“All items in their menu are tasty and delicious. Staff are very friendly and we got to meet the chef who’s behind this famous “Bao” recipes. They were able to keep the Pinoy flavour in their fusion and we’re just so proud and happy to know that they are located close by in Scarborough.“
“Ok let's go!!!! Man oh man. When I say some wings I mean some wings. I was looking for a spot to get some Superbowl wings and man did they come through clutch. Let's get into it. I've seen this spot many times but I'm so glad I went in. I got the Kansas BBQ sauce breaded wings and my guy, the flavor was heaven. So much that I killed the wings and couldn't finish my pizza. 9.3/10. A definite must try. My new go to wing spot in Scarborough.“
“Delicious and freshly made!The ebi (shrimp) katsu was amazing and so was the chicken katsu. Their milk bread is fluffy and not too heavy. The seaweed fries and their curry sauce dip were also delicious.The only mistake we made was ordering through UberEats for pickup, where everything was at least $2-3 more expensive. Next time, we’ll just order directly at the store.“
“We ordered 20 vegetarian meals from them (7 Curries, rice, payasam (sweet pudding), chilies and fried poppadum. The food was ready for pickup on time, nicely packed and most importantly simply delicious. Not too spicy, freshly made and as per order. They are now our families go to place to order.Vegetarian options: For our catering order they had 15 vegetarian curries to choose from i.e., soya, potato (2 varieties), beet root, carrot, eggplant (3 varieties), long beans, spinach, collards, bitter guard, ladies finger, pumpkin/cassava.“
“I had an order of Canadian Hot Wings. Very nice amount of spice and tasty. More importantly for me however, was the size of the wings and drums; they were BIG. Many pubs have scrawny little chicken wings, but these ones were great. I will be back as long as the wings are this good.“
“Just had one of the best chicken biryanis at this place at an amazing price point. Only issue would be is that the store calls me after I leave with my order to tell me I picked up the wrong order. When in fact I checked before leaving the store if it was my order even going as far as opening the container. So they clearly cannot keep track of orders when they were not that busy either. Also the interior needs a huge renovation & upkeep starting with the choice in interior paint colour, PINK?! Really!? The plaza is also dimly lit in a sketchy part of town! Aside from these issues the food quality and quantity it’s GREAT! MUST TRY!!!“
“---------------Positives---------------The first thing you will notice as you enter this small take out only shop is, the aroma of freshly made Chappati. It reminds us of back home when our moms made Chappatis.Suraj is take out only vegetarian restaurant that sells variety of Chappatis and parathas (see the menu prices photos). Chappatis come in ziplock type package of 10.The quality of Chappatis is very good..not oily, not half cooked like some other restaurants' and does not become dry in a day or two. The Chappatis bear the natural home made texture and color (you know how they have gold brown spots due to flame heat). Each Chappati is 7 inch in diameter and fairly thick but yet soft.They also sell other subjis and samosas but I did not buy them, so no comments.Suraj restaurant is open only for 4 hours on 5 days. It makes Chappatis on a daily basis and no old stock. In fact, when I walked in and asked for 2 packs, the person (not sure owner or not) asked if I had placed order already, which I did not. He said they cater mainly to pre-order but he still managed to give me one pack ($5.75). He suggested that I order atleast 2 days ahead so they know how many Chappatis to make on a day to day basis. There was another customer in line who has ordered 6 packs (60 Chappatis) and also confirmed the same repeat order for the following week. I later understood that many families order their weekly quotas from them.The restaurant (door #6) is just off Finch East on Kennedy in a plaza. There is free parking in the plaza. There is no dine in. The customer service is very polite and friendly. They accept cash, credit and debit card.May be i will try other items as well in the coming weeks.---------------------Not positives---------------------For my preference, the Chappatis were a little light on salt..I thought may be a pinch of added salt would be even better. “Couldn't decide what to grab for dinner today and stop by Zen. Ordered a Zen special fried rice was 17.80 and boy do they load up that box with food and the taste and freshness was on point for Guyanese style Chinese food....don't sleep Scarborough...and all the other places around need to step up ...Watch out for Zen ...only downside is no dine in.Great job Zen crew...“
