“Shocked that this gem only has a 4.4 rating (at the time I am writing)! I live in the area and have been here multiple times. The food is consistently fresh, yummy, and unique - clearly made in-house! The owner and staff and super down to earth and cool people. Awesome patio in the summer months. An all-around chill local environment, reasonably priced and delicious!“
“We wanted to try a spot outside of our usual Friday after work wings and drinks spots and we're so glad we went to Crooksy's. Best service anywhere thanks to Emma, great pub food and a welcoming atmosphere. We will be back with friends and family.“
“We unexpectedly had a night without my young child. At 39 weeks pregnant I wanted to do something I can't necessarily do for quite a while once baby is born. Therefore I was looking anywhere in the area for Sunday night comedy and we came across this little gem of a show. By little I don't mean the set list I think I saw like 12 5-minute sets. It felt just like when I used to go to weird backroom events in Toronto to see my friends only all of these comedians actually know the rigamaroll. They had quite a challenge in regards to an audience there was a group of 5 people (of which maybe only 3 were stoned), me ( the super unexpectant pregnant lady) and her husband who were determined to really enjoy themselves, and a woman who I half think was an agent and like 15 comedians. Not everything hit but everyone was a professional and experienced and that alone I highly highly appreciate. Classic bar, interesting comedians, and good laughs. Maybe their material will be based in less heavy material with an audience that is more patrons than comedians ( like on NOT a long weekend) but a great show to take me back to days when I saw comedy weekly instead of annually.“
“Went here for the first time on April 11th 2024 . Parking was a challenge . The inside was narrow but long . We had 1lb of wings each and an order of fries . I wish the ginger ale wasn't so watery. The wings were really good .In total it cost 36.50 for 2 of us plus tip . I will gladly come back .“
“This was my first time at this place. It was pretty neat how they made a tavern out of these homes on the corner. It was a wonderful experience. The food was great and the service was good. Unfortunately, my gallstones were acting up on this evening, so I was not able to enjoy my stay to the fullest extent. I would definitely come back here to try some of the other food on the menu. The dessert was delicious but I was not able to finish it. Only thing I didn't like was the parking. I had to drive around the street to find a parking spot on a side street.“
“Old school pub atmosphere. Great selection of pub food. Service was well done. Fish and chips had a huge piece of fish. Tasted good. The chicken club on Marple rye was excellent and we would order it again. Overall a really good experience and would return “
“We had my Moms 60th birthday party and retirement here, everything was perfect and the food was unreal as usual. Trent made this all happen, and was definitely a night to remember! Thank you so much Trent and the team that helped us bring this into a reality! Highly recommend squires for a quick drink, lunch/dinner and especially party’s! Squires never disappoints, Thanks again!“
“My wife and I very much enjoyed this classic British style pub. It is cozy with dim light. The menu is great, the food that we got was hot, fresh and real tasty. The servers were very attentive too, and the prices were okay. So glad they are open late on Tuesdays.“
“Enjoy Squire a lotKid-friendliness: Bring my wee toddler there a fair bit. He loves it and the tvs are a good distraction. Such friendly staff!Wheelchair accessibility: The first floor has a bunch of tables and seats. In the summer there's a patio near the entrance which is accessible without stairs.“
“Always receive the best service from friendly staff. The kitchen takes great steps to ensure my allergy is handled correctly, which is not always easy with garlic! But I have eaten here many times without any issues. The bacon blues burger is the best!Dietary restrictions: I have a severe garlic allergy and the kitchen staff ensured this was addressed extremely well.“
“The owner was very personable and joined us for the solar eclipse with other restaurant goers. It was a unique and special experience. The food was also excellent! I will definitely be back and recommend The Ship to all visiting Hamilton! ☺️“
“This concert venue is like being in someone's living room. It has a couple of corner benches (one on each side) that come in handy for those that want to sit.Lighting in this venue can be lacking, so it's great if bands can bring some.Mosh pit area is kinda small, but still works as long as the pit people respect the musicians' space, and stays friendly to the rest of the crowd. Flailing elbows and feet are not welcome, as it can make things dangerous. A young girl got injured due to this, on Saturday this weekend. I am thankful a musician told the flailing fellows, that it was not welcome, and they left. No threats of injuries at shows, is always better.I know the downstairs bar also serves tacos, I hear they are a really tasty.“
“Unable to rate the food as I haven't eaten here for years. Last time I did was liver and unions with bacon and it was excellent! My wife and I have been going the past little while for a few pints and the live music on Saturday nights which has been really entertaining and enjoyable. I love the British pub feel here, I was recently in London England and frequented quite a few and this pub is very reminiscent of that experience. The staff are welcoming and helpful and the beer is fresh. Great all round place to go!“
“Came to Hamilton for the Ti-cat Vs Bomber game from Winnipeg. Stopped by this bar after getting off the Go Bus, friendly staff and patrons, we came back after the game was over before catching the bus back to Mississauga. Will definitely stop by if I'm ever in Hamilton.“
“The re opened Cat n FiddleGreat food! Awesome cook.Much more spacious. Bands have more room in the Live Room to set up n play!Come on out to the Cat!@ John & AugustaHamilton, Ontario.Parking: Warning Do not park directly across the street from the side entrance on Augusta at John Street. There is signage saying no parking from the corner to where the metal pole is stating so. It is an $80.00 fine if caught. That 80 bucks is better spent at the Cat where you will enjoy yourself knowing it is better spent!“
“Service was fast and efficient. Courtney and the manager took care of us. The bartender Renee was supposed to, but she was so busy at the bar. Renee came over to us to say sorry I got busy. We understand business get busy. Loved the food and atmosphere. 5 Golden STARS!!!!!!“
“Call ahead for a reservation! It will make things less chaotic when you just show up on a Saturday night expecting a table for six. We were seated promptly once a table did open up. Our waitress, 'Tori' was clear, concise, and kept all our orders straight the whole evening. Her good humor and sass made a somber occasion lighter and filled with laughter. Being my first time at Brassie Pub, I had only heard legendary rumors about their nachos. The rumors are true! Huge serving, evenly distributed cheese (very important), and great taste. You get your moneys worth. The pub itself is nice, bathrooms are spotless and stocked up. The atmosphere while loud, was friendly. More than once people came in and stopped at other tables to say hi to friends. Kudos to Tori for putting up with our table and being a good sport in all. I'll give this 5/5 stars and definitely going back!“
“This is a brief review of a couple from the southeast United States that attended a concert with Monster Truck headlining. How cool to see Monster Truck first of all for the first time on their brief Dive Bar Tour, in their hometown, in the oldest licensed establishment and live music venue in Hamilton! So cool! Downstairs was the actual bar, tables, small stage, etc. The food was excellent, the service impeccable seated at the bar, and the atmosphere off the charts. Major acts were upstairs in the rented space a little void of the character which was downstairs, but nonetheless a very cool venue. My wife and I originally went for the concert; next time we will go specifically for The Corktown Irish Pub!“
“Amazing! Genuinely one of the best bars I’ve visited in Hamilton, staff was beyond friendly, helpful and courteous. Ordered nachos, and mystery shots ( which where fun, tasty with a decent amount of alcohol) amazing portion for the price. The manager rachel was so beyond kind and genuine. Definitely making this my go-to spot. Atmosphere 10/10, drinks 10/10, staff 10/10, food 10/10. If you’re looking for a good local spot to grab a bite or drink definitely check out the west end!“
“Hidden Hamilton Gem ?….amazing Friday night dinner ?. Maybe ? the yummy ? fruit ? filled sangria made the evening sooo delicious, but must be the empty plates, fish, chicken, and corned beef….so yummy ?. Thanks to the amazing ? servers, and the amazing ? chef ??…delicious!Parking: Plenty of spots“
“I stopped in here to meet a good friend of mine that I hadn't seen in about 10 years. This place is centrally located and has lots of parking. The staff was wonderful and very comedic at times. My friend and I spent about an hour drinking and catching up at the bar. Drink prices are great and theres lots of seating and pool tables available. Check it out! You won't be sorry you did!“
“A great spot to grab dinner and drinks when you’re in the west hamilton area!! Both service and food were great - would definitely recommend the ‘Santa fe salad’ or the ‘Hammer burger’!Plenty of space with a fantastic patio! 10/10 would recommend“
“Typical pub atmosphere. Great selection of craft beers. Staff were amazing. Vegan food was awesome (don't kid yourself, this is definitely junk food, but it's delicious). We came as a family with 2 small children but would be equally as good having a few beers with the guys.“
