“We booked this place as we love the Kinki Original spot in downtown Toronto. We expected the menu to be same but it was quite different but we had a great time here as well. We had dinner a few weeks ago at Kinka Sushi Bar and the food was amazing! The service from the young lady was great as well (Gigi). We tried various different sushi rolls and other shareable items. Also tried the beef bibimbap. The place was busy for a weekday evening. We also tried some cocktails and the sake cocktail was a hit. Definitely recommend folks to try this restaurant.P.S. “The ramen was delicious. Highly recommend the pork with an egg. My grandmother has a gluten allergy so it was nice to have the option of the potato noodles. Oddly I really liked their bathrooms as they were playing older Japanese music and there was mouthwash to use“

“This has to be one of the best bars in Toronto. Ryan and Julia (on Saturday), Patrick and all the other staff make it feel like you did when you watched Joey and Rachel in the coffee shop on Friends. “Best fried calamari I’ve had, even better than a few of the fine dining places I’ve been to lately, this pub knows how to cook their calamari to perfection. It was tender and served hot. Seasoning was just right.They have a Nash chicken sandwich that uses 2 pcs of battered chicken with cheese and bacon (schnitzel) as buns, no bun needed if you’re in a keto diet or avoiding bread! And then served with a side of salad. Plentiful. $21.The soup of the day was a tomato vegetable soup which was quite good, the tomatoes were roasted. There were more than enough vegetables in the soup to make it heart. Flavour was on point.They have a good beer menu as well.Service was excellent, attentive, friendly and professional.I had been wanting to try this pub for the last 2 decades and never did for whatever reason but, I’m glad that I finally did get to try it. “One of my favourite bars in the city! Unassuming and easy to miss if walking by, but definitely worth a stop.They have a ton of beers on tap along with a good selection of cocktails and other craft cans/bottles. They have 3 pool tables which are pay by the minute and usually has a long wait on weekend evening, but aside from that they're usually available.While I mostly come here for drinks a pool, their food is delicious too! Typical items you'd expect from a pub menu but executed at a step above most others.Love the cozy environment, ample seating along with a fire place for those colder winter nights. Service is always friendly and attentive.Definitely a great date spot or to have some drinks with friends.Highly recommend!“

“The Old York Tavern suddenly finds itself amongst million dollar studio condos and has updated itself accordingly. Only a 3 wait staff are needed to cover the tiny trapezoidal footprint, but all were friendly and knowledgeable on the menu and wine list. Small shareable dishes were flavorful, with the lime and pepper shallot calamari being a standout. Limited selection might prevent a second visit amongst the growing options in the 'hood.“

“Have been coming here almost daily for coffee since moving into the neighborhood five years ago. The staff are like family and go out of their way to treat my children with kindness and enthusiasm. Coffee is Detour and there is no charge for alternative milks. I miss when they had a lunch/dinner menu! But the snacks and pastries they have now are really good also. My favourite back patio in the city.“

“Mugshot has been a regular visit for us for close to 10 years. Always friendly. Accommodating to kids. The food is excellent. We are glad it’s closed to home. Plus the actual mugshots are always entertaining. On our latest visit I had the cowboy burger, my wife had the perrogies and pulled pork and our son had popcorn chicken. I like the small touches like the old style mugs for pop. Good place to sit and watch hockey as well. Oh and based on previous visits they do a great job on sweet potato fries. “I met friends here for drinks and food and was shocked and delighted to arrive and see the sandwich board out front advertising pints of indie Ale House Instigator IPA on special for $6. All day long.In my experience of reading sandwich boards in Toronto, fancy bars and dive bars alike are pretty stingy with their happy hours, usually offering a deal on one of their most boring, flavorless beers.I don't know if this IPA promo is a one-off for the John or not, but kudos to them for satisfying our tastebuds and stretching our beer dollar on this visit. We won't forget.To no one's surprise, we had 3 beers each. We also ordered a lot of food. I had the John burger ($17), which was really good. The patty was simple and meaty, good toppings and a bun that fit the burger and didn't overwhelm it. Fries were decent and I appreciated that they came out hot. Others ordered wings and sausage on a bun and dill fries. Everyone was happy.The service was super relaxed and friendly. Patrons seemed jovial and a few were pretty wasted, which added to the lively atmosphere. A fun night had by all.“

“For those who like a good pub with its own beer production, good food, good location and accessibility ♿️ this is definitely the right place.Granite is very well located on Avenida Egliton, close to many shops, private parking, public parking and the metro station.The brewery has an outdoor area for the spring and summer periods, a bar lounge area, and an indoor area with a fireplace.Local production takes place right there at the brewery, and you can see the boilers when you go to the washrooms.Speaking of accessibility: the house has an accessible entrance with a spring door, but without automatic activation (which makes it difficult for wheelchair users, users of crutches or walkers to enter. They have an adapted bathroom with support bars and spring doors (the bathroom door it also requires automatic opening). All the sink taps are automatic and so is the waste disposal container. They have no internal steps and the tables are spacious for aligning supports for walking.I asked the restaurant when the menu was in Braille, but the attendant couldn't answer me, so the person I was with needed my help with the order.The service at the house is very pleasant, but now at the end of the year, everything is very busy and it may take a while for you to be served at the table.They have their own store, with souvenir items and beers to take home or as a gift.The menu is wonderful and the fish and cheaps is certainly one of the best I've ever tasted.For those thinking of going with children, the restaurant has seats for older children and high chairs for younger ones, as well as a children's menu for lunch and brunch.It's really worth visiting, especially since the beers are great.Vegetarian options: They have a menu with snacks without the addition of animal products, as well as salads, pasta and portions of cheese, fries and onions.Parking: Parking lots are public parking lots on the street, where you need to park your car in a space and enter the amount of time you will stay. The food and drinks were tasty, but don't get the sweet potato soup, it was so sweet I couldn't even finish a third of it, my partner and another friend tried and they couldn't either. But the burger was phenomenal. My beer was really tasty too. Also not accessible as there are stairs getting up to the entrance.Also my partner is super picky about his food and ended up not getting anything to eat, but that's common for him so I'm not surprised about that.Overall it was fun, and I'd go back there again.“

We ordered the Scotch Egg to start and their 2-for-1 special with the Fish & Chips and the Curry Chicken Pie.The Scotch Egg was excellent, especially with a pint.The Fish is the best I've had in the City and spoils you for others attempts. The Tartar Sauce is made in house and I think they could jar and sell it on its own.Their Pie's are also on point. Lots of flavor. I went on a friday night and they had a live dj playing all sorts of music from country to latin to some soft rock, but what made it even more enjoyable was the patrons who got up and danced the night away. They were above and beyond to help make our event a success. They were all very nice, good people. The space was very well decor and had more than enough space for us. The food was yummy and there was Halal and Vegetarian options too. Pricing was very reasonable too. We will definitely come back again in the future when we are around the neighborhood.“
