“I recently dined at china town in Byron and I must say, it was an outstanding experience! From the moment I walked in, the warm ambiance and welcoming staff made me feel right at home.
The menu was extensive, offering a plethora of authentic dishes. I decided to try the Tofu and vegetables both of which were absolutely delectable. just the right amount of spice, and the tofu was rich and flavorful.
The presentation of each dish was a work of art, and you could genuinely taste the freshness of the ingredients. Additionally, the house-made dumplings were a highlight — they were perfectly steamed and bursting with flavor.
Service was prompt and attentive without being intrusive, making the entire dining experience even more enjoyable.
I left china town feeling completely satisfied and eager to return. If you're looking for authentic Chinese cuisine in a cozy setting, this place is a must-visit!
Thanks Angela“

“We drove from Waterloo to try out this hotpot cuz there’s no hotpot restaurant in Waterloo. I was so impressed by their crispy pork strips and the restaurant was decorated pretty well, exactly like those hotpot restaurants I visited in China, so that was good vibe“
“Great Canadian Chinese food restaurant. Owner was very nice. Food was cooked fresh, fresh oil, fresh veggies. Probably one of the better if not the best Canadian Chinese food establishments we've been to.
We got the deluxe order for 2 with wonton soup. The wonton soup was ok, very fresh. The chicken balls and spring rolls were absolutely delicious. The friend rice was perfect, not overly salty as i find this dish can be but seasoned just enough. The fried shrimp was also delicious, fresh oil just makes a huge difference in a lot of the fried dishes. The beef and broccoli was excellent with the fried rice, the beef was so tender.
Whenever we're in the mood for chinese food again, we will for sure be coming back!“

“Great spot for traditional Chinese fare with generous portions. Very unique spot with lots of figurine decorations. We got the hot pot with udon and the beef noodles and both were very good. The food is well prepared and is really filling.
Parking: Lots of free parking in the plaza“

“My boys thoroughly enjoyed their meal. There was so much to choose from and we were well taken care of. They said they would rate it 99.99 out of 100 (only because there was no pasta lol)“

“Awsome flavors. Great amount of food that fills me up (and I got an appetite) very friendly owners who make the food fresh. Ask for the coconut chicken curry it's bin my favorite for going on 12 years. They make it fresh everytime. Great prices. Not sky rocketed like other companies have“

“Extremely authentic Chinese street food. The food itself was good to very good; the environment is kind of utilitarian and not super comfortable as far as dining in. Maybe that's by design, as this place looks to be mostly doing take out and delivery.“

“Most enjoyable dinner. As everything has experienced inflation, this location has done a great job to mitigate the increases.
The won ton soup is excellent. The selection is actually quite exquisite.
This is a Chinese restaurant that is a test of times to keep the original Canadian/ Chinese options available. As we all know the cost of quality food is challenging. This restaurant does a great service to the community to provide quality for a fair price and is definitely the place to go for the ballance of quality for price. Personally I would pay more for a little more quality in the dishes like Cantonese chow main for a little more vegetables including water chestnuts but this is a simple ask for a restaurant that goes above and beyond literally any Chinese takeout in London ontario.
Thanks for a great quality Chinese option in London!!!“

“This is a classic, Canadian and traditional Chinese restaurant the way my grandfather used to have back in a small town in Ottawa. It had all the nostalgia for me.
If you’re looking for a classic take on all of your faves, this is it! The food was hot, plentiful (we had to take the rest home), tasty and the service was excellent. It’s a family run business and they’re all great!
Overall, our new go-to spot for Chinese.
No photos bc we were so hungry!!“

“We are new to this place, as we were frantically searching for somewhere new because our old go-to place shut down. After a lot of disappointments, we found Wong’s Gardens and we are so pleased with their food. We’ve had two orders so far and there will definitely be a third!
The eggrolls and wonton soup are delcious…and so is the Lo Mein with beef. The beef mushroom chop suey and the diced chicken with vegetables and almonds are also wonderful. It’s not listed on the menu but the lemon chicken is also good.
It’s difficult to find a good Chinese place in London now, but Wong’s Garden is the exception. Finally a place who knows how to make decent food! Thank you so much Wong’s Garden and we are very much looking forward to our next order with you. Happy Easter! 😁“
“First time ordering from this establishment. I have to say it was very good. We had the following items.
Lemon Chicken
Beef Lo Mein
Beef and broccoli
Chicken with vegetables
Chicken balls sauce on side
Sweet and sour pork Chinese style
Hot and sour soup Medium (2 containers)
It was lots to eat. Fed 3 adults and 2 kids with plenty leftover for seconds and or left overs. We will be ordering from here again. Thank you for a great meal.“

“Great food overall, some were iffy, the other day we ordered two dish, one of them was broccoli with bean curds, it was okay, nothing special you can literally order the same thing anywhere. But the barbecue pork was astounding, very juicy, fat and meat was perfectly balanced, you have to give it a shot.
One of the servers was oddly rude, she had no emotion whatsoever, didn’t say thank you after we paid but straight up “you want receipt?” We didn’t tip much but 25%, my friend said it’s authentic, I don’t know.“

“What a fantastic find! Lotus Gardens is a locally owned, family-operated Chinese restaurant that truly stands out. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed—like part of the family. The owners take pride in their food and service, and it shows in every detail.
The dishes are made with love and authentic flavors. The dumplings are my favourite and tasted just like a home-cooked meal. You can tell they use quality ingredients and made it with love.
Beyond the delicious food, the warm, personal service made the experience even better. It’s rare to find a place that feels this genuine and community-focused. Supporting local family businesses like this one is always a pleasure.
I was heartbroken to hear about the recent robbery they experienced. No small business should have to go through something like that, especially one that brings so much joy to the community. But if anyone can bounce back stronger, it’s this resilient family!“

“I really enjoyed my experience here! This is for sure a very underrated location in London downtown. Their food comes out fast and the service is great. The drinks are surprisingly very tasty too! Their menu is packed with lots of choices and cuisines, but I ordered mainly from the Chinese menu.“

“Editing my review to update all here.
**Sign posted in store window that restaurant closing for retirement December 15th... 2024***
Been coming here about 27 years and always enjoyed my meal. I've met the owner on numerous occasions and he's simply the kindest, generous guy you'd ever meet.
Will be supporting Great Wall Chinese moving forward as both owners are family. Thank you Dragon Gate!“

“I have been eating here since I was a child many years ago. Always a favorite. My go to for Chinese food. I always order something different to mix it up as it's all good food. However, they recently went to the meatless wonton, they are not as good as the ones before, now its just deep fried batter, no where near as good as with meat. But everything else is great. I recommend it always.“

“Great taste and big portions for the cost; my first visit ever (recommended by a friend) didn't disappoint even though my order came in 2 bags and I only saw one on the counter when I picked it up. When I got home, i was a bit annoyed because some of my order was missing but apparently they tried to contact me after I left (I never heard the call but I was driving so I couldn't pick up anyway) and I didn't discover the missing items until I got home; it was a dismal weather night but I went back to get the rest of my order; it was all there in the end but maybe in future they could staple the 2 bags together to ensure the 2nd one doesn't get missed. They said they pushed the much smaller 2nd bag towards me on the counter but the pickup space is tiny and I never saw the 2nd bag, only the big one in front. Again, if the staff member had said something I would have known to look for a 2nd bag. No big deal but it's the little things that count. The food and value were still worth it however... just make sure you pick up all of your bags the first time 😉“

“Great Canadian-Chinese food.
The building it is in is absolutely disgusting.
Between the car tires and rims and the absolute disarray of a building that is falling apart, I was shocked to taste how good the food was!
But honestly, I wouldn’t go back.
If the prices were reasonable, maybe, but I spent $30 a person for take out!
You CAN NOT eat there. It was a restaurant a long long long time ago, but now it is just a take out shell of a place to cook food.
I am a shocked the health department hasn’t shut them down.“
