“Huge portion for the price you pay. I ordered a Havarti Beef Melt ($20) with a side of fries. The sandwich was presented with both sides facing up, so I thought a little weird for a sandwich to be opened but I totally understand why... they were a hefty portion. The beef brisket was tender, and saucy, just the right amount of salt to flavour it up. It would have been better if the Havarti cheese slice (THICK!!!) was more melty. Fries were crispy and pretty thick cut. Overall if you work around this area, Mr Nick's wouldn't be a stranger to you. But definitely worth a try!“

“I always end up here on my birthday or special events first thing in the morning because I love how many vegan and non vegan options their are so everyone feels included. However, last time we came around noon and it seemed like by the time we got seated the staff were tired, the food was missing parts & when we asked our server for the missing pieces she seemed irritated. “I've visited other locations of Pur + Simple. This was my first visit to the Woodbridge/Vaughan location. Jasmine was our server and she was really great: very friendly and helpful! The potatoes in the Cilbir and spicy potatoes breakfast was phenomenal. Service may feel a bit slow but if you aren't in a hurry and don't like to feel rushed, this may not be a bad thing. “Good food and excellent service but poor management!Went this location for lunch today with my family. It was quite busy. Although, we didn’t have to wait at all. Our server was very attentive and friendly. Food was good.It was very warm and stuffy. We thought maybe because of many people and open kitchen but my son told us he saw the thermometers on the way to the washroom. One was off and one showed the room temperature was 24 degrees. We wanted to get out there as soon as we finished our meal. I asked our server to bring the machine. She said “I’m sorry we only have one at the cashier”. There was a long line up at the cashier. We got our cash together for the bill and tip. They should invest more money to provide better environment and more convenient for their customers as well as their employees.“

Server was new and didn't know anything about the special crab cake eggs Benedict-- could not even tell us if the crab meat was real or simulated. Oh well. Felt a little put off that the minimum tip amount on the point of sale machine was 20%. Standard tip for decent (not excellent) service is still 15%. When we pointed this out to the young woman at the till, she became defensive and blurted, "Yeah, that's why there's an option to enter your own tip." Very unsympathetic and unprofessional.“

“Today we paused at Boom on St. Clair for a late breakfast. We were warmly greeted by our host and server, Isabel. As this was ‘brunch’ for us we chose 2 hearty options: the Power Breakfast (with peameal, poached eggs, roasted tomatoes and rye toast) and the Oh Canada Eggs Benedict. Both meals included fresh fruit garnish: an orange twist and a pineapple wedge. Both meals were attractively plated. (Something that particularly appeals to my CIA trained foodie husband…”we consume first with our eyes!”) The food arrived hot, and Isabel made sure to check back with us - first if all was right with our meal - and later on for coffee refills.We often choose to return here when in Toronto to see our kids and grandkids, and here are our reasons why:1. consistency - we can count on the food being exactly the same, every time, as described on the menu;2. we can count on being seated quickly, even when they’re busy;3. we feel they value our business - they remember us, and call us by name, and seem genuinely happy we came;4. options - the menu appeals to all of us, and there’s something for everyone, even the most finicky eater: grandkids, adults, and seniors;5. and finally, with all respect to gender and ageism, they employ women of a certain vintage, who know their stuff, understand children and the challenges of dining out, and how to problem-solve and think on their feet - and whose years in age also bring wisdom to their job performance!Thank you Boom for our full bellies and Isabel’s capable and caring service.
