Nestled behind a home in Swarthmore this adorable little pastry shop fills the whole neighborhood with the smell of croissants, muffins, cupcakes and more. You could just tell they put some much time and effort into this cake. They really went above and beyond. Not to mention it was delicious! Thank you for making my son’s birthday so special. Very, very impressed by the quality of the beans as they made an excellent cup of coffee freshly ground in my chemex. Just as impressive as the coffee, however, was the customer service. I received a handwritten note from Mike and Edna thanking me for my order and explaining how they chose to include a sample pack of coffee beans based on the flavor profile of the ones in my order. I have ordered a lot of tea and coffee from different shops across the country and have never experienced such care and attention to detail. Meg was super quick to respond to emails, and always very clear, well-organized, and easy to arrange with. “I just want to say. I am so thankful for Ashley Bakery. I was in a crisis last night March 2, 2024 when my daughter decorator canceled last minute and the cake was in the package. I google and this bakery was the only one open and was 10 minutes from my house. I called and she said come in I can help you. When I say this was so awesome. She was able to have me a cake ready in an hour the color that my daughter wanted. Not only that when I tell you the cakes were so beautiful and better than the one she was originally getting. “First of all--I'm glad to be introduced to another Black owned bakery! And the customer service is great. My aunt located this place when looking for treats for my grandma's bday. Everything was delicious and were a hit with the family, including the cookies. They really have too many cupcake options to choose from ?. I recently stopped by and tried the delicious sweet potato & strawberry shortcake cupcakes. I also have tried the Oreo and Turkey Bacon ones, which were good, too. I'm literally sad it's a Monday and can't wait until Wednesday to visit.“

“Such a great place! I went a few months ago and things were good but OH MY!! I went again today and everything was AMAZING! We were one of the first people in shop and the selection was actually overwhelming! So many options and everything has been great so far. I’m actually a vegan bakery owner myself BUT when traveling love to try other treats & I was super happy about all the treats. Also, the staff working was super friendly, helpful and just overall great to chat with. “This place did a brilliant job of having very filling options on the menu that weren’t too heavy or calorie dense. This giant breakfast burrito was mainly filled with eggs and a little bit of refried beans. I left full but not feeling gross, which is a fine line to walk with a breakfast burrito.The lox and bagel was ordered by others at the table and it looked very similar - lots of of greens on the plate but they didn’t skimp on the lox or cream cheese. We all were glad to have picked this spot for our weekend brunch.“

“Recently it was my dad's birthday and I searched far and wide for an amazing carrot cake (it's his favorite) and Kia' Cakes made the most amazing and delicious cake for us ?Mrs. Kia was very nice and accommodating with my specifications for my cake, and she charges a very fair price for the amount of effort her cakes take and the quality of ingredients used.We got a 7inch round, 3 layer carrot cake with crushed pecans on the outside and in between each layer with one of the best cream cheese frostings I have ever tasted ??Also, she is located in a very accessible area, while there isn't the best street parking out front there's is a parking lot for the supermarket right out back and it is very close to her store.The atmosphere inside was also very nice, there is a lot of great decor and a general very relaxing and cozy vibe. Also, while I did not order any other things while picking up my cake inside I noticed that she has very great prices for the variety and quality of things she sells. Most treats in there are between $3-6 for a cupcake, banana pudding, interesting flavored cheesecakes, quiche, and other interesting treats that I will definitely be coming back to try.Kia and her team were very accommodating and very careful with packing my cake when I picked it up as well. It came out great, and everyone, most importantly my father loved it very much!“

My hustand and I both opted for the snickerdoodle flavored cake and were very happy with the great taste. Two weeks later I was going to a friends house for dinner and knew immediately what I was bringing. It was a great success and I am now going to be a loyal customer. “Highly, highly, highly recommend! After previously ordering breakfast and lunch deliveries to work (all which have been fantastic) I found out they made Viking cakes. My brother looooves them and hasn't had one in years since our go-to had closed down. Being the last minute person I am, I called Monday to order for Tuesday just to realize they were closed on Mondays. I took a leap and messaged them on Facebook, hoping for a miracle. Boy did I get one! Stephanie responded pretty quickly and was set on getting me this order together on her day off. She was so friendly, kind, and responsive.
