“Definitely a hidden Gem!Love the food here, paratha roti so buttery flaky and delicious always made fresh. Curry chicken is always cooked to perfection always fresh never dry. Not to mention the service is always outstanding such friendly people who love what they do and are always accommodating. This place is worth the wait for amazing quality, if you're in a rush I suggest ordering ahead.“
“got the wings and mac and cheese! the mac could definitely use some seasoning but it was really cheesy. the chicken wings were a delight! so good and they were HUGE! cooked perfectly! for all my muslims only the chicken is halal not the oxtail! i also wish they wouldn’t put the wings on the mac cause i don’t like the sauces mixing! just something to think about next time when ordering!“
“Place is still fire. Prices are still competative. The jerk chicken plate is juicy and good flavor. Patties are still very good although not the best in the city anymore. But still a top 5. Coleslaw is good. It's a good place. The goat Roti is also very respectable. The employees are always happy to see you.“
“This restaurant has been around for more than 20+ yrs & the taste of the food remains consistent. My favorites are the Curry Goat (best in Toronto!), I also love their Oxtail-its so soft & tender with a rich gravy. The staff is very nice & service is pretty quick so you are in & out in no time. This is my go to Jamaican spot for the authentic tasting food, tourists & visitors to Toronto should put this restaurant on their bucket list of must trys when visiting the city!“
“This past Saturday I had an opportunity to enter this establishment. I was very impressed with the kindness, professionalism and respect that the bartender Nelly brought forward. She definitely made our experience one to remember and look forward to coming back. Keep up the exception bartending Nelly!“
“The food is delicious. They serve a variety of soups, and their jerk chicken and fried chicken are nicely done. The oxtail falls right off the bone, and the curried goat has just the right amount of spice. If you're craving a taste of the Caribbean, this is the place to go.“
“This restaurant is legit. Of course Toronto has hundreds of Caribbean/Jamaican restaurants but GC Jerk Express sets itself apart in my opinion by being made to order. Thus far I’ve only tried their wings and fried dumplings and jerk Alfredo penne pasta, but everything is made fresh which I love. There’s a bit of a wait that comes with that but it’s more than worth it. Customer service in Caribbean establishments is also usually hit and miss but from the folks working the counter to the cooks in the back, very professional and polite. No island attitude. All my Caribbean folk know what I mean ?“
“Very friendly staff, gave me some samples so ended up with Oxtail + Jerk chicken mix plate. Can add delicious plantain as add on for $2, got it fresh and hot only after few mins! Oxtail was super tasty and flavorful and the coleslaw was nice too! $20 but huge portions, lasted for 2 servings for me, highly recommended!“
“I have ordered deliveryfrom this restaurant and the food matches the price and quality. It is presented nicely and the food tastes as it should. It is refreshing to have a new different caribbean restaurant in the area. I will be definitely ordering again.“
“I have been eating potato rotis from the time I could eat solid food. Gisele & Marc LLANOS are my parents who are now in Heaven. I picked up a plain & a potato roti this week after not eaten one since Summer 2021 - I moved to Owen Sound at end of 2021. Next visit, I plan to get 2 potato rotis! I miss our Dufferin & King location also in the '80s when I worked at Dufferin Mall, they were in the food court.“
“Off of the 400 by Jane and finch in an industrial neighborhood.Small variety of carribean groceries. Can buy drinks by the case, frozen patties by the box, and frozen oxtail by the pound. The patties are approx $2 and $3.25 with coco bread. It is cheaper to buy a box of a dozen patties.I ordered the spicy beef patty and coco bread with a package of soft spicy tamarind balls. The patty and coco bread were hot, fresh, and delicious. The tamarind balls are mild.Must visit this spot if you are in the neighborhood ?Vegetarian options: Veggie pattie and some snack foods.“
“Dimes is my go to for a great meal, whether it be for lunch or for dinner. They offer a wide variety of choices, fried chicken, jerk chicken, curried goat, oxtail, and more but I specifically love the new Honey BBQ chicken, I been a long time customer and the service and the food has always been great ???? 5 stars for me.??????. Check out the new location on Eglinton, 2679 Eglinton ave West, west of Keele Street“
“Food is absolutely outstanding. Oxtail is the best I've ever had. The goat is superb. The chicken, is beyond amazing (my favorite out the bunch). The facility is always clean and ready for customers to come in and eat/drink and relax for a little. The service is amazing and completely fair to everyone and anyone. If you're planning to stop by, odds are you'll probably see me there“
“I was invited to this Resturant and was very impressed with the service and the delicious food. The pepper shrimp, lamb fried plantains and chicken wings was amazing. I highly recommend the fry rice and chowmein also. The owner Ram is so professional, kind and his interaction with the customers is GreatKeep up the good service and delicious food.“
“During Closing I Was Able To Try Plenty Of Options & Food Was Very Good. Even though It Was Closing Still Tasted Fresh Way Better Than Asian Gourmet. Even Breaded Chicken Tasted Moist Not Like Other Places Where It's Stale. Must Try The Lady Blessed The Plate.“
“I wanted to try an authentic Dominican restaurant. My husband is coming to Canada from RD and I wanted to make sure he could have a taste of home when needed. This was exactly what it is like in RD. The atmosphere, the music and the food were incredible. The waitress was polite and the owner was great. We all loved it and will be back! Xo“
“Awesome. Wanted a quick tasty and authentic snack, I got what I wanted with the curry chicken roti.Host was very friendly and receptive. Food came on time, nicely packaged.Very tasty. Please see pictures for how tasty this was. Roti was fresh and soft, curry chicken filling was nicely spiced, potatoes intact, choice boneless chicken cuts.Very satisfying. This is real food. It was tasty, high quality, and filling.I'm confident to try other items here and would if it was in my neighbourhood.Interior is nicely decor'd with flags and murals to give an authentic Caribbean vibe. Studying the paintings made the short wait for the food enjoyable.Parking: Plenty of parking stalls in an average lot next to a main road“
“We hired Winston to cater our office Xmas party - about 100 people. He and his staff did an amazing job - we ordered the jerk chicken, fried chicken, and curried shrimp platters along with a bunch of appetizers and rice. The staff loved the food and it was a huge hit! We have since used him for other office events as his food is always requested! He's done at least another 4 events for us.Do yourself a huge favour and hire Winston and his expert tema if you get a craving for Carribean food - I haven't been his restaurant yet, but I can only imagine how good the food there is!Thank you Winston for your amazing work and looking forward to our next order!“
“Great food. Beyond my expectations, the jerk chicken was quite tasty, especially considering the $5 lunch special price. It's one of the only places I've ever found pachownee for sale, and the dhal tastes just like home. Ramesh, the boss, is laid back and amiable. Good meal, company, and surroundings. Nothing can go wrong!“
“I rarely write reviews but I have to take a moment to give this place a shoutout. The food was stellar and ready within 15 minutes of ordering for takeout. The staff were so polite. My craving for jerk chicken was wholly fulfilled by this joint, and the rice really soaked up the flavour as well. Will be coming back soon.“
“This is a terrific food truck! They have delicious options like jerk chicken and various roti options. I had the curried goat roti and loved it.They seem to often be stationed at the Halton Hills outlet mall, so if you are there, do drop in at the far eastern end of the mall for a delicious meal. Yes, there are lots of places to sit and eat close to this food truck.“
“One of the best Jamaican foods I've tried the chicken was very fresh juicy tasty and the oxtail gravy amazing the size large was very was very generous the only thing that was missing was a bit more coleslaw and dressing that was very small amount but overall great food I will be back there“
“One of my favourite places for delicious food and a great vibe! Their service is quick and friendly, the food is consistently delicious and they host special events (comedy nights, karaoke, weekend parties, etc.). One of my favourite unexpected pleasures. Highly recommend!“
“I've ordered at least ten times before and loved it. Even my friend became a believer. However, when I ordered the curry goat roti for the first time on Nov 10, 2023, I got diarrhea. The food itself had burnt pieces in it like it was scraped from the bottom of a pan with old food. It didn't taste freshly burned. The lady asked us to go sit at the table and wait for the food to be prepared which I'd never been asked before.“
“I've been a loyal patron of this hidden gem for over 20 years, and there's a reason I've only ever ordered one item—the jerk pork. Despite the inevitable rise in prices, this spot has maintained consistent portions that keep me coming back time and time again.Having tasted jerk dishes from all corners of the city, Jamaica and abroad, this place remains my top choice for authentic jerk in Toronto. What sets it apart? The answer lies in the homemade special sauce, a runny, freshly blended, vinegary concoction of jerk and spicy flavors. You can take this culinary masterpiece home in a jar or a convenient plastic takeout container. I personally stock up to bring it to the cottage, where it becomes the perfect accompaniment to all our BBQ meats. I've yet to find a scotch bonnet sauce that even comes close at any other establishment. The jerk pork here is a work of art. Unlike other places that serve it in large cubes, they opt for thinner slices, enhancing the overall experience. The meat is incredibly tender, and each piece soaks up the flavorful sauce. The girl behind the counter has been a constant presence for as long as I can remember. Her service is not just about efficiency; it comes with a genuine smile and the occasional song. Her commitment to customer satisfaction adds an extra layer of warmth to an already awesome eatery.“
“We've always had good experiences here. My go-to is the Guyanese style chow-mein and the chicken curry roti. Hubby likes to goat curry roti. I like their blends of seasonings at this place. Hardworking family. Nice to us always. Food is on point.“
“Pleasant fast food court experience at the Georgian Mall in Barrie, I checked out the offerings and would have to say that this fast establishment caught my eye. Everything looked fresh and inviting to eat. I order a mango salad and beef medley. The salad was excellent and the beef, onion, mushroom and pepper protein side came in at a close second. No regrets and worthy of some positive attention. The service was quick and polite. No issues better than your average food court offerings.“
“Tried the cow foot soup and was immediately transported to my grandma's gourmet kitchen. What an amazingly pleasant, nostalgic experience. Best soup of any type that I have had in Canada. Thanks for the heart warming culinary experience and good customer service.Parking: Mall parking“
“Aneal's Taste of the Islands delivers a flavorful Caribbean experience. The curry chicken with rice & peas bold spices and tender texture are standout, complemented by a boneless curry chicken roti wrap. A must-try for those craving an authentic island taste.“
