“Found this hidden gem while searching for Italian restaurants. We went on Sunday when they offer Pizza and Gnocchi. Me and my wife both are vegetarians and ordered: Mediterranea pizza, Arrabbiatta gnocchi and Crema Genovese gnocchi. All items tasted really good. The chef (who is Italian) was walking around and chatting with people which was nice. I would recommend this place for your next Italian food craving!”

“We're locals from Hillsboro and every few years we use our September anniversary as an excuse to get away from the kids and drink wine in Yamhill county. Every trip is to a different BnB and each day is spent discovering new vineyards.

This most recent trip we were keen on good wine with a view, and got no less than four separate recommendations to visit Penner-Ash. We swung by on a Saturday afternoon as walk-ins but were told they had no availability for tastings. We were offered bottle service but decided to make a reservation for Sunday morning to try again, and boy are we glad we did!

The view from the patio is absolutely amazing! The sommelier was charming and delightful! I'm a sucker for any opportunity to learn and she was an absolute treasure trove of knowledge about wine making, which meshed very well with the structure of our tasting: 3 wines, exactly identical but with different soil? Wow, I have been to dozens of these at other vineyards and never learned as much as I did here.

We will definitely make a point of returning, thanks again for such a wonderful morning!”

“We've been huge fans of the Newbergundian for years. From luncheon dates to late afternoon refreshment, to glorious dinners, we've enjoyed it all. Today, however, was the first time we've gone for brunch. We were decidedly wrong when we'd thought this charming bistro couldn't get any better. Brunch was outstanding! Their hash offerings change, and today's was thick, smokey bacon hash with arugula, roasted potatoes, and an exquisite green sauce with just a hint of tarragon. The eggs were lightly poached, and the sourdough toast was well buttered and crisp. My husband's Benedict rested on a perfectly toasted English muffin, which so many restaurants neglect to do these days. The hollandaise couldn't have been any fresher, and it's consistency was not too gloppy or too thin . . . it was perfect. My husband's side of fruit was fresh and beautifully presented. The plates, in general, were works of culinary art, fragrant and pleasing to both the palate and the eyes. Beverage choices included alcoholic brunch standards, as well as non-alcoholic adult beverages that were creative, simple, and so refreshing. Even the coffee was outstanding. We have, yet another reason to love the Newbergundian!”

“A shout out to Graham at Stumptown Taps! We had a group event there last night and it went super smooth. Reserving tables was easy. Although they don't serve food, you can bring in your own, or there are great options in the same parking lot (and some will bring your order to you -Taco Fuego does for sure) Their beer selection is great, and has unique options you don't see in stores. A big perk for beer nerds like me. Convenient for a group as you order individually at the counter, so everyone can close out when they want without the complication of splitting bills at the table. Also, a comfortable atmosphere to go solo too. If you haven't stopped in yet, you should! I will definitely be back!”

“I went in, planning on only getting a smoothie. I ended up getting a waffle as well because they looked so good and they had so many options. I got the mixed berry smoothie and vegetarian waffle, which had arugula, spinach, tomato, avocado, mozzarella, and Italian dressing. It was very delicious. A great continuation of my already good day. I will definitely be going back here soon.

“This is my absolute favorite place to go if I want a “home cooked meal” they have loads of amazing food to bring home and cook/heat up. I have never had anything from Gusto’s that I didn’t absolutely love. Dario and Sheena sure do know how to make food and run a business. If I could eat here every day I would. Also if you get a chance, buy a round of focaccia. They’re all SO good.”

“Our "koffee klatch" group was going to visit a small creamery just outside of Newberg, so we "made a morning of it." We met at the Coffee Cottage for a quick nibble and - obviously - a caffeinated beverage. This was one busy establishment! Both the walk-in and drive-thru portions were doing a land office business. They even sold out of some of their menu items (!). Fortunately, other options were available. The staff kept a very cheerful attitude throughout the hustle and bustle, an outward sign they work well as a team. We will definitely return.”

“It's a typical Five Guys. Good burgers, good fries, clean restaurant, and friendly staff but nothing over the top. Yeah, we'll go here again, but not often. The price is high for what you're getting and there really isn't anything that makes it "that" much better.”

I loved their Pinot Noirs which I expected but really loved their Pinot gries which was a surprise for me (aged in stainless steel which I learned with whites I like better than oak aged). “I was a club member years ago when Dave and Mary opened this vineyard. I went back yesterday under the new ownership, Cooper Mountain, and it is still lovely with great tasting wines. I don’t like tannic reds or oaky Charonneys where as my boyfriend does. We both found wines we both enjoyed and some we each liked more than each other. Arborbrook continues with a very wide range of flavors!! They also are all organic and biodynamic, I highly recommend !”

The Human Bean Drive Through Cafe is sparkling clean: ❤ I had to long-neck to get a look inside from my vehicle window. ?No beverage spills or gunk at pick-up windows as seen in various other popular name drive-through cafes. I drove across the USA & Canada in my 2012, manual stick shift, glass-roof black Mustang in 2023, and frequently utilized drive-through cafes. All said, now back to home base... the Newberg, OR Human Bean outlet has outstanding staff who are experts at whipping-up the best beverages (hot & cold) and serves a super line of healthy (my opinion) snacks...all served with great humor and smiles!?”

“This is definitely a "hidden gem." The food was delicious, the soups were full of flavor as were the main coarse meals. When we first arrived we weren't certain it was going to be worth trying out as there was no one in sight! I stepped into the lounge and asked the bartender if the restaurant part was open for dinner. She (the bartender/ waitress) came right over and took our orders. She was wonderful. The food came quickly and the amount of food was unbelievable! The lady that waited on us did an excellent job even covering the lounge and restaurant. There were a lot of to go orders but we were the only ones to eat in. Will definitely ? be back again!”

“Whitney is the kindest barista I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. Her americanos are the absolute best in town, always the perfect drinking temperature. When we moved a couple years ago, I had to find a new coffee stand and this was recommended to me by a coworker whose husband had been going for years and loved it. I’m so glad that I took that advice. I often need a second cup of coffee in the morning during the dark months, and after two years of seasonal attendance on my part, Whitney still remembers exactly how I like my drink. 11/10 would recommend!!”

“On our way to the coast, my family and I stopped in here for dinner, and I was immediately impressed with the pleasant atmosphere and friendly service. We were seated quickly and our server was very attentive.

The food was amazing...my wife and I both had the daily special: a spicy chicken teriyaki bowl that had a lovely heat to it, the expertly grilled chicken and some of the tastiest crab Rangoon's I've ever had. (The Thai basil is a fantastic touch!) My kids loved it, too, which is an amazing feat, all things considered... ;)

“Pro: Food was exactly what Ma needed to fix her craving. Portions were generous, prices were on point. The flavor was not too salty, nothing was greasy. And the fortunes in the cookies weren't ominous.

Con: It was very quiet. Like library quiet. Too quiet. Maybe that's something for you, but I felt like I had to whisper. The other guests were also speaking in hushed voices, but their conversation was very clear I couldnt help but hear everything they were talking about. We might have well all just gone in together.”

“We came from out of state, just passing through. I’m so thankful we stopped here! We are traveling with our 19 month old son and often forget that some places don’t like little kids around, even though he’s pretty good. When you first walk in here, it’s so nice and there’s a bar area and I felt a little nervous about being there with a toddler. We were immediately greeted by a young waitress and a man whom I guess to be the manager or owner. He was so kind. When we were seated, he greeted us and our son. He talked to him and asked us about him, immediately offered us a highchair (you’d be surprised how many places don’t do that) and spoke to us about his 4 year old. The waitress mentioned she was new, you’d never know. She was so kind and quick. Phenomenal service! Both things we ordered (steak ranchero and Eduardo’s dinner) were even better! And it came very quick to the table (also a perk with toddlers!). The chips and salsa were clearly fresh. The inside was beautiful and so was downtown. It was an incredible experience that I wish we had back home!”

“I cannot remember a dinner as good as Eden Gate. Ordered one of the family dinner ($16 pp) that included 3 appetizers, soup, 3 dishes and a fried rice…it was the most delicious meal that i can remember! No precooked meat/chicken, later stir fried into a dish. The sweet sour pork and chicken was so tender, fresh cooked and truly delicious. I am so wowed. We are gonna stay an extra day, just to eat here again. I’m so sad I don’t live nearby.”
