictions: They do an excellent job with my wife’s gluten intolerance, always ask for “no bun” and have never been cross contaminated!“

“Stopped here for dinner while visiting family, this place is a hidden gem!Had Calimari to start- the texture was great, the breading was airy and well-seasoned but very tender.I had the Chicken Riggies for my entree- the chicken was perfectly cooked and the vodka sauce was delicious! I asked for a little extra spice in the sauce and it did not disappoint (though would order as it comes if you're sensitive to spice).I finished with the flourless chocolate torte for dessert- the flavors of the dark chocolate balanced well with the fruit topping and was dense but not too filling. I would definitely get it again!Staff was very friendly and quick. I had an Old Fashioned, generous pours but not over-powering.We will definitely be back next time we're in town!“

“Visiting Granville, Ohio? Stop by Alfie's Wholesome Food for a terrific lunch and a little sweet treat. Many of the condiments used on the sandwiches are made on the premises, as are the lemonades. Our lunch was delicious, exceeded only by the terrific personalities of the crew working inside. Chat with Torey about the genesis of the VW sandwich's name. You'll find Alfie's Wholesome Food just off East Broadway (221 E Broadway) tucked between the museum and library. It's located at the end of a beautiful brick walkway. Stop by the Just Write Fine Paper and Stationary Shop and pick up a few greeting cards or a local school's tee after you top off your meal with a homemade sweet treat.
