“Not sure if it was an understaffed afternoon, but it took an hour for our food and our order was completely wrong. The staff seemed very tired/grumpy. I didn't want to say anything, because I was starving and didn't want to wait any longer. It was still good, but a bit disappointing that I ordered/paid for a more expensive dish, but I received a cheaper meal. The food was still good, just not what I ordered.I also noticed a few other customers coming back up to the counter after reviewing their food, so I'm thinking we weren't the only ones with the wrong order. No big deal. The reason for 4 stars is more of the cleanliness of the restaurant. Sticky floors, and the bathroom was not exactly pleasant or clean. There is also a serious lack of tables in this location, definitely more of a "pick up" location compared to other Roxy's.It could have just been a bad day, but I likely will just visit Canby Roxy's instead.“
“It’s a fun tiki bar in Portland known for its tropical vibe and creative cocktails. With Polynesian-inspired decor and festive drinks served in tiki mugs, it's a popular spot to relax and enjoy a taste of island life. For a first timer it was great! You will not want to leave“
“Ono Grindz ! Seriously broke da mouf! Have tried quite a few local spots ,Hawaiian restaurants, food carts around Portland surroundings and this one stands out. Now that I'm a vegetarian it was the temptation of the hurrikanes chicken and honestly it was worth it. Mac salad is on point and best I've had in a very long time . Rice cooked to perfection. What ever you doing sistah, keep it up. Will be back as everything was fresh and made with a smile.“
“This food is amazing. It is obvious the chef cares deeply about the food he prepares. The prices are more than reasonable, especially considering the size of plates. The value of money spent for product you get can not be beat anywhere. I'll always recommend this place first for catering or grabbing some lunch. 5 star for real!!!“
“Comfort food at its finest. Guys working there are super chill and set us up with all their sauces. We took some time deciding what we wanted because all of it sounded so good. My brother got the trifecta combo and my husband and I each got the chicken sandwich. My only complaint is that the sandwiches were a little hard to pick up and eat just because they were so loaded. Don't let the website pictures fool you - these portions are huge (and the prices very affordable). My husband and I could have easily split one sandwich but instead have leftovers for tomorrow. :) everything just pairs well together. The menu has been well thought-out and I think we need to come back to try more!“
“Small, cute little shop! Nice selection of drinks and Onigiri, my kids loved them. The only thing I didn’t really like was that each Onigiri was wrapped in plastic wrap and kept warm like that; I think it would be better to wrap in food safe paper and foil so the possibility of plastic particles getting into the food is lessened.“
“Can’t hate on a busy business with a good atmosphere, great food, and quality service. This new location was very busy but they got our food out in under fifteen minutes. Line was to the door. I will be recommending this place to all of my friends.“
“I purchased lunch for my team at work and every one of us couldn’t get enough. To quote one person “it’s like a flavor party in my mouth!” Is an understatement. All of the flavors were perfectly paired, and not overpowering with one or the other. I can’t wait to get more!“
“Came from Seattle for shopping. This was our last place before heading back. Was a great place to dine in. Small amount of tables for customers, but was setting available at 7pm Saturday.Place was had many customers come in and out for to go orders. Had live music, and was told they have this Wednesdays and Saturdays. Not sure what time.Food was great. 808 fried chicken is highly recommended. And macaroni salad was very tasty. If you like that, order a extra side of it.Would definitely go back when I make another trip to Portland. Aloha.Parking: Plenty of parking not to worry about.“
“Ate Oh Ate has some amazing Hawaiian food. On our first visit we ordered the tofu teriyaki plate with salad and the shoyu chicken plate with macaroni salad and rice. This place did not disappoint. The tofu was super firm and well marinated in a very tasty teriyaki sauce. The shoyu chicken was also very good and the macaroni salad is super bomb. They also have a lime ginger hot sauce that really compliments the sauces they use on the meat and tofu. They serve a Mai Tai which cannot be beat in this town. The staff is attentive and friendly and our family has a had a great experience the two times we have been here. Cannot wait to come back try other options on the menu.“
“I've ordered from this place many times, but never actually been inside. The food is consistently good, fish is fresh, and the variety is good. Poke is fresh with delicious sauce options. I got the 8 poke options to share dish and most of them were delicious!“
“Oregon’s first Kava bar! Both the Portland and Vancouver locations offer a chill vibe with various comfy seating areas. The decor is authentic and honors the South Pacific culture without being kitschy. The Portland location features reclaimed wood from Indonesia. The Washington location boasts a stunning living wall. The kava is prepared traditionally and served in a coconut shell. The owner has spent a lot of time in the South Pacific personally meeting with his growers. And no distractions like tv screens or pool tables like an actual bar. Instead they offer things like board games and a guitar if you are lucky enough to play. There is a real sense of community in both locations with fun activities monthly at each location. I also like that they have chosen not to also serve Kratom out of respect for the ceremonial history of kava. It’s an experience!“
“Hands down the best Hawaiian food in Portland! Steven, was super friendly and explained his menu to me in detail. He adds his own Korean twist to the dishes that were passed down to him from his mom. The mac salad 10/10! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!“
“We stopped off at SeaSweets on a recent trip to Portland and hands down, they make the best poke bowls I've ever had. I am not easily impressed when it comes to seafood bowls, but SeaSweets has a very pleasant staff serving really high quality fish, delicious sauces, and toppings for days. Absolutely phenomenal.“
“Omg such an innovative food cart! I love the fusion of Hawaiian and Portuguese flavors. Wil is a delight and his food is always hot and freshly made. The sausage and eggs are spectacular and the kalua pork is not to be missed! Grab yourself a mixed plate for here and a musubi to go!“
“Love the food! Several kinds of poke to choose from, and they are all great! Fresh, healthy and delicious. Worth spending a little more. I eat here almost every week, and I plan to continue. The place is super clean and the service is friendly.“
“I was delighted to move back to this neighborhood so I could frequent this restaurant! Everything I've ever ordered here is delicious and the staff is always kind and helpful.Vegetarian options: Just wanted to add that the teriyaki tofu is amazing“
“This is my favorite place to get Hawaiian Food. The teriyaki chicken is excellent and the portions are huge. The Kalua Pig (shredded Pork) is a bit salty for my taste, but my kids love it.The staff is always incredibly friendly and create a great vibe.Parking: There is no parking lot but plenty of street parking on Sandy.Kid-friendliness: Plenty of space inside the restaurant. They have lots of Aloha themed children’s books to keep kids occupied while they wait for the food. And the wait for the food is typically pretty short.“
“I’ve been eating here, 15 years, maybe even longer who knows but I’ve only had like Five problems One time I didn’t get the extra macaroni that I wanted another time I didn’t get the extra Sauces I paid for that I wantedAnd I do eat here a lot I get the same thing if not more every time I usually get two large dishes for myself and one for my woman she as well has eaten here that long as well born in Oregon This was the first time we got our dishes with no sauces you know that delicious Noho’s teriyaki sauce.. Don’t get me wrong. It wasn’t cooked literally off the grill but no sauces they always top it off with all the teriyaki sauce they’re homemade teriyaki sauce, which makes it delicious. Alex, the manager at the time that I did not know gave me five sauces. I got home open it up found out that my meat had no sauce and only the sauce that they gave me was the five packs that was gonna do me nothing I go through a lot of sauce I always pay extra for sauce because it’s so delicious and I would’ve paid extra if I would’ve known I got dried meat but sure I brought it back. They made me too brand dishes lots of sauce, they even gave me a full bottle brand new, not open bottle of their homemade sauce, and everything was made us even came Mac salad because that’s my favorite too thank you Alex put it in the dishes and making it right“
“Friendly owners/operators. Had a issue thinking the food was off actually twice like bad smell. They made me something else which was kind. I shortly after determined it wasn't the food that was smelling bad but actually if was smell coming from the chopsticks I was using!!! So peeps sensitive to smell that like using chopsticks be aware perhaps go for the fork included in the bag instead. The husband in the kitchen is a talented photographer and has nice giant pictures of his on the wall in the dining area. I'll continue to be a returning customer. Was really worried for a second :-) Thanks.“
“Weston—best bartender ever!! Very engaging—great conversation about cocktails— bartending—I was a bartender back in college—many, many years ago — made me feel right at home even though I was solo.Great experience. And I love this place!! Great for families, kids,And as we age—sitting at the bar enjoying a great margaritaThanks for making me feel welcome ?“
“Amazing catering experience. Super great Hawaiian cuisine and the delivery & set up(customer service) was exceptional. BTW, the sauces are super good! If your looking to host a party, don’t miss out on what the Local Grind has to offer.“
“Moved here in 2009, been coming here since then and I haven't grown tired of this place yet. When nothing else sounds good this place always does the trick! Especially Love the chicken with sweet chili sauce and the tri-tip with teriyaki sauce.“
“Their spam masubi is the best I've found. Perfectly cooked rice, seared crispy spam, and just the right amount of a glaze. I can't stop talking about to my spouse....so much so that he told me "enough with your perfectly cooked rice and the seared spam with the glaze" lol Their bowls are also great if you want a bigger meal.“
“Menu looked awesome, only 2 vegetarian options, they were okay. Tofu was described as “a sea of flavors” which I’m not sure is accurate but it was fine. The meat though- looked and smelled SO GOOD. I mean who goes to a Hawaiian restaurant for tofu anyways lol everyone else loved their food, big fans of the teriyaki chicken and the ribs. Most dishes came with a side of Mac salad and rice. Maybe not the best for a vegetarian but for all others you’ll love it. Staff was so friendly and nice also. I would go back just for the vibes and smells“
“This is my son's favorite weekly go to. The food is consistent- grilled chicken is delicious, the nac salad is fresh, and you can grab extra sauce for your takeout. Staff is always friendly. The dining room is small and fairly basic. Better if you can sit outside by the "lake".Parking: Parking is a small lot and shared with another restaurant. The office building next-door has a larger parking lot but is fairly full during business hours.“
“Fantastic poke! Best I've ever had, hands down and I spend every year in Hawaii. Takeout only and a little hard to find but absolutely worth it. I was so pleasantly surprised to find this place after getting blocked in a parking lot nearby and stranded. I was able to go pick it up and eat it out of the back of my car.“
“I ordered the Kalua Pork and my girlfriend had the Katsu Chicken. Very hearty meals for a fair price. Owner is very friendly and happy to talk us through the different options available. Covered dining area with heaters nearby which is ideal for a cold March lunch.“
“This has honestly been a go-to spot for me and my family for a couple months now, and my entire family loves their food. My favorite plate from Aloha Grill would be the Big Elema. It comes with teriyaki chicken and katsu chicken, and with two scoops of rice and 1 scoop of Mac. Sauce recommendation would be their spicy mayo and katsu sauces! Hope you enjoy the food because it's amazing.“
“I hate and love that this place is a far drive from me because if it was close, I would be broke lol I absolutely love the variety of places they have to offer. The inside was very clean and open which was nice and the restaurants are super close to each other. I couldn't decide between sushi and Hawaiian so I decided to get both! Overall was very pleased with the place and will absolutely be going back to try out other places soon.“
“The second oldest tiki bar in the United States and well worth the trip to visit. Amazing decor, many of which are legitimate antiques. Outstanding food and drink menu. Try the kalbi beef ribs, they are some of the best I've ever had. Can't wait to come back.“
“Located in a shared building this restaurant stands out as a great restaurant. Very fresh tasting salmon. Paired well with a sweet and spicy salsa. The added Kimchi is a must to bring this whole dish together. All on top of a bed of rice. Very nice staff as well.“
“We just ordered thru Uber Eats. The food was wonderful, the shoyu chicken was the favorite at the table! All of the food was very good, we will order again! recommend: shoyu chicken, kalua pig, teri chicken, garlic chicken, kali ribs, yaki noodles, spam musubi“
“Da Hui was one of the few places open during this last icy storm. Our power went out, so this we awesome! We get there the place is nice and warm. The service was unbelievably friendly and fast. The food was delicious!! We'll definitely be back again!Dietary restrictions: There are wonderful gastric sleeve surgery options.“
“A real gem in the university district! Having been to Hawaii and eaten authentic plate lunch I can assure you the other reviews are incorrect. The restaurant is clean and spacious. The food is prepared well, tastes excellent and is priced very reasonably for the large portions. Something hard to find in the area. Another rarity is the owners take the time to get to know their customers. You can expect to be asked if you want "the usual" if you dine more than a few times. It is refreshing to see hard working small business owners still making it work.“
“Vegan options! and the mac salad is "accidentally" vegan! The first time I went it was absolutely incredible, talked about it for weeks. The 2nd time I went everything was a little on the bland side, so YEMV, tons of potential tho, I'll be back.“
“Great fun food choices for an easy brunch before an event nearby. Name on table was a nice touch with our reservations. Easy casual space with upgraded food choices and nice touches. Would visit again. Our group had the benedict, teri burger, combo plate (ribs were great!), masubi and bibimbap bowl. All delicious.“
“WOWZA!!! I just bought lunch and I am so happy I found this place!! The food was so delicious I thought I was back in Maui again. I would rate 1,000 stars if I could. Absolutely amazing!! Ohana Hawaiian Cafe is #1!!!Wow wow wow!! I’m speechless, can you tell?Parking: Easy! No sweat!Kid-friendliness: Take your kiddos, they’d love it too.Wheelchair accessibility: Super easy and flat area. I would think a wheelchair would be able to get inside without having any issues. It is worth it.“
