After returning to Canada for half a year, I wanted to eat some spicy food. I visited this restaurant in 19 years and it was packed! Waited for half an hour to be seated. It was deserted this time. Only ordered two dishes. Boiled live fish, $35 is a bit more expensive. But the fish fillets all fell apart. You will know if it is fresh or not. If it is made from live fish, you will know after trying it. The taste is also quite disappointing. I probably won’t go there again…
It is one of the older Szechuan restaurants in town. Food is OK based on my standards obviously less tasty compared to some newer places. There are two major reasons that I am only giving a 3-star review: 1. during late dinner hours there was only one waitress; 2. there was a piece of plastic from the dish.This restaurant used to be one of the representatives of Sichuan cuisine in Toronto, but now its scenery is gradually overshadowed by new Sichuan restaurants. Great Szechuan cuisine. It is not as spicy as I expected, probably you can ask for a certain spicy level you like. The price is super reasonable. Service is really good. Ambiance is average. But it's good spicy food for a great price.
