“Beautiful Inn, Everything was ready, clean able to check in early enjoyed a nice bottle of their wine that they provided close to everything! Walking distance to the Marblehead lighthouse to local establishments for breakfast or for a few cocktails and fun that there is a winery and coffee shop right downstairs! “Best ice cream I’ve had in quite some time! Lots of flavors, and when you get a large they keep scooping until you tell them to stop. The service here is great and the line moves quickly. While the older kids got far too much with a large, the medium, or small even is a great option.Kid-friendliness: Kids will love the ice cream options and easy outdoor no-mess tables.”

“Great place to gather with friends. Atmosphere is cosmopolitan yet warm and friendly. Busy with good live music yet calm enough to carry on quite serious conversations. I hosted 12 men who are not all easy to please. (Some might be called grumpy!) They were pleased that evening!”

“The island had closed up pretty much for the season, and we had trouble finding a place open to serve us. Goat Soup and Whisky was the only one we could find still serving at that time. They make their own soups (very good) and had a better menu than we expected. Rustic atmosphere and good service.”

“I am NEVER disappointed when we eat here. I have tried just about everything on the menu through the years and it is ALWAYS amazingly delicious! We always have great service. I have to say, don't review things often. I am reviewing tonight because these people are so nice and accommodating. Our family is in town for the loss of a loved one, after the viewing this evening, it was just after 8. We called and asked if they can accommodate a party of 20, less than an hour before they closed, they said, "Yes. Give us 10 minutes." The service and food were perfect! “We decided to hit the drive-thru for our first time after furniture shopping in Sandusky, and our experience was terrific! First, great customer service unfortunately is hard to find these days in food and beverage, and each person we came into contact with here, from order to window was extremely patient while my indecisive family ordered lol, they answered all questions and even made a recommendation on the Italian creme cake to add strawberries!! That was DELISHHHH!! Jamie was so polite and sweet —we will absolutely be back!!! Thank you for an outstanding first experience, We are super excited to come back and dine in to try your unlimited breadsticks you told us about!! 10 stars!! Food is hot, fresh and taste home made!!! “Crush is one of our favorite places to eat. We took our daughter and family there for a birthday party. Everything was spot on. The food was divine, the service was fabulous, and we always love chatting with Andrea, the owner. It's a gem in Sandusky and well worth the visit.”

“I've been going to the Pump for years. It is my go to for lunch or dinner on the island. The staff is friendly and the food is very good. Also one of the few, if not the only, restaurant/bar on the island with a pool table, so it is a great place as a night spot too. Try the fish tacos. They're the best! And don't forget their special hot sauce for the tacos and the fries.”

“Great food! Was worried about the somewhat empty lot, but it was early on a Wednesday. You wouldn't expect this good of bbq in Ohio. It's on the lake, plenty of space inside, with a very woodsy interior and great beer selection.”

“So the soup was fantastic!, but the smoothie was disgusting. They use Nescafé milk powder in it, and the mango is something called 'mango jam'. It was so bad, and they insisted everyone loves them. Yeah right. Also, they serve tea by the cup. Every Japanese or Chinese restaurant I have ever been to provides a pot to the table. Thanks, but no way.”

“We had breakfast here on a Sunday morning. Food was good. Shanta was awesome ! She was very friendly and cordial. She made our dining experience great. Her excellent customer service and professionalism should be recognized.”

“What an awesome place this is! We first went in July 2023 (perfectly en route from Chicago to NE Ohio) not really sure what to expect. First off, the food was incredible. We got the pho and seaweed salad. Both were phocking pho-nom-nom-nom-inal. The beer was just as good. The selection from IPAs to sours...all fantastic. The IPAs rival Treehouse, no joke.We came back end of January 2024. This time super pumped with high expectations. The website and social media said nothing about the brewery and restaurant being closed, so when we arrived and were told they were closed, we were super bummed. The owner could tell how disappointed we were and treated us to lots of beers (cans and draft...all awesome and on the house) and even ordered us some food. It was such an awesome experience and was so much fun. We stayed for multiple hours and hung out with the owner and his buddy. The only bummer was that we didn't get any of the pho or seaweed salad. I sure hope to be able to come back one day!”

One thing kept me from total 5 star rating.....the side of sausage gravy I got was generous in portion, tasted so good but was cold. Not slightly warm unfortunately but cold. “The Island Grind is such a unique addition to Middle Bass. It's located right off the Miller dock behind the historic Lonz Winery which gives you the perfect first, or last, stop when you're visiting the island! I always get a frozen chai and it's unlike anything I've ever had from any cafe. They also have a prohibition bar around the side and it looks straight out of the 1920s and the drinks are delicious. I've gone to both places several times this season. The owner Jane is also absolutely amazing. She puts so much attention and care into her craft and her connection to customers. I'm looking forward to coming back next season!”
