“I grew up on Gubanc's and was pleasantly surprised to see that 25 years after I left the area its charm and outstanding food still remain. As always the soup was delicious. I was elated to see that the soup board was still on the menu. The interior of the place looked basically unchanged, yet didn't feel old or dingy. Now that Stanfords is gone I'lldefinitely be making this a regular stop when I'm in town.“
“Nestled discreetly within a modest urban strip mall, and positioned tantalizingly close to the Nansen Summit, Walter Mitty's Restaurant and Bar seamlessly delivers a gratifying dining experience wrapped in an unpretentious ambiance. During my visit, Susan, my gracious server, revealed the area's hidden treasures, painting a vivid picture of local gems for me to explore while I savored my meal. Her insightful guidance ensured that I departed not only satiated but also armed with a trove of captivating destinations to discover during my stay.“
“A great local bar with some of the best bartenders in the area. Solid selection of liquors. Always excellent tunes playing. TV's for sports. And video slots. The newer machines and games, and in a good location inside. A regular haunt for us.“
“Things to dig about the Record Pub: - Music for every type of listener. -Bar to sit down for a drink and think about what records you need to add to your arsenal. -Staff to talk about your selections with. -Educated suggestions for additional beats based upon the ensuing conversation of music you’ll have with the bartender. -Finishing another beverage all happy and giddy about the new vinyl you’re taking home.“
“Went here for the first time on Tuesday. Great spot for beer in a charming old house! The staff was very nice and I could tell they take a lot of pride in the beautiful space they've created. And Erica's Soul Food cart on the back patio was Delicious!“
“This is an amazing local bar that I hope never becomes famous. It’s full of locals who enjoy an amazing dining experience with some great beers. The owner is one amazing lady who is fully engaged in the bar and loves her customers and it absolutely shows. I will definitely be back to this place multiple times, I had a fantastically fun night and I want to thank everybody I met there tonight. Big shout out to Amanda. It was her first night tonight and she was absolutely amazing.“
“We met friends there the other day and had a great time in on oh the bars (I can’t remember which one!). The service was great and the appetizers were delicious!Food & drinks: We got the tots, pizza and some fries. They were all great. My husband had a sour beer which was really good and I had a cider and a mixed drink that was fantastic!“
“Despite the restaurant being quaint, the energy inside is electric! The posters on the wall are just so cool, my friends and I tried to identify all the movies (and dramas?) we've watched. And the food is so delicious! We had the corn dogs which were delicious, and the tteokbokki was amazing! We also ordered the spicy sweet and regular soy garlic chicken and they were really good, too. I think the spicy sweet could be a little spicier as well. And the bossam! I still think about it at times. It was delicious! I want to go back ASAP.“
“I've stopped by many times over the years to leave concert posters and postcards, but last night was the first time I had a meal there. The pork shoulder and fried brussels sprouts in hoisin sauce over noodles, side salad with blue cheese dressing, and a pint of doppelbock. It was absolutely delicious, a perfect end to a long day running around all over. Comfortable seating, friendly folks, books all around you, low key live music. They let us know they'd just tuned the piano, but the solo act started in before I had a chance to try out a little low key Brahms. :-) Maybe next time.“
“I got the Paloma, Forager pizza, and the artichoke dip.10/10. Don’t sleep on this spot!Hands down the best artichoke dip. Creamy, full of veggies, and so tasty.Pizza was awesome. I personally love Detroit style pizza but I’ve never had one with an oil instead of sauce on top. SOO good! The crust has a crunchy outside throughout which is sometimes not the case at other establishments.Paloma was top notch. Loved our first visit, can’t wait to come back.“
“The Highland Stillhouse was an outstanding place for a first date! The building was impressive from the outside and I was blown away when I went inside, everywhere I looked were visual treats to take in. There were so many rooms to explore, even an upstairs, and the bathroom was really spacious and cool.I am looking forward to coming back again and trying some food ?“
“If you’re a German beer lover, this is a must stop place for you. They have a great selection of German beers. What’s great about this place, is that you can get them on tap! Which in my opinion gets you a little closer to the real thing. No matter what, it will never taste the same as it does in Germany. I highly recommend the Köstritzer Schwarzlager (Black Lager) on tap. It’s like liquid bread. Well balanced dark beer, but without the heaviness of a stout. Their food menu is limited, but it’s not bad. There are several food carts to choose from in the terrace surrounding it. Prost, mein Deutsche Brüder!“
“Aunt Tillie's is *so* good! The people running it seem genuinely nice, the vibe is relaxed, service is great, and it's one of the best sandwiches you'll ever eat. If you want a meal that tastes homemade and is reasonably priced, go here. They also have old fashioned milk shakes (my teenager really appreciated that as you might imagine).Last words of praise: the portion sizes are totally under control in a world where portion sizes are out of control. If you're extra hungry, get a sandwich with a side. If you're just normal hungry, a sandwich by itself will fill you up but won't drag you down.“
“Surprisingly very cozy inside and spacious while keeping it intimate. Aesthetics were really curated you can tell with the quality of craftsmanship for the bar, tables, chairs and a beautiful wall library with couch like seats! Not to mention the magical courtyard perfectly shaded. Fabian was warm and fun;)“
“This is one of the BEST local taphouses in Beaverton. There are always so many great choices for beer, seltzers, ciders and wine. You can bring outside food in. So go down to the food carts, grab a meal and enjoy the best beers in town at CST.“
“Delicious fish & chips, and we had excellent, speedy and attentive service in an awesome atmosphere with tons of indoor and outdoor seating. Good draft beer selection. Only one cider on tap unfortunately. Food was a bit pricier than we expected for a brewpub kind of place but delicious and we were happy with our experience nonetheless. We would definitely return!“
“Dependable legit British pub grub. The vibe is perfect. Other than the accents, this could be a pub in England or Ireland. There are several dart stations throughout the pub. Huge beer selection. The best thing that I've eaten there are the fish and chips. They are halibut, therefore on the smaller side. But you can order a three-piece which is adequate. The coleslaw they serve with it is flavorless. It's neither sweet nor vinegar. The fries are decent. The chicken pot pie is bone dry. The steak and mushroom pie is less than great too. The chicken sandwich is decent. Check out my profile for more great eateries and craft cocktail bars. ✌?“
“The enchanted Forrest pizza sub zucchini for broccoli & sub kalamata olives for black olives & ADD field roast sausage - is hands down my favorite vegan pizza in Portland with a GF option those substitutions make it mostly alkaline (except the sau“
“Years ago I worked with Bill at Hayden's and only recently learned this was his place. Last night I finally got to get there for a take out dinner and it was AWESOME! Great job Team. We will definitely be back. ps - How did you get the bread on the Hall Street Italian SO PERFECTLY TOASTED?!?! And my son loved the Cheesy Garlic Bread. Great Portions for the price! thank you thank you“
“AleFire = beer and hot sauce. That’s a damn good balance, like yin and yang. It’s a spot to chill and have some beers. But also for just stopping by and picking up some good hot sauce. There are three full refrigerators of hot sauce choices. Staff is helpful if you want to find something new.“
“This is one of our go to neighborhood friendly bars for food and drinks. Nothing fancy, no frills bar but really good food and drinks at really good prices. The Park City Phillies on the fresh baked bread are delicious along with the Burgers, Tater Tots, and the Park City Salad with Grilled Chicken for our watching what we eat option. Had the meatloaf special and it too was delicious.“
“Best beer, battered fish, and chips made with halibut that I have found in Portland Oregon. It's a bar so kids aren't allowed. Service is fast and friendly and the halibut. Fish and chips are very reasonably priced. Check out their weekly specials.“
“I love going into the Stone, especially when Amelia is working. She is such a gem of a woman. Always fun, engaging with interesting conversations and makes me feel safe going there by myself. The drink specials are always inventive, delicious, and the food is killer.“
“At least 20 ciders on tap. Wide variety of styles and tastes. Most are apple-based, but a number are blends with other things. Some of the ciders, have no apple in them at all.A very enjoyable place, and for what I tasted the ciders were very good!“
“I came to Hops on Tap to see a band perform. As a concert venue, Hops on Tap does a great job! The band sets up in a large area in one of the "main corners" of the venue, and all tables have a good view. The interior is also very brightly-lit, which is appreciated. There are shelves with lots of board and card games, and several patrons come regularly to enjoy music and play games. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and you may see a radio-controlled R2D2 make an appearance at the end of the night. Food is serviceable, but is nothing noteworthy. The soft pretzel is clearly a SuperPretzel, and a lot of what's on the menu, and things like napkins, etc. appear to come from Costco. Not that there's anything wrong with this, of course, and I'll probably opt for something different than a sandwich on my next visit (perhaps their "scratch-made" soup). I was very happy that Hops on Tap offers Kombucha on-tap as well. Parking is very simple as Hops on Tap is in a very large shopping center with its own equally large parking lot. If you want a good place to see live music, Hops on Tap fits the bill nicely!“
“We love it here. Real company, welcoming and FUN! I highly suggest you stop by and hang out to get the vibe for yourself. It will be a regular hang out for me and my girls. Just love it, that’s for giving us a good reason to go back to the neighborhood we grew up in ❤️ Love love love the owner he is a good guy!“
“Picked this place because reviews said it was dog friendly. Pizza was REALLY good and it made for a filling affordable lunch. Dogs enjoyed the patio. My server Becky did a great job keeping my drinks filled and checking in on me. I will be returning!“
“The Firkin Tavern is hands-down one of the coolest spots in town, especially on nights when my band, Izy Kactus, hits the stage. It’s like this hidden gem that just explodes with energy and good vibes every time we play. The place packs out, creating this electric atmosphere that’s hard to find anywhere else. What sets The Firkin Tavern apart isn’t just the crowds, though. The bartenders are legends—quick with a drink, always smiling, and somehow make you feel like you’re the only person they’re serving, even when the place is bursting at the seams. It's the kind of service that makes a night unforgettable. But it's more than just a bar; it's a community hub. It doesn’t matter who you are or where you come from; the moment you step through those doors, you're part of the Firkin family. It’s got this great neighborhood vibe that’s welcoming to everyone, making it the perfect spot for a casual night out or to catch some live music.Whether you're there for the tunes, the drinks, or the company, The Firkin Tavern delivers. It’s become our go-to spot not just for gigs but for any night we want to guarantee a good time. If you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out on one of the best experiences the city has to offer.“
“Breakfast is decent. The wait to get your food isn't long at all, average on a very busy day. This place is frequently wall to wall packed. Very kind service, it feels like a family owned environment. I wish they had more selection for breakfast. There isn't much selection“
“It's kind of a idk, run down joint but the people that go there are really kewl and the bartenders are very friendly. I won 200 off of a twenty in one of their machines and now they are my favorite spot! I didn't eat there so idk about the food. Go there for the atmosphere!“
“Came here cuz I heard the Mac n cheese was some of the best in the city!Sadly it was good but not quite "the best" however the price point didn't leave me disappointed. Quite reasonable for what you get!Beer selection is incredible and the atmosphere is quiet but not too quiet and everyone was super friendly. Nice mid west neighbor tavern vibes. Very comfortable!I'll be back to try the burger :)“
“Just grabbing some suds with some industry colleagues was a great experience. I ordered a beer, and when the waitress saw that it had more bubblies than it should, she brought me a fresh one, no questions asked. Always refreshing to get to notch service!“
“It was nice It was a nice atmosphere I enjoyed the staff, and the food was amazing I'd like to say that I enjoyed the company of the people around me. It's a Bar, with a restaurant atmosphere , I really enjoyed my time there I came from out of town and I know every time I come to Portland I will be going to Tabor “
“The vibe of this spot is wonderful. ??☂️Walked in on an early cold & cloudy Saturday afternoon. The woody rock ? classic tavern vibes had me feeling at home. Had no problem knocking clean a whole turkey reuben and coke.Could sit and digest before heading out, even when it got busy. Noticed almost everyone else had ordered reubens too. ?*Worked at a restaurant in Florida for some years and folks loved our reubens, but they don't come close to these. ✅“
“Just moved to the neighborhood a few months ago and found this gem across the street. Didn't expect to feel so welcome at a bar where the walls have elk heads mounted along with old shotguns above the urinal. Never judge a book by it's cover. Try the chowder on Fridays and the collards on any day!“
“Barleycorn," of course, refers to the barley used in malt liquor. And aren't we glad it does? Inside John Barleycorns, you'll find a nice, dark, cozy space — topped by a dramatic cathedral ceiling — and McMenamins-strength ales and spirits. Outside, the terrace is surrounded by a garden.Stop by with family and friends for a pint or two, handcrafted in-house.Happy Happy Hour 2-5 everyday“
“I’ve lived in the neighborhood for years and I’m embarrassed to say I’ve never been in this place before. Sorta looks closed from the outside. It was very good burgers and chips. Very cozy, and super friendly —-will definitely go back.“
“Paddy's is a straight 10 in my book, these guys know how to make drinks better than anyone in town. They set a high standard that you just can't get anywhere else. The personalities here are always a good vibe, some good lighthearted banter is always welcome. You bet I'll be back as soon as I can. Thank yall for a great time.“
“It was so good I didn't even take pictures of it before I started digging in. The toast was perfect (weird place to start, I know, but I saved it for last, so it's freshest in my memory). Nice variety of little smuckers jellies. Hashbrowns were crispy on the top, my favorite texture for hashbrowns. Eggs were scrambled perfectly, not runny and not overcooked. Corned beef hash was good, I like mine a bit crisper than it was, but that's personal preference and not reflection on the cook. Music was on point.Service was really friendly and thoughtful. We walked in on accident, we were following Google maps to another restaurant nearby and didn't pay attention to where the place was, but it worked out. ?“
“The best beer bar in Portland as far as I'm concerned.Welcoming atmosphere, friendly peeps, and GREAT beers, both on tap and packaged. Prices are extremely reasonable. There's usually a 3rd party food vendor, but you can also bring your own. And they've been open everyday for the last 5000+ days!If you like beer and/or bar culture, you should have already visited this place. But if you haven't, there's no time like the present!“
“Joanna was a great hostess and the food was excellent! ~ 35 minute wait for 6 at prime time on a Saturday didn’t feel bad. Convenient parking… good selection of gluten free options too.Dietary restrictions: Good variety of GF and Vegan optionsParking: Convenient parking garage across the street.Kid-friendliness: Kids welcome!“
“The sandwiches and burgers here are so phenomenal I've been thinking about them for days after. There are a variety of beer styles -- not just IPAs -- and the beers on tap are excellent. If you're looking for a large tap list or frequent new things to try this isn't the place to go.“
“Fun atmosphere with lots of TV’s for all of the football. Portable, lottery and pinball. Simple eats but good. Bar was quick and solid. Bartender was friendly and service was him and also good. We had cocktails and nachos and watched some football. Nice stop in after walking around Multnomah Village. Food carts down the street. Parking is a bit dicey with no parking lot but we lucked out with parking right in front. Tons of pedestrians so keep an eye out.“
“Favorite local watering hole. I honestly don't want to give a review because this place is awesome and the food is incredible and the staff(90% of them) are welcoming and wonderful and I want to be selfish and have it all to myself....but they deserve the shout out ten-fold. The main guy, Chris, is VERY accommodating, and the chef behind the curtain actually cares about the food he puts out. Also...pudding shots. I would buy this by the bucket if I could.“
“For a tavern type place this is 5 star. Small and quirky. Funky bar top, a pool table and a pretty diverse set of slots, this is a good midday stop. Cheeseburger, chicken fried steak, onion rings and tots were all good. Will swing by again when we are in the area.“
“The three bar backs Jonathan, Kevin and Savanah killed it both Monday and Tuesday night I came for food and brews. The brewery was super busy but never felt unattended. Highly recommend this place. If I’m back in the Portland area I will be back.“
“Not sure what you would expect from a pub and grill- the food was great, the service was great, and the atmosphere was that of a friendly, local bar. Was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. Have driven by this place for years and finally stopped in and I was NOT disappointed! Will definitely be back!“
“Another cozy and unique theater! This building is artwork. Everywhere you look there's something that catches the eye. There's a restaurant attached to it as well so you can get food delivered to you while you watch the movie if you didn't grab any before hand. If you do this option you'll have to sit up stairs. It's fun though especially if you get the seats right at the edge. P.S. there is a restroom on this floor, if you are looking at the screen its on the right hand side.I love their popcorn, pretzels w/ cheese sauce and a pitcher of cider. They usually have three options to choose from.Every time I go, people are pleasant and it's a joy to talk to them.Side note: If you haven't been to McMenamins locations before all the ones I've been to are so much fun. So much detail goes into their spaces and it's always an adventure.I can't wait till next time.Cheers ?“
“Great place ,I met the owner friendly courtesy, very accommodating, was will to turn the grill back on for food ,plus the owner took time to see us out the door and that we made it to our cars safely at closing time, this is a place and people that I will come back to visit again when I come to visit in Portland, I live in Klamathfalls, Oregon“
“Met old friends here, they recommended the fish and chips, possibly the best I have ever had! One giant piece of fresh fish in a crisp batter.Parking: We parked two blocks away on the street, I could see it being more of an issue at popular times.“
