“A friend recommended Castle John’s to me tonight and I am so glad we tried it!!! I can’t say enough about our experience. All of our meals were perfect. I had the Philly steak sandwich and my daughter had the Castle Club - two amazing sandwiches. There was also yummy Mac and cheese for two of the kids and fish and chips. All great. Great food is important but service can have just as much impact on a business. The deep fried pickles we ordered didn’t get packed with our order and we left without it. Castle John’s called by the time we got home. We live in Bowmanville but we were considering going back to pick up the pickles. Castle John’s decided instead that they would drive the pickles out to us and then even left a card expressing regret for the mistake with a discount on our next meal in the bag. That is incredible customer service and we will definitely be going back. Give them a try!!“

“This has become our new favourite place. We discovered it on a double date and were so impressed. From the drink choices, the amazing AAA steak’s, pasta (?) and Yorkie Bowls, to delicious desserts…you really have to visit this cute little pub. You won’t be disappointed and we are tough critics!!“

“Went to A Stones Throw with some friends before a gig. My first time there. We were a party of 6. Glad we made a reservation because the place was packed. And I can see why. Great atmosphere. Despite being busy our server was friendly and attentive and got us everything we needed when we needed it. Pints were great and very reasonably priced. Our food came in a timely fashion. Everything tasted great. Portions were awesome for the price. I'll definitely be back.“

We're going to eat our way through the menu after recently rediscovering this gem in the heart of Bowmanville. We're not fancy eaters and everything we've tried is cooked so perfectly and spiced just right. Their fries, fabulous. Tried the quesadilla with chicken today, so delicious and the BEST real chicken fingers. A family restaurant, quiet, great service and homey atmosphere. Also excellent breakfasts. “Dropped in for lunch with my toddler and kindergartener. My kiddos were a bit hangry after our morning activities and so they were being a bit of a handful, but I was welcomed with big smiles and coloring books at the ready! Our server was delightful, and totally understood the challenge of keeping two young kids occupied so we didn't bother other patrons. We ordered a chicken caesar wrap and an order of chicken fingers and fries. The food came impossibly fast (like I wonder if they bumped my order because I was on borrowed time with my littles), but I noticed that they're able to turn out most meals just as quickly. The fingers are those old school, white meat deliciousness and the fries are the best chip truck quality, with all the beautiful crunchy bits. The wrap was super fresh and a generous portion. They use high quality ingredients and never waiver from their exceptional service. My kids settled in and cleaned their plates, which says a lot! We were able to get on our way making excellent time, but I will definitely return be returning, perhaps with my husband or a friend to spend a little more time enjoying myself. Thank you Olympia!Kid-friendliness: I was solo with my littles and they were outstanding!! I never waited, was brought full coloring books and a whole complement of crayons. They have lids for the kids drinks and an excellent kids menu with generous portions. I could have eaten off the kids menu! But it's the patience and kindness of the staff that makes the trip worth it. I never felt like I was bothering anyone.“

“I came to this location today after having a very bad experience earlier at the Oshawa (Taunton rd & Harmony) location and what a difference. The moment we walked in we were greeted and seated and everything was great! Our server was Rebecca was awesome! She was friendly and served us well checked in a few times to make sure everything was good. The food was so good hot tasty and came out fast. We ate our entrees and had dessert in less than an hour. Awesome experience from the moment we entered to when we left. *note I shared our earlier experience with Rebecca just before we left. So the staff here is clearly genuine and professional. Highly recommend this location.“

“My family and I have tried this restaurant on several occasions since moving to the Bowmanville area. It came recommended by several locals. Best wings I've ever had. The rib and wing combo on the weekend is also great value, delicious. We come here routinely now.“
