“The food was very good. I got the boneless chicken breast with the Holy"#+@*%?" heat level and was not disappointed. That level of heat is not for anyone who doesn't want to lose feeling in their face, lol. They have everything from regular no heat up to the highest level, "Unholy"!! I won't even consider trying the "Unholy" as the "Holy" was incredibly hot and the highest I ever need to go. I've been to other "hot" chicken restaurants in the central Ohio area and was unpleasantly let down. They just lacked the heat I'm looking for, the portions were small, the price was high, and the taste was lacking. Hot Chicken Takeover was everything that the others were not. The portions were great and the price was good too. I have found my Hot Chicken restaurant in central Ohio and will be returning soon.“
“I stopped by HCT for a late lunch. I was pleasantly greeted by Kevin. I also was pleasantly surprised to see collard greens on the menu. Get some cornbread HCT! Maybe even some muffins. It’s a must for greens.Anyway. Food was great and the atmosphere was fun thanks to Kevin. Keep it up.“
“I came on Thursday.....I ordered smothered chicken, greens and mac n cheese. Greens and mac were great. Chicken was kinda dry, but smothered in gravy. Rolls were to die for. They were buttery warm and all together good. Nice place to have down home cooking. I felt like i was in my mama kitchen. The owner came out and introduced herself. Nice touch. I will be back. You have to know that directions are sketchy at best. It is located in the back of rhema church. There is a small awning that says cafe. Enter through those doors. There is no signage“
“Cami by far is one of the best servers there!!!! If you go, please ask for her. She is so personable, very sweet, attentive, efficient, and can make the best lemon drop. (Ask for the peach one) when you go. I frequent CJ’s and I would have to say last Tuesday, April 9th, was the best experience ever. My cousin and children have never been so I took them for a night out! They enjoyed everything that was ordered and the atmosphere was great. When it came time for dessert, I had expressed to Cami that I didn’t have the best experiences with any of them. Well, y’all, she sold me and my crew on the banana pudding. I mean it was sooooooo good that we went back the next day just to grab some for dessert. Now I will say for those of you who have had hit or miss experiences with the food here, take a quick second and ask your waitress what the sides are like prior to ordering. I found this to be very helpful as most of them will be honest about the popular sides for that day. Also, ASK FOR CAMI. She will get you all the way together and make it your best experience ever!!!!! (Don’t forget to order your lemon drop)“
“I happened upon this place on google. I have been 3 times and the food is perfect each time. I wish the inside had a better vibe, it is kind of stiff. But paper towels at each table is a nice touch! I wish parking was easier to maneuver.Most of all - I wish they had better hours. It is bizarre how a restaurant closes at 4p during the week and 8p on weekends. Please stay open longer!“
“This is my favorite place to go when I get out. I only go in the day early. Well I went this evening 7:30 drove and 1 1/2 hr in a Friday snow storm, not busy. This time I was soo disappointed and I was bragging. I was surprised the food was trash. Butter sauce was not hot spicy wise, I don’t eat pork they put pork sausage in after I made it clear. Tonight just was not it. If I do deal with them again it’ll be in the mid day. Service was horrible, had 3 diffent servers it was a mess.“
“I recently enjoyed LB's golden fried fish and chicken at the Firm Foundation event and couldn't resist going back for seconds. The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly, and the food was consistently hot and delicious. LB's has become my new go-to spot for a satisfying meal—you definitely need to check them out!“
“Finally had the opportunity to try them. The fried catfish was excellent. The breading was light and well seasoned. The whipped hot sauce was tasty. There was another sauce that was like an extra vinegary hot sauce that was amazing. The greens w turkey neck were some of the best greens I’ve had. And the honey biscuits were hearty and sweetened just right.“
