Unfortunately we made the mistake of eating lunch here & it was just awful. Both the burger & the biscuit breakfast sandwich we ordered sat for a long time before we got the text our order was ready. The gravy had formed a skin on the top by the time we received it, all of the breads had gone soggy, & my burger was barely warm. I saw the guy sitting next to us had ordered the French dip & it barely had any meat on it, so it seems like all the food is subpar & it wasn't just a problem with our order. Won't eat here again, but will be back for the store.“

“I made a reservation for my birthday prior to their "Top 50 Restaurants in the U.S.," courtesy of the NYT, and I'm glad I did - reservations fill up quick. The food was great, but what really blew me away was their ability to be flexible. My husband was coming home on an international flight and his flight delay put us missing our reservation by 30 minutes and I got into contact with them the second that I knew (sorry for the 6:00 am text ?). Granted, it could have been a coincidence that day (it was a Friday and maybe there weren't too many people clamoring for a spot), but they were able to work with me and allow us to come to our table for a 1.5 hour service instead of a 2. That alone would make me come back, the food really was a plus at that point ? there are also nonalcoholic drink options that I really appreciated as I no longer drink. But yes, come for the food and stay for the service! Excited to try more of their menu next time.“

“We are so impressed with this restaurant, it’ll be our new Thursday night date night spot!
We enjoyed the ambiance greatly, were delighted by all 8 dishes we got, and loved the service.
My husband ordered the Old Fashioned Cocktail and the Bar Manager came out to introduce himself and tell us more about what makes it so special. He actually works with a local distillery to create the drink and bottle it. It was so good we ordered 2 and then went to the store down the street to buy our own bottle!

The small plates are incredible, and from 5-6 each night you can get a little 2-person sampler of all of them for only $38! Best deal in town! And then if you’re hungry, the steak was cooked PERFECTLY.

“I think we may have found our favorite Korean restaurant on the west side! Food was fresh and yummy! Love the how the lettuce is presented. Every single leaf was crisp and perfect! Service was really good as well. Prices are a bit higher, but for what we got, we felt we got a lot of food for those prices.“

“On Wednesday, we made a detour to Tito’s Taquitos Swan Island in N Portland.
This was a clean, quick and friendly lunch spot located in the Swan Island industrial area. They have indoor and outdoor seating, with lots of parking.
My husband ordered one rib eye taco on blue corn tortilla, one garlic butter shrimp taco and 4 crispy hand-rolled potato filled taquitos topped with braised beef.
They also offered green, red, or habanero sauces.
Each bite has their flavor, texture, components and the balance to satisfy our taste, we love it.“

“Wow! Where do I begin. Everything I eat here is always delicious and you can tell the owners care so much, about the food, the dinning space, and their team. I love the wine list and the rotating pizza specials. Definitely a favorite spot of mine and I am so happy they are in the neighborhood.“

“What a lovely spot with great food! Some friends with dietary restrictions recommended we meet up here since they have a plethora of gluten free and vegan options and I happily obliged. Not only were there plenty of GF/vegan options, but I really enjoyed their fried chicken (it seemed like a weird choice at first but there were so many good reviews I had to give it a go, and it was pretty stellar fried chicken!). The tea leaves salad was also very good and they had some sort of awesome potato dish that was way better than one would expect. Fun variety of options here (gonna try the giant dumpling next time), food came fast, cocktails were good too, nothing but good things to say and hope to go back next time I'm in town!

“Tartuca was an excellent and delectable experience, all around. Felt lots of warmth and friendliness, from walking in the door at the hostess stand all the way to the end.

Appreciated the simplicity of the menu. Our server was very patient and happy to answer any questions we had about the menu, which we had a few of.

Got the mushroom pasta and seasonal (squash blossom) pizza, with the caeser salad. All of the food was fresh, tastefully presented, and very delectable. The mushroom pasta was my favorite, with the corn contrasting the lobster + king oyster mushrooms perfect, combined with a crunchiness to contrast the creaminess & softness of the pasta + sauce itself.

Definitely will be returning to try more of the items on the menu. The kale pizza looked very intriguing.“

“Today we visited this place for breakfast. It was very tasty ? and also, the owner is very nice and prepares incredibly delicious breakfasts. And considering that he is from Kyiv, it’s actually a nice bonus to meet your person ?a piece of calm, atmosphere, delicious coffee and wonderful breakfasts!

“This is hands down my favorite new restaurant of 2024. Everything I have had here is the best version of that thing I’ve ever had. Standouts for me are two dishes I never really cared for before: mole and flan. When I first tried their mole enchiladas I made excuses to have them two more times in the same week.

Beyond tasty food the owners and staff are very friendly.

They renovated the outdoor space so there is lots of covered outdoor seating, some with heaters. It’s tucked away enough that you don’t really notice the Hawthorne traffic.

And they have a parking lot!

“Awesome! This is the place if you work nearby. Weighed by the pound (they subtract the plate/container weight), they have an awesome selection of cold and hot food. I had samples of sushi, avocado salad, mango salad, chicken salad, and even BBQ meatballs and sausages! They are super nice and you should at least give it a try on your lunch break. Plus they have breakfast stuff too!“

“I was always curious about Oma’s Hideaway and it was pretty good. Every dish was flavorful and interesting. The salted egg yolk fries with the burnt pork ends were the star. The fries were cooked perfectly, the sauce was salty and rich, the pork added another spice element beyond the chilis. The pork & shrimp dumplings were good but probably my least favorite, the filling wasn’t as flavorful as I expected but the sauce they came with made up for it and was packed with a spicy kick. The surf & turf special was good, the lobster sauce was so decadent and delicious. The prawns also lacked a bit of flavor, so the sauce and fried garlic helped. The steak was flavorful but it was a bit too rare for me.

All in all, great flavors, and I would be interested to try some other dishes. The portions are small which make it easy to try more items and share them. Plus it is super cute on the back patio, good music, and friendly staff.“

“Ate here with my family in October 2024. Nice sunny, chilly day visiting Portland. I had the chicken sandwich and it was delicious. My boys had burgers and loved them. The lemonade was delicious but expensive for the little cup. In a little section off the street with 3 other food trucks, and some outdoor picnic seating. We had no problem parking around the corner, but no parking right in front. Free water and cups are available in the seating area.“

“I love this place. It is in my neighborhood, so it's becoming one of my go-to local watering holes. The food has been excellent and they offer a lot of variety. Great list of beers, too. It is a pub food joint so it is loud and there are lots of TVs with sports on...which is awesome.

Parking: I never had a problem finding parking unless there was a football game at the high school.“

“Thank you Firehouse team for making our wedding day go perfectly! We booked out the entire restaurant for the day, so we were able to decorate and get ready starting at 11am. With our 42 guests, we held the ceremony in the patio out front, then had dinner upstairs and the dance party downstairs. The food was incredible and we heard so many compliments about it from our guests. Working with the events manager (Alec) was great with his quick responses, flexibility, suggestions, day-of coordination, and DJ-ing!!“

“Absolutely incredible dining experience at Laangban. Loved to have been able to experience Southern Thailand flavor in this fine dining restaurant. The vibes here are ultra cool and every member of the staff was so knowledgeable about the dishes and so friendly that we felt really comfortable eating here. You will leave full!! “I had the BBQ burger, fries, and a soda. It came in at ~$20 with a tip. You place an order at a digital kiosk on arrival.

The bun and burger dressings (fried onions, jalapeños, bacon) were quite good, as was the bun. The patty, which feels machine-made, was a little disappointing. For the price, I'd expect something hand formed. While the webpage states it is grilled medium, mine was well-done.

Fries were great, despite being served with about a tablespoon of ketchup.

The atmosphere is fast casual. The water station was empty when I arrived, as was the napkin dispenser at my table.

I plan to give this place another shot. if their salads are serviceable, and some of the issue above are addressed, I could see this being a regular spot.“
