“88 Foods is my neighbourhood go to takeout. Super affordable, the portions are pretty big for the prices you pay. Dinner for two will run you about 20-25$. Daisy is a great and her service is on point! Def recommend the fried rice and the lemongrass chicken “
“An absolute gem of a place that needs to be preserved and protected at all costs. Without a question the best Jian Bing Guozi you can get in the city. On top of that, it’s extremely reasonably priced and run by the sweetest elderly couple in the world. Please be patient with them as when the lines are long it can take a while- it’s only the two of them working in a very confined space and they are absolutely doing their very best without cutting corners! I guarantee you it’s worth the wait.Cash or card accepted. Sometimes on the weekend they’ll even give some free congee but if not available, highly recommend the hot soy milk- hits the spot on a cold day. One of my all time favourite places in the city.“
“The best smash burger I’ve ever had that rivals shake shack and easily tops in n out. The patty was crisp and the sauce and cheese were not too overwhelming. The bun was also soft and perfectly complements everything else. The curly fries were also amazing with the perfect crunch. Expect a line but it’s definitely worth the wait.“
“I can’t get enough of this place and every time I’m in the city I make sure to either visit or place an order! You can’t beat the customer service and the food. THE FOOD IS SO TOP NOTCH. I recommend anyone to order from here. The most accommodating and supportive business possible.“
“This is the only Portuguese restaurant that treat all customers equal I didn't had to wait too long or was ignored! Vera is super friendly and her menus is amazing ? her prices is outstandingly affordable with a bountiful amount of food in your plate, ?️ , I find her food is much more tasty than other Portuguese BBQ restaurants, she is super kind?I recommend her to anyone in this neighbourhood to try her food.“
“Definitely the best karaage I've had, and up there with some of the best chicken I've ever had. It's much better than any karaage from the many ramen places I've visited. This place truly puts their main focus on perfecting it, instead of treating it as a side dish. Perfectly tender, juicy, and flavorful. Really, really great stuff. I recommend the Momo (thigh) and Tabasaki (wing).“
“I came here for some dinner today and I really enjoyed the sushi! The people working there were really nice, friendly and patient. They made me feel very welcome, and the restaurant was really clean and tidy ☺️ Everything in my california roll was fresh and tasty! I definitely would return back again! ☺️“
“Fresh, crispy and hot bungeoppang (or taiyaki) filled with creamy custard is the perfect snack to go! Surprisingly, the custard isn't too sweet so it is so balanced in flavor. Although it may seem pricey, it always makes me come back for more. Note that you have to bring cash though.“
“Good and affordable. Many restaurants raise prices over last few years. Stuu stuu went the opposite direction and adjusted the offering. The curry is still great and filling, with a bit less meat than before at a price hard to find elsewhere. No more beef stews.Unlike most Japanese curry places, Stuu stuu curry includes vegetables mixed in, a bit sweet, really adds to the flavor. One negative:The paper takeout bags cannot hold much weight. Even when double bagged, the strings from both bags broke immediately upon leaving the restaurant. That's two out of two times it happened. Luckily I brought my own bag.“
“First time trying Jerk Up Central and I was very happy I did. Lots of great parking, very friendly shop owner and damn good food!! I was hoping to try the Cow Foot special but it wasn't available, I did try the large jerk chicken, ox tail and jerk pork. All three were delicious and great portion sizes. Not to mention, the price is well worth the portion. Keep up the great food and prices Jerk Up!“
“We were at AP for my friend Cathy's birthday. I chose this place because we both love uni and can't wait to try Egg on egg on egg. We ordered The tasting menu and ordered from the a la cart as well because Egg on egg on egg is not part of the tasting menu . Needless to say, the food was delicious, our server Anne was warm, informative, on time and helpful throughout the whole process of the tasting menu. The sake and wine pairing is top notch, we shared one flight between two of us and it was enough for us both. At the end, when we needed to take a photo, the Rakesh was so attentive and took his time with photos, and making sure the skyline was captured and we were a good angle. I was so impressed and I wanted to tip him but he refused. I was just in awe with such amazing service from both Anne and Rakesh. The ambience was perfect, not too loud and just busy enough that we can have a quiet conversation. I would recommend this highly.“
“You what they say never judge a book by its cover..well this restaurant doesn't look enough from outside but i can guarantee their biryani is out of this world i cannot find better biryani in downtown than this place my taste buds r very indian nd pakistani nd their biryani just delivers that what it lacks in size makes up for it in food nd quality“
“Burgers are very tasty. Banquet Burger is especially good with a good-sized bacon in it, which is not overcooked to a tasteless dry bit like in most other burger places. It's a takeout place, akin to McD, order, wait a little bit, and go, but with no sit down eating areas. Commenting on the atmosphere there is superfluous. It just does not apply. I still gave it 5 stars because the place is cleaner than McD, with fewer people, virtually no lines. Wait time for an order was less than 5 min.“
“The basque burnt cheesecake with the salted caramel sauce on top is truly otherworldly. It is the perfect combination of rich, sweet and salty. I crave it often and have to stop myself from ordering it more frequently. They also make a great homemade tiramisu if you enjoy that flavour profile. I will say the carrot cake and almond pain au chocolat weren't my absolute favourite, but the other offerings more than make up for it!“
“Stopped in here unexpectedly to get coffee and the breakfast sandwich called my name. It was by far the best breakfast sandwich ever. Beautiful fluffy egg, tasty crisp bacon, noticeable but not overwhelming hot sauce and a glorious little pickle to bring the whole thing together. If Ronald McDonald and The Michelin Man woke up together and needed a cure for their hangover, this is probably what they’d cook up. Service was also warm and friendly. I’ll be back.“
“Amazing food! I was there for the 2019 Toronto Polish Festival and had their "Big Polish Dinner" which consisted of 1 sausage, 1 cabbage roll (good size), 5 perogies and coleslaw. First time having their food, and even though I don't live close, I am going to come back many times! Good service and nice staff too :)“
“Biggest regret is not coming here sooner. Amazing amount of food that you could easily turn into two meals, but all these Korean staples were fresh, tasty and harmonious in the “bento box” format. Secret star of my order was the sweet soy lotus root, which was a unique, crunchy way to get that soy kick I crave with Korean cuisine.Karaage chicken was sensational (would recommend getting a second serving of the KFC aioli), but can’t wait to try the other menu options.“
“I have tried a couple of poke bowl restaurants and found this to be one of the best. I always get the Hawaii Bowl, and it never disappoints. The salmon is torched to perfection. The crispy onions add crunchiness to the bowl. Overall, a well balanced meal. However, it is pricey.“
“This place is out of this world. The buffalo chicken sandwich while expensive at $15 is one of the best chicken sandwiches in Toronto and worth every penny. The burger and chicken tenders are also very, very good. The staff made fresh food all the way up to close which is rare these days. Overall, highly recommended!“
“What I had: pierogies (6 pcs) $5.25 Taste: 4/5 These pierogies were pretty nice. The wrapper was al dente and the filling was flavourful. It was my first time having it with sour cream and they went pretty well together. Vibe: 3.5/5 Small, clean and modest. Service: 4/5 The staff were pretty friendly.“
“Got the Sunday Platter takeout with all the trimmings. Great Meal and deal for two.The Jerk chicken quality & spiciness was on point; curry made grandma happy, and callaloo was delightful. Rice and pigeon peas was moist and tasty and the home made Mac and cheese is the real Caribbean deal. Also bought a yummy like-home bake and saltfish to eat on site. Vibe is aight for a quick bite and they have a great expresso coffee machine and all the juice/ting beverages. My new fave place on Weston. Family-run“
“Great little spot along Dundas. Working at Mondelez I have been here often. Excellent veal and chicken sandwich. Fries and gravy are cheap. They are Costco fries. Nice and crispy. The only thing that sucks is the inconsistency. Especially on the meat lovers panzerotti. One day I came and it was loaded with toppings. Came back the next and very few toppings inside. Same with the sandwiches I feel. Depends who's working on how much chicken and or veal you get on it. I always add mozzarella and a few jalapenos. Sandwiches are great value for the money. Nice people and No frills vibe.“
“I'm writing this review while in Athens Greece. I've been in Greece for over a month and I've been trying pork gyro all over every day and no gyro here has been better than Alexandros. I want to go home to Toronto to eat the best Greek gyro at Alexandros.“
“I had a wedding catering lunch box delivered to me once, and the adults praised me because they did such a great job.I've had a hard time cooking these days, so I've ordered meal kits twice recently, and really... can all the food be this delicious?? ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠI'm looking forward to the next meal kit side dish. Thank you for making it delicious❣️?“
“Cute little hidden gem on Bay st ??Delicious cappuccino and breakfast sandwiches ☕️? Oh and the choc chip cookie is scrumptious as well ? I came here for breakfast and then went back for a grilled veggie sandwich for lunch. So happy to have found this place as it’s a short 5m walk from my office ? Looking forward to trying more things on the menu!Update: Tried the $5 pasta Tues special and it was great! Had the tomato marinara and next week will try the basil pesto ?“
“We're big fans of the signature Egg Club sammy. The Japanese Milk Bread is amazing if you've never tried it. Amazing breakfast or brunch food for any occasion. We've been here several times I've the past year since they opened and love the experience each time for dine in or to go. If you're doing in, you'll enjoy their music - covers of popular songs as pop electric. Get's you going while eating some delicious egg Sammie's.Side note: ask for Hollandaise sauce to swap for classic sauce if you haven't tasted it yet and compare which one you like more.“
