“I really like this place, only thing I don’t like is how this is a jazz bar but they add $20 extra to your tab for them having a band. It’s a JAZZ bar! That’s like going to a water park and they charge you an extra $20 for the use of the water lol tipping the band should be optional for the customers or at least post a sign stating that. I don’t have a problem with paying it just through me off guard. Plus you’re still tipping the waiter.“

“My husband and I ordered bloody Marys. The garnishes were old and gross. The bloody Mary itself was good. The bartender was less than thrilled about working. My eggs came out hard but they remade them. The potatoes that came with my husband's meal were old, hard and cold. The syrup bottle was dirty. I doubt we would ever go back.“

“We've stopped here multiple times and always have delicious coffee. They have regular coffee and unique flavors like cardamon rose. You can order them iced, warm or frozen. Definitely worth a stop to grab a drink while you shop down Main Street“

“This place was great! We moved to the neighborhood recently, and it's so wonderful to have a good cafe within walking distance. We were immediately greeted by the owners and thanked for coming in. Silvia took our order and was so sweet. The chicken salad and turkey burger were both delicious, and the coffee was incredible. We drank our lattes so fast we ordered a second round to go. The owner showed me around to the meeting areas and was so sweet and personable. I hate to think how much money I am going to be spending here, but glad to support this great business!“

“If I could give the food six stars, I would. I am often disappointed when eating out. I ordered eggs benedict and the bread was perfectly toasty textured and the hollandaise was delightful. Someone in that kitchen understands and cares about what they create.“

“My husband enjoyed his sausage and peppers pizza. You can see them making it fresh for you. The chicken avocado sandwich is so good. Chicken was seasoned well and everything came together on the bun. It is pricey but I think it is worth it based on the quality of the ingredients. “I've lived here almost ten years and this has been on my list for a while. Finally just tried. I did take out but kind of wish I dined in. Friendly people and pho just seems like something you should eat right out of the kitchen. We had the pho with rare beef and meatballs, the egg roll, and fried wontons. “I like their coffee and the employees are usually very nice. Just wish they were a little more flexible when it comes to their drinks they will not make blended drinks with dairy free options. And if you ask for like extra crumbles in your drink stirred in.. they will tell you no. They are blended drinks they can't.. which doesn't exactly make sense since you just have to stir them in after you're done blending it. However, coffee is always good!“

And all the syrups are made in house and it makes a difference— they’re unique in their quality.My new go to for SURE! “Taqueria El GirasolTaqueria El Girasol is a recent addition to the Westerville dining scene and is one of my new favorites. Owned by a family originally from Mexico City they offer traditional Mexican food from a slightly abbreviated menu. The abbreviated menu doesn’t bother me because it is a small restaurant and I would rather they do a few things well than have to cut corners with a larger menu. One thing Taqueria El Girasol offers that is usually missing from local Mexican menus is breakfast dishes.Doing my due diligence I read several previous reviews of the establishment and I will now address some of the earlier concerns in one sentence or less. The chips were warm, the salsa was thick, the horchata was cold and the food was deliciously seasoned.The FoodToday I chose Huevos A La Mexicana. Eggs scrambled with tomato, onions and Jalapeños. It was cooked perfectly and not overcooked as is easy to do. It was well seasoned and served hot. It was in my opinion a good value for the money spent. I have never ordered a dish here that once finished left me hungry. Speaking of good values the desserts here are easily large enough for two servings and are absolutely delicious.The FacilityThe signage in front makes the restaurant easy to find even though it is situated almost in the corner spot of a small strip. Once inside the dining is nicely decorated with artworks that pay homage to both Mexico and Central Ohio. The table arrangement is nicely laid out and not cramped. Overall the dining room and restrooms are very clean and neat in appearance.The PeopleThe people who represent your business can make or break your business. The people I have talked to at Taqueria El Girasol are some of the nicest I have met in a while. They have always welcomed me in or welcomed me back and have always made me feel truly welcome. They have also always thanked me for my visit. Not just one of my favorite restaurants but also some of my favorite people.Personal observations and preferencesNot much I would change about Taqueria El Girasol. Would like the option of flour or corn tortillas with some dishes but to be fair it may be something that all I had to do was asked for. Also business hours of 10:00AM-10:00PM are not conducive breakfast dining and the breakfast dishes on the menu. I understand this is a family business and the importance of balancing life with work, but I’d be interested to see whether they would be more busy between say 8:00AM to 10:00AM or 8:00PM-10:00PM.Final thoughts and recommendationsOverall I would have no reservations recommending Taqueria El Girasol to a friend or family member, or for that matter taking a friend or family member there to eat.“

“Super friendly employees and owner! Amazing & affordable coffee!! They can also grind the beans for you. The sandwiches here are delicious. They recently repainted and there are big windows that make the place bright. They hang up local artwork on the walls that you can enjoy or purchase if you're interested. I come here often with my Uncle Henri. Definitely recommend!“
