“Wow! We have been fans of Dean's Homestyle Cafe for many years. When the new owner's took it over this year, we were concerned about whether the comfortable, flavorful, "homestyle" experience we were used to would remain. The new team has done great! The staff is super friendly and working hard to make people feel welcome, learning names of regulars, and carrying on a place with a great reputation. The food is still excellent with super generous, well prepared portions and very reasonable prices. Well done!”

“Stopped by here after Taekwondo one evening and we were not disappointed! My daughter and I loved the atmosphere, the service, and most importantly the food. We got our food to-go and it did not compromise the flavor or texture of anything at all. The side dishes of the Japchae, Kimchi, and Corn Slaw went so well with the main dishes. I cannot wait to come back for more of the chicken, and to try the rest of the menu!”

“Good cider. The outside patio was not set up on a nice 75 degree day. The flight of ciders is fun and affordable. We ordered the pretzel and the one we were served was lopsided so half was quite overcooked and crunchy, but the side that looked like it was supposed to was delicious. The dish is good, they just should not have served the individual pretzel we received. Overall good spot that is family friendly with a fun environment. Not too crowded.”

“One of the best Teriyaki places in the area.

The young gentleman working the front was just amazing. He was managing a VERY fast flow of customers and kept very pleasant and professional demeanor.

Like everyone has said, portions for the price are pre-pandemic quantities and the quality of the chicken was excellent. It was cooked with prefect char.

Salad was fresh and plentiful (iceberg--but at least fresh--unlike my last teriyaki experience.)

“We were greeted by a friendly server and asked for our drink order. I've been here before and I enjoy the Amber beer on tap but it's usually out, and once again it was out. You would think if the Amber beer sells out all the time you would have more than one available and not 10 IPAs!
We ordered chicken sandwich and a burger and they were both very good

“My daughter asked my something to eat I was clueless what can I buy for her to eat so I spot Great Harvest Bread Co I admit I never had hear this place before also did not know they sell soup. I ask the cashier what they have for kids mw knowing that my daugther is so picky to eat just 6 years old and the cashier was so kind on offer I think it was a potaoe soup with halft of Turkey sándwich, for my surprice the soup brings chip, and a delicious bread, my daugther LOVES IT she ate all both of it I was SPEACHLESS because knowing her is A headache when it is time for eat. She keeps saying it’s so YUMMY mama and told by now on it will be her FAVORITE place to eat!!!”

“My friend and I decided to come and have happy hour and we ordered california roll the wagu beef sliders the cod tacos and the fishermens stew. I enjoyed the sliders very much. The california roll had more rice than filling but, the crab meat, avocado and cucumber had good flavor but the quantity was very small. the cod tacos didn't say it was blackened with spices that were a little more than my taste buds could handle. the fishermens stew was very flavorfull and had well cooked fish and seafood. I would not recommend the california roll because of the amount of rice.”

“So I like to ride my motorcycle out to Twin Perks Kalama and this Saturday I brought a friend. his motorcycle battery caught fire in the drive thru of the espresso stand! Hailey was working and she catered to us so well. I'm not advertising you should break down at the espresso stand but if you have to, pray Hailey is working. She was extraordinarily accommodating to us. She was helpful, sympathetic, and charming. I wish I could adequately convey how grateful I am to have met Hailey. I will happily give this girl a 5 star review and I will be a repeat customer!”

Lovely service, phone and in-person.

I tell you my ditsy boyfriend dropped his wallet out in the front! Manager tried so hard she even went to trying to find him on Instagram to get a hold of him. Luckily I knew he was such a ditsy that he'd do something like drop his wallet in the parking lot. So upon calling lovely Jill, we found that sure enough he was indeed ditsy enough to drop it!

But in all, Jill was very lovely, the manager was very lovely, and this whole experience just goes to show how much their team is worth buying cakes from. Definitely going there again!

While this doesn't happen to everyone, supporting a team like this is 100% worth it.

Not only was it fresh but you can tell the food was cooked on a clean surface. Prices are very well managed and provide you a very large amount of food for an affordable price. Definitely will be returning when I’m in the area again. The man working the till provided me ample time with no rush and didn’t go anywhere before I was ready to place my order.”

“Some of the most delicious Mexican food I’ve had in a while! Enchiladas, amazing. Pastor meat, flavorful! Went on a Monday afternoon. Not busy. Fast and friendly service. Bus your own table. Clean, lovely salsa bar too!!”

“I’ve been to this location a few times now and there’s a lot to like BUT... The coffee is great, donuts are fine (don’t really live up to the Portland level hype), but the seating feels a little like hostile architecture. On the wood benches there’s a lip at the top that digs into your back. I can’t take it for more than 10min and I leave in pain. I rarely write negative comments but the pain in my back compels me to share this to warn other coffee+donut shop nomads. They have WiFi but no bathroom (at least they said they didn’t when I was there) I want chains like this to succeed but I don’t understand how an owner allows this kind of thing to slide.”

“Nothing bad to say about the workers or cookie quality. They are sold out quite often though like right now seriously all the good cookies are sold out so not even placing an order. Not sure if it’s because of the holidays or what but seems to always be at least one good one not available. Pride is a bit steep as well.”

“Teriyaki Land is one of those spots you kind of want to gatekeep, because it feels like a true hidden gem. The food is unreal teriyaki beef = GOAT, teriyaki chicken = GOAT, pork fried rice = GOAT. Every dish tastes fresh, flavorful, and way better than you’d expect from such a chill little place.

And then, just when you think it’s a normal teriyaki joint, you notice the koi pond. It’s not huge or fancy more like a funny little bonus you don’t expect but it adds to the charm. The vibe here is relaxed, the food is next-level, and the whole experience feels unique.

Low key, I don’t want this place to get busier… but high key, it deserves all the love.”

“Let me just start by saying that it is hard to impress this Missouri boy with BBQ! The pulled pork sandwich was excellent (though a bit salty) and the sauce tangy. The Mac and cheese was excellent as was the Apple coleslaw.

I ordered at the First Friday event in Milwaukie. Only thing I’d ask is maybe a choice between pulled pork and brisket.”

“Usually going here is a breeze and everyone has a great smile! But there are other times like today that the orders are made incorrectly and I just don't have the time to wait for them to correct it, which I should give myself more time. A cold iced drink on a 27° degree morning, when the drink is supposed to be hot just made me not excited about it at all. But the new gal at the window with the braids was so very nice.”

“I like just about everything about Chick-fil-A, just a couple minor complaints which are hardly worth mentioning; The dips or sauces that you are given to go with your meal do not open easily, four out of four partially tore the top and so there's no dipping to be done so we were left with having to shake or pour out of a fairly small hole in the foil topping. Also the Chick-fil-A we visited did not have outdoor seating which is always nice when the weather is nice! Our chicken sandwiches were superb and the waffle fries perfect, and the young man serving us very professional however! 👍”
