“There are always many vegan options to choose from at Mio Gelato! Their red handles are vegan flavors which is about 1/3 of their total gelatos! The only disappointment is that the gelatos flavors that are vegan are mostly fruit based sorbets. I would love to see some more creative vegan flavors from Mio Gelato using nondairy creams or milks! That being said I am always down for a goood fruit flavored sorbet and Mio Gelato does not disappoint!”
“Had lunch with friends today and I could say it's one of the best Mexican restaurant in Kingston, I love the seafood paella and thier quesadilla kids meal is great. Our server is really nice I forgot his name but the hostess wasn't so pleasant, my son was sleepy he wasn't crying but making noises and I saw the glare the hostess gave our table.Need more customer service training. But overall it's a good meal.”

“This has been a usual haunt for my family, and our out of town guests and we have been about 10-15 times in the last year and plan to continue dining there every few weeks. They are the most consistent in town for decent food and relaxed atmosphere.Their duck and chicken dishes are incredible along with a fun and creative cocktail list.To note: On the weekends the place can get quite busy and loud and a reservation is definitely advised.My only critique is that the service is slow and is lacking for the price of a plate (30-50$ per entre per person)”

“Have been to this location about 5 times. The food is consistently excellent however she service also consistently lacks. We always have a reservation and we always wait for 10 minutes in the lobby to be seated. Additionally, it seems that every step through the dining experience just takes so long. From getting the drinks, to the food coming out, to the plates getting cleared and desert being brought out and getting the bill afterwards. To go have a similar experience at another restaurant seems to take about 45 minutes less from start to finish. I'm not concerned about the time spent at the establishment but the amount of time waiting for the next step is excessive. I'm beginning to think I may go elsewhere for a steak dinner.”

“I’ve been ordering from them pretty regularly ever since I moved to Kingston, six years ago. I’ve tried many of their dishes, and I always add cucumber raita and peas pulao, and they’ve all been wonderful and flavourful. The portions are a great size, the garlic naan is always warm, fresh and delicious. There are also many tasty vegetarian options.Note: I’ve seen a few complaints about having to order rice on the side - I’ve eaten at South Asian restaurants all over North America, and it’s been a very common experience to order rice and extra dishes separately so I’d ignore them.”

If we are meeting friends, this is our go to; particularly for those from out of town. The ONLY downfall is the downtown location but parking is generally not an issue.”

They will genuinely take care of you. They attended all our our requests which maybe hard sometimes since we are a big group but they accommodate us well.Washroom is clean but stairs to the washroom needs sweeping.Parking would be challenging cause its downtown.”

From the cozy seating, simple but refined menu, absolutely delicious appetizers, mains and desserts, comfortable, relaxing ambiance and we can't forget the service. Our server Marco was very friendly, funny, accommodating and helpful. He made us feel very welcome. And we can't forget our mixologist Abby who made the most amazing drinks for us and left a memorable experience with my nephew who will never forget this visit. Hope to see you all again when we visit Kingston. We highly recommend this gem.”

“Overall nice experience. The waitress had a little bit of attitude. It might be a Kingston thing I found all the hospitality staff not overall friendly compared to Toronto. There was allot of students and maybe they are use to serving more students. The cheese on the pizza is in the top 3 cheeses I had. The crust was cooked properly, the pizza was average, sauce was ok. The salad had too much dressing. I’m guessing the kitchen doesn’t have quality controls. The design of the restaurant doesn’t have sound dampening on the roof so the noise is beyond loud to the point we left early. The prices are good and the service was fast and the food slightly above average. I would suggest if you’re hungry and in a hurry and want a fair price this is an ok option. It’s slightly above a pun for dining. The place is clean and tables are comfortable. Maybe I’m spoiled dinning in larger cities.”

The attendant was very pleasant and answered all my (newbie) A&W questions regarding the menu. When I pulled up to the window, the lovely lady was all smiles and got our order on point. 2 trios and 2 kids meals. Food was hot. Always pleasant to have hot food and great service. Don't always get that from inside QC. Congrats team.”

If you having the breakfast there they will serve you in regular plates and cutlery instead of disposable ones. My son ordered all Canadian breakfast, I ordered English muffin breakfast and the egg is prepared right there. My husband ordered the same as me but he chose the regular bread. I also ordered a apple turnover however I don’t like to much sugar coat in the outside. Overall nice place to have a good breakfast and not overly expensive or crowded.”

The bar height tables, for example, work better for the height of my powerchair as I can sit at the table without having my knees jammed into the edge. There are accessible tables at standard height and also a small seating area with enough space to sit beside other patrons and enjoy polite conversation.”

They have fridges where you can look at cakes like a store, that was nice.Parking: Hard to find, not much parking options around where security will let you park.Kid-friendliness: Dairy Queen is fun for the entire family, and this location is welcoming.Wheelchair accessibility: Doesn’t appear to be wheel chair accessible, however the back door is on street level.”

“What an absolute gem, hole in the wall, gotta try it of a Restaurant Bistro and Bar.Friendly staff, Emma was our waitress and she helped us with our orders.She was friendly and fully dedicated to Bella Bistro's impeccable quality in service and food.The fact that the restaurant also kept everyone working during COVID, proves the importance of keeping a great workers relationship and happiness with the business.The food didn't take long to cook, started off with a nice B52 coffee, being an Italian special Bistro, coffee is very important and it was perfect.Ordered porc shirt rib starter and a homemade bred plate with homemade butter. As well as a plate of eggplant salad. All was very fresh, hot and delicious.As for the main course, I had the beef short rib with potatoes and a red sauce, melt in your mouth meats and the sauce was rich and a hint of sweet.We've also ordered a quarter lemon chicken, that sits on potatoes and covered with a cheese base white sauce. All in all, an absolute pleasure of a soirée.Be mindful, the plates and meals are no slouch either, large portions on the entrées and main course meals. Go to the butcher and ask for a 10 pound chubb - this is a 10 pound bag of ground beef - it's a mix of all the beef they ground - it averages 92 to 96% lean. I generally do this in the summer when hamburgers on the grill are what's for dinner... a lot. Recently got a great rental car price - rented a Grand Cherokee for 5 days for just under $500 including tax - without it - it would have been over $700 before tax. Be a good consumer- do some leg work”

“Quite simply, Darbars is the best Indian restaurant in the Kingston area (trust me, I've tried them all!).My family and I are originally from the UK, although we've lived in Kingston for >20 years now. We've always loved Indian food and Darbars is better than most of the Indian restaurants we used to love back in the UK (of which there were many!). Not only is the food seriously good, but their portions are noticeably larger than other restaurants. Any one of the their main meals is easily enough for two adults. When we have a family "occasion" and I ask what everyone wants, they invariably ask for "a Darbars" ... and I never argue! I love their Lamb Madras; but it is perhaps a little hot for many tastes. My wife's favorite is the Lamb Korma. The Chicken Tikka Masala is also fantastic. I can honestly say that we've never been disappointed in all the many years we've been ordering food from there. I even enjoy the banter with the staff there about Indian vs English cricket!They are most definitely worthy of 5 stars.”

Our server was great and checked on us regularly. They have a great menu of pizza, pasta, sandwiches and salads and desserts and large portions. We ordered a chicken pecan salad which we shared. It was bright and fresh and delicious and loaded with goodies. We chose the Meteor Pizza full of four different meats and loads of melted cheese on a delicious thicker crust. We were only able to eat about half of the large pizza and they will happily box up the leftovers for you. Did I mention our server was awesome? A great place to grab lunch or dinner in Kingston.”

Na'an was a little doughy, but better than most na'an in the city - I don't know if that's a compliment or an indictment on the state of Indian food in the YGK.Quote was ~20-25 minutes and the food was ready upon arrival. Staff is always friendly.One negative, if I had to nitpick - not wild about the value for the money. Chicken Madras ($19.95) and na'an ($5.50) is wild. CO seems to be one of the few Indian restaurants in town that doesn't include Papadum with their entrees - it must be an extra charge. Almost all of their entrees are a few dollars more than other similar restaurants in town. I guess they would point to the economy, rent, etc.”
“Spur of the moment, our family of four decided to book a dinner in one of the Winter Domes. The food was absolutely wonderful, and the drinks tasty; the Gougères, cheese-filled choux pastry were sublime and barely lasted 90 seconds! Our server was friendly and we really enjoyed the atmosphere: my kids loved being under the dome, while watching the blowing snow and lapping waves.My only complaint would've been the booking system, which involved a little phone tag, but that's admittedly my being fiddly.Will absolutely return and have recommended to all family and friends. My children can't wait to return with Grammy and Gramps next time!”
“I think the people who are giving this negative reviews never had authentic Chinese food (not northern but whatever) and cannot appreciate it. Kingston is rife with lots of people who go only for unotuchable favourites and spots, the competition I found to be absolutely inedible and watery in comparison unlike what the reviews for the competition seem to indicate.I could complain about some things, but the food more than makes up for it. It is one of the best chinese food spots.”

“Had lunch with friends today and I could say it's one of the best Mexican restaurant in Kingston, I love the seafood paella and thier quesadilla kids meal is great. Our server is really nice I forgot his name but the hostess wasn't so pleasant, my son was sleepy he wasn't crying but making noises and I saw the glare the hostess gave our table.Need more customer service training. But overall it's a good meal.”
“Went there 45 minutes before closing, took a bit to figure out what I wanted to eat, CS Rep. was patient, order was served quickly, got food home, opened it up and was surprised at the portion size for the in-expensive price, chicken was tender and seasoned perfectly. Will never be eating from Popeyes or KFC again, as this place hands down beats them in taste, price and portions!!”

“We went last night for the greatly advertised buffet only to be told there was no buffet tonight and they do that only when they want! Service was slow and minimal. Had to chase someone down after waiting 20 minutes to get our naan and 1 meal we were missing. Once we got the food it was decent. They need to update their offerings and advertising if the buffet isn't really a daily offering. Also need to work on customer service and coordination with the kitchen. Once they get that tuned up we will be back but not until. It's unfortunate because when I went for a lunch buffet a few months back the food was quite good.”
