“We visit our son once a month in Kingston and we always choose a place to have lunch. This time my son requested a fish and chips place and after researching all the fish-n-chips places in Kingston we decided to visit this restaurant. I have to say this was an excellent choice, the food is great but best of all the French fries were homemade. We will go back“
“The fish and chips at Fran's is very tasty. The batter on the fish is on the thicker side, but not overwhelmingly so. If you must have a super thin batter, this fish is not for you. The chips (fries) are really great, (some of the best I've had) and the portion is generous. The Cole slaw is fantastic (mayo based) and the tartar sauce quite nice. A lemon wedge is included, which goes wonderfully squeezed on the fries, as well as the fish. Addionally, they have a fairly extensive menu of non fish items, for those who enjoy "turf" but no "surf". The shop was recently renovated and looks quite nice inside, even if the outside is nothing to write home about. All said, I do go there fairly frequently and will continue to do so. I would definitely recommend trying it.“
“We found this restaurant online to dine in to our way to Toronto. It's a family business, and the lady hosting us was super helpful and friendly. We ordered the commander (2pc haddock combo with shrimp,chips,onion ring and salad) and it was more than enough for our family and was fresh and tasty. I really liked the decorations too, it gives you the vibe eating in a restaurant close to shore ?definitely will be back there if we ever visit Kingston.“

The food did not dissapoint any of us. If we will to ranked the food, the best would be the linguine pasta, fish and chips, fish tacos, mussels and the least fav would be the seafood poutine.Service is fast and everyone is very nice and professional. They will genuinely take care of you. They attended all our our requests which maybe hard sometimes since we are a big group but they accommodate us well.Washroom is clean but stairs to the washroom needs sweeping.Parking would be challenging cause its downtown.“
“We go to Halibut house regularly, as they have the best price to portion ratio in kingston. The food is also delicious.They are super friendly and the place is usually really clean. The only problem they have is that every now and then, they have one waitress who does not write the order down and tries to remember it all. Then she messes stuff up or has to come back to clarify multiple times. Which can become frustrating, especially if you are hungry or hangry. LolOther than that, though, Halibut house is a great place to eat.“

“Restaurant was quiet as the weather was not that great. We were the only table but that meant the service was fantastic, the food was super quick, hot and very delicious! The prices were great too with the special that was on which was buy 1 piece of haddock, fries and coleslaw and get a second dinner for half price! The price of 1 of the meals was $12.95 so needless to say we had a wonderful dinner for under $30 for 2 ppl and that included a generous tip! I didn't take any photos but it is definitely worth a trip to Amherstview! Thank you for the tasty meal!Parking: Plenty of parking as it is in a strip mall type location.Wheelchair accessibility: Yes it is wheelchair accessible with accessible parking right out front the doors. Tables and chairs can be easily moved despite the restaurant not be an overly large area it can accommodate a wheelchair at the table as well if needed. Washrooms are also large and wheelchair accessible with accessible buttons to open/close, lock and unlock the bathroom door.“
“Such a cute little pub and a Kingston icon. After passing by this place many times my friend and I checked it out. You seat yourself and the staff feel like true Kingstonians. The pub gives family owned, very caring vibes. The other people in the pub were very low key and it was quiet enough to have good conversation. The food had big portions and tasted amazing. Would definitely return to this place and would recommend to anyone“
