“Aside from the great tasting ice cream, Salt & Straw has the most eclectic flavors of ice cream that include pear & blue cheese as well as honey lavender however they have most of the classic flavors as well. The staff are very willing to let you try whatever flavors you want and encourage you to try everything.

I settled on a waffle cone with chocolate gooey brownie and it was fabulous! I tried the pear & blue cheese and the hazelnut cookies and cream. The flavor of blue cheese dominated and lingered. I love blue cheese and it was a nice experience to see how that was made into ice cream.”

While we were exploring and looking for something new to do, we came across Mann’s and noticed that it had new management so we gave it a try. I just had to share how pleased we were with the new interior, friendly and professional staff, and excellent food. I am well travelled, but this clam chowder was the best I have ever tasted. I’m probably going to wish I didn’t post this review - adding to the reservation waiting list will interfere with our spontaneity, but it was just that good. “I stopped at a great little place and had a large French Roast coffee and a breakfast sandwich ham egg and cheese on a fresh croissant. 2 min and I was enjoying a great sandwich at a great value. I met Joo and he was very friendly. They are pet friendly with free dog treats. Enjoy staying and eat inside or sit outside below large very impressive trees that I am sorry I can’t tell you the species.
Anyway stop by and enjoy a quick bite and coffee. He also has an espresso machine to make anything to rival a Starbucks but at much better price point.”

“this place USED to be great, when the owners cared about their staff and customers. they now no longer care. I realized this after being electrocuted due to the owners not wanting to hire electricians and plumbers to do the work needed. the company stopped really truly caring about their staff when they moved to this location. all staff is expected to be on call every day for any shift, while being paid the minimum wage and no wage for staying on call. it also was a realization that they didn't care when I was expected to pump breastmilk for my newborn in an area that was not private and was in view of customers when I did need to pump. no employee is relieved of duty for a break and often times expected to work 10+ hours, and not always knowing I'd relief would show up. yes they used to be a good place, they no longer are. oh and the tacos are not made to health standards....while they are safe we were told to use a slow cooker and not tell health authorities how we cooked the meat.”

I appreciate how thorough they are.. always asking if I need napkins, plates and crushed peppers. My pizza yesterday was accidentally made wrong with herbs. Every time I come here, they hand me a spicy chicken sandwich with the kind of accuracy and warmth usually associated with a beloved grandmother or a highly trained diplomatic corps. The order is always right. The staff is always absurdly pleasant. The sandwich arrives hot, juicy, and spicy enough to remind me that I am still tethered to earthly sensation.

I do not come here for a political awakening. I come here because the waffle fries are crisp, the chicken is reliable, and for one brief shining moment in a world of chaos, someone looks me in the eye and says “my pleasure” like they mean it.
