“Overall the restaurant is good. The food is tasty too. The reason for the lower star is due to lack of vegetarian options, if you can call it an option. Between three of us vegetarian dining at the place, we could only get 2 options for which 1 they were able to make it vegetarian. “Words can’t express how incredible my wedding was at this venue. From the incredible food to the warm atmosphere things were perfect from beginning to end. This venue is very unique. The airy feel of the downstairs bar and patio is beautiful and calming. Patty was a dream to work with! To this day I have people bringing up how much fun, delicious and beautiful my wedding was. “I just ate here tonight for the first time in at least ten years and it's even better than I remember from coming here as a kid. We went for my dad's 70th birthday and though it was busy as all hell our server (I think her name was Brianne) was awesome and totally on point. My brother better have tipped well.I had a Buffalo chicken steak which was amazing, my only complaint is that the Buffalo sauce was a little light and the fried onions were only slightly browned. Fortunately there was a delicious habañero hot sauce bottle on the table that made the steak mostly perfection.I'm not at all disappointed and will be returning.“

“Hosted our wedding rehearsal dinner here a couple years back, and recently returned for an anniversary dinner. Everything was as great as our first time, if not even better. The food is delicious, specifically the filet, asiago chicken, and meatloaf, I'm drooling just thinking about them! All 20+ people we initially brought raved about it and the service was tremendous. Not going to get a better meal for your money in the area. Can't wait to go back!“

“Great service and atmosphere. Hubby had the chicken sandwich and upgraded fries (old bay and a side of cheese sauce), which he said was good, I had the BLT. Per usual just about anywhere, the BLT was lacking in the amount of bacon. I removed it from one side and added it to the other, so I ate half a sandwich. Bacon wasn’t cooked to my liking. I would definitely go back and get something different. The burger that passed by my table looked delicious!“

“There's always a different bartender and it seems the more makeup they are wearing the more likely they are to get your order wrong. I ordered a double shot of Jack and a pint of coke and I got a double shot glass with ice and not even filled to the top and my soda had NO ice and it was half the size of a pint. “We came here for dinner on a somewhat quiet Saturday evening. Luck was on our side as they had no problem getting us a table for four and we were sat quickly. Service was friendly and the menu was surprisingly deep. Overall, the food did not disappoint.We started with the French Onion soup - it is on point and if you like French Onion, I recommend it. I went with the meatloaf sandwich. It was good, but the BBQ sauce was a bit sweet for my liking. Still a creative and enjoyable sandwich. We also got a poke bowl, which was very fresh. I'd recommend getting the dressing on the side as that could overpower some of the aspects of the bowl, but no other modifications needed.I've heard this place can get busy and is a bit of a dive bar. Given its location, I am sure it can get busy so I would plan ahead if you want to eat. As for dive bar, not sure I'd call it that but if I did it would more bit a complement. I say give Berwyn Tavern a go if you are in the area.“

In fact, I haven’t gone to many restaurants/bars at all since my dad passed in 2020. To come into such an awesome environment with banging food and encounter two awesome employees; (didn’t catch the name of the killer cheesteak maker-queen) and Gretchen. The drinks—environment—food—and two ladies working there, helped me to feel comfortable, like I wanted to stay, and forget any sads for the time being. Highly recommend x’s a millionIf my dad was still around … (again, miss you Dad), and we randomly took root in the g reater philly area? Square Bar would be a staple. Hands down. The menu is pretentious, filled with ingredients that I've never heard of so while it peeked my curiosity it also simultaneously squeezed my wallet. I can't justify an 80.00 20 oz bone in rib eye or market price crab cakes. There is a new chef and an updated menu, I just hope the chef doesn't price this place out of business.“

“Amazing service and food! Just a really wholesome, cozy place. We loved our waiter, Hector. He was so kind and had such a sweet spirit. For our birthday they brought us each a piece of cake with big sparklers in them, and they couldn't have been more excited to give them to us! This place makes you feel like family right away! “Most of the food was excellent. Husband ordered the lamb and was in heaven. I got the fried chicken sandwich which I found to be just ok. Too much bread and not enough chicken. Every place in town has a fried chicken sandwich and this one was towards the bottom, so skip it. We also tried the rib fingers and they were very good!!“

“We stopped in on a Friday night for live music after having dinner somewhere else so we didn’t eat anything. We sat at a small table near the stage and next to the pool tables. Our server was friendly and quick. The place wasn’t too full when we first got there around 8:30p but after the band started at 9p it filled up quickly. The bar was packed. Our server handled the drinks for us and that was nice. We had a lot of fun. People were dancing and some dude in a cowboy hat was putting his hat on people and it was pretty fun to watch. From what our server said, it was busy for a Friday and Saturdays are usually packed.From the road it looks like a convenience store and even once you walk inside you can’t really see how big it is until you walk around the bar.Parking was easy however I imagine if they are busier on Saturday night it might get tight. Bathrooms were somewhat clean- probably get a lot of traffic. Check their band schedule and stop in. I heard they do line dancing too.“

“Special Monday drinks and cheesesteaks with Amigo Dan. It’s hard to find Cheesesteaks and Alcohol on a Monday. Amigo Dan thinks he is a Pizza Expert so we went to Mercato and got a Mercato Pizza and Old Fashions. We liked Mercato’s. We liked our server. We liked our Old Fashions very much. I liked all of the ingredients that make the Mercato Pizza and just did not like them together as a pizza. The egg freaked me out.“

“I ate here on a Sunday evening in a group of 5 women. Our waiter was Jason. When we sat down he asked if we were celebrating anything and we told him that my daughter had just said yes to her wedding dress. He went above and beyond to make our meal special. Not only did he give my daughter a free oyster as a treat, but they also gave us all champagne so we could do a toast. Jason was an attentive server and made sure my daughter who has a gluten allergy had a meal that was safe for her. We all got salads with added protein and they were fantastic! Very unique and delicious. We had a great meal and superb service! “We've always enjoyed coming here with the whole family. We came looking to make a reservation for an upcoming event. Manager Zee, Michael-owner, the chef, and all staff were all fantastic. The place has really been revamped since our last visit. The ambience is beautiful, the lounge is cozy, the bar looks very well set up, including the fireplace. The food was really tasty, just right portions and priced just right..complements to the chef! Looking forward to having a fab night again soon!“

“I've been going here even before Alex bought it. I lived and worked in the area all my life. Great little and I mean little dive bar with enough food and booze to satisfy most blue collar people like myself, many regulars, great conversations music,. One of the last places that even give ya the last shot in the bottle, and you can smoke . I never smoked, but I can deal, they know not to blow it my way.“

“A quality neighborhood bar. Saturday at 2 PM and the place is packed with some people not having seats. Seemed like an early rush for a bar. I don't know of a game going on today.The bartender at the time was particularly very friendly and I could tell he gave off the same vibe to everyone. As I left this bar with a friend, one of the (assumedly) local patrons was telling us we should've purposely nudged a guy seated so that we could more easily leave the bar instead of slowly crossing over. That particular patron looked back at the first guy very annoyed. The first guy was probably already at least semi-drunk and just kept trying to go on with his "joke".Another thing that surprises me is that this bar is closed all day Sunday and that they open at 8 AM according to the Yelp page and stay open until 2 AM. Those are mad hours This coming Sunday, there was a big game with Eagles versus the 49ers. I've never heard of a bar open so early in the morning and not open on Sundays. Not open on Sunday because a lot of regular church-goers in the area, or the staff need a break and maybe they would want to go to church? Reminds me of Chik-Fil-A without the super late hours and instead of family friendly style food and drink and chicken icon, booze instead.There were no smokers when me and my friend were there. I was thankful for that. It looks like PA started to ban smoking in all bars in 2021. Personally, don't miss it! “I just recently swung through this spot, after almost 8+ years. Believe it switched owners or something like that. But anyways, the atmosphere inside still holds up, clean lighted up place. Greeted by a beautiful hostess, where if it’s not too busy she’ll give you the option of sitting in the back restaurant area , front bar area, or outside seating (on a nice day) so I choose the bar , only for the mere fact that I just wanted a quick soda along w/ their 5 order of wings (on special). A great deal ! I think I was served by a beauty named Nelly (not sure of the spelling). She was an extremely hard worker , and I never got to tell her how well she served me , along with/ the fact I had a lil crush on her ! Loved the fact that she opened the place early , short staffed and never complained. I wish I told her how much she made my day better ! She also assisted a customer w/ homemade Chile Soup (that her mother made). It was cool, seeing small business thrive. Still got the feeling of a mom and pop place.
