“Our first experience here, popping in on a rainy Saturday evening. Despite the warm, welcoming interior, the first thing we noticed was how loud the restaurant was. Full capacity with a crowded bar does not need loud music playing! It was exceedingly difficult having a conversation with my partner, we actually gave up and people watched.Food was great! We enjoyed our bacon wrapped figs and goat cheese appetizers. The Tips & Shrimp and short rib pasta entrees were great as were the house-made beignets. The awesome hostess was as doing quadruple duty as Villanova students are one Spring break. She didn’t miss a beat taking our drink and food orders, filling our water and making sure we were enjoying our meal.“
“The food was delicious! It's byob so of course the drinks were good too the service was awesome, but we were also there on a non busy week night. The atmosphere was sleek and informal. It's definitely on the pricey side for me, but would def recommend!“
“I liked the food and the beer selection better pre-covid but still a solid spot for good pub food and a few brewsKid-friendliness: We met friends and had five kids between us -- the lively atmosphere, ample seating, and patient staff definitely makes this a kid-friendly spot on a Friday evening.“
“The bartender was really nice, we ordered the pretzel with the cheese sauce ( I think the sauce could be better but it worked out), a cheese pizza, the chicken Philly cheese steak and the spicy chicken sandwich. everything was good and to our liking. We enjoyed the environment, the food and the people taking care of us. I will definitely be back during our next visit to Philadelphia.“
“We informed our server we had movie tickets at a nearby theater and wanted to place our entire order at once. He obliged and we made our movie. We had eaten at this restaurant many times in the past though not recently. We were not disappointed“
“As a cheesesteak enthusiast, I was anxious to try the "Jawn" advertised as a pound of prime ribeye on a freshly kneaded roll with caramelized onions and Cooper Sharp. The roll was fresh and warm, and yeasty, but more like pizza crust than the high end Italian rolls one finds at the best cheesesteak joints. Onions were perfect. Cheese was kind of skimpy. The beef was high quality and free of gristle..but a POUND? Maybe 8oz. MAX before cooking. I've eaten several pound steaks, and this ain't one. Fries were very high quality frozen, served piping hot in a cute mini fry-basket. Wife's wings were crispy and didn't get soggy in the plentiful hot sauce. Drinks are very reasonable and staff attentive and friendly. I guess the "Jawn" is a kind of novelty, and the price may reflect the beef grade as opposed to weight. Adorable atmosphere. I'll return, but try the Italian dishes where I suspect they excel.“
