“Always a win at Minooka! I’ve ordered pies and cakes for special occasions, and I’ve also dropped in for last-minute sweets from the display. Family and friends always compliment their desserts, and it has saved me tons of time with their easy online ordering. Their key lime pie has become a birthday tradition for my family, and the strawberry cake will probably be my daughter’s favorite birthday cake ever. The customer service is top notch, even on their busiest days like Pi Day and pickup for thanksgiving orders. My only suggestion would be to have a separate line for desserts ordered ahead on those busy days. I hope minooka continues to enjoy many more years of success with their delicious food and friendly service!Dietary restrictions: They have a designated gluten free freezer case with a great variety of desserts and breads. I’ve ordered gluten free cupcakes for a school party, and the teacher was impressed with how delicious they were!“

“Tasty coffee and treats and very kind, helpful employees!I was confused by the sizes of lattes they offer — ended up ordering one with too much milk for my liking. When I asked the barista about it, she made me a new one with less milk and told me what to order next time. Also when my daughter left her water bottle here, they washed for us before we picked it up! Very nice spot.Kid-friendliness: Plenty of space and food options for kids.“

National Bakery Bakery • $
1100 Capouse Ave, Scranton - 1.18 miles

“Great old fashioned bakery with a nice selection of breads, pastries and cookies. The hard rolls (less than $1 each!) looked phenomenal as did the bagels. Since it was close to St. Patrick's Day, they had Irish soda bread and also hot cross buns available. There were also biscuits with raisins in them. They looked fine! Unfortunately, there is no seating in the store, it is simply a store. I could see this being a nice place to come for a morning bagel or hard roll with butter. They just aren't set up to do so. I got an eclair and it was excellent, large and had a great ganache frosting. It was gone quite quickly. They also had a nice selection of cookies, danish and turnover pastries. You can buy rolls separately or in a bag. They have dinner rolls, too. If you're looking for "Texas toast" this is where you can get that kind of bread. Other kinds of bread that they have: Multigrain, Rye (unseeded), a pulled(?) white, and others. There was much more than I recall. Definitely worth the trip. Prices were reasonable and I'm sure the quality is better than you'll find at a grocery store.“

No complaints as it was definitely nice to have homemade breads (Italian, wheat, cinnamon raisin) and different kinds of omelet (taco, and a squash/zucc/kale). Knick-knacks galore for purchase, too. “My husband and I stopped by for breakfast after our orthodontist highly recommended Bailey's for breakfast. We were pleasantly surprised to see how welcoming and clean and up to date it was. We were happily greeted and since it was our first time there, she explained the menu and all of our options. After getting a few recommendations we made our choices and found ourselves a seat in a corner with a beautiful view out the front window, next to a comfy arm chair and couch by some holiday decorations. The atmosphere was so cozy. We picked up our drinks at the counter, which were the Creme Brulee Macchiato, and the Christmas Sweater Cappuccino (or something like that) and they were absolutely Delicious! Our food was served to our table and we were delighted by how tasty each of our meals were. We read over the antique items framed on the walls about the history of the location while we sat at our table and it intrigued us to do more research on the area, as we are from Taylor. It is definitely a place I would love to stop by again when we are in the area! Thank you to Bailey's Staff for such a wonderful experience.“

Pilgers' Pastries Bakery • $
350 Adams Ave, Scranton - 1.59 miles

“I've had the pleasure of visiting this charming little bakery four times now, with two of those visits occurring just within the past week. My commitment to supporting local businesses is unwavering, and this bakery has certainly won me over. Let's dive into the delightful treats they offer. Each cookie I've sampled has been nothing short of fantastic, particularly the double chocolate and oatmeal raisin varieties. Honestly, I could devour them all day if given the chance. The cupcakes, characterized by their light texture, take on a delightful richness depending on the topping, a quality I absolutely adore. Venturing beyond the sweet side, I also indulged in their savory offerings, particularly the vegan pot pie, which proved to be remarkably tasty - so much so that I couldn't resist getting another one today. Intrigued, I also picked up a chicken pot pie, eagerly anticipating a flavorful comparison. What makes this place truly special is the warm and friendly atmosphere created by the owners. It feels like a genuine mom-and-pop establishment, with the mother and father passionately baking in the back while their son attends to customers up front. The bakery itself is a cozy, brightly colored haven with seating for around eight people, providing a comfortable space to savor these delectable treats. With such a positive experience on each visit, I eagerly anticipate many more delightful moments at this wonderful bakery.“

Agostini Bakery Bakery • $
1216 S Main St, Old Forge - 7.39 miles

“There’s a reason why nearly every place in the region that serves pizza (and doesn’t make their own dough) uses their shells. In fact, Agostini’s shells are the main reason why so many bars and restaurants are able to serve quality pizza in the region. They also make it easy to make great pizza at home. Very good and inexpensive.“
