“The gluten free pizza here is the best gluten free pizza I’ve had, hands down!!! And I try gf pizza everywhere I go— literally 10 years and this stuff is just amazing. It’s like magic. The sauce is good. The toppings are great. It’s solid pizza regardless and my non gf husband still loves eating here too! Also, the gluten free fried cinnamon dough!!!! It’s literally the closest thing I’ve had to a doughnut in 10 years and we LOVE it in my house ???? if I had the money I’d invest in the gluten free pizza dough here to make it available everywhere; it’s such a game changer ??Highly recommend!“
“My husband and I both had the stuffed shells with a meatball. It was excellent! The best shells I ever had. I love their sauce and they give you a huge roll to enjoy all that lovely, tasty sauce. The waitress was very attentive and sweet. We will be back....“
“I never been inside the restaurant, but the employees are very friendly pleasant and knowledgeable to assist me with my order. The food is always Hot, Delicious, and arrives in good timing. We know quite a bit of the restaurant drivers ??? so you know we order on a regular. Thank you for your kind service and have a VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR IN 2024 and ongoing.“
“Beyond being some of the (if not the sole) best Italian food I have ever had, what stands out most about Dish Osteria is their commitment to true hospitality; we arrived early to have drinks at the bar, and from the start we were treated with care and true personal interest. The bartender was so insightful and walked us through the menu, answering any questions we might have so that we could order our dinner with ease (it was last Wednesday at 8PM— I forget his name, but please give him his flowers. He was amazing!). I had the Little Bird bourbon cocktail and absolutely loved it. This level of care continued as we moved to our table for dinner. Our waiter and host went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our meal, refreshing our bread without us having to ask (that homemade focaccia was dangerous— we couldn’t stop eating it!), suggesting wine pairings, and also allowing us to taste two options when we couldn’t choose. Every single dish we ordered was phenomenally crafted and delicious ; we ordered the Gamberi shrimp and grilled artichoke salad to start, followed by the short rib ragu gnocchi and rigatoni with smoked scamorza for our entrees (I will dream about both of these dishes for some time). For dessert, we had the lemon cello cheesecake, which was perfectly balanced with sweet and tangy flavors. Our waiter also provided us with a complimentary glass of moscato with our dessert. This was a phenomenal first experience at this restaurant and I cannot wait to come back. I’m also gifting a visit here to some of my friends for their anniversary and can’t wait for them to try it as well!“
“Came here after receiving a gift card a few months ago and loved it so much decided to return for a special occasion, once again DiAnoia’s did not disappoint. The menu had different items this time around, but we could not be happier with our selections. The drinks/food came out at the perfect time, our fried mozzarella and pasta dishes were still steaming when brought to the table, the entire staff including our waitress were all extremely friendly and accommodating even with a packed house. Can’t recommend DiAnoia’s enough!“
“Steve and I enjoyed our Easter dinner at Senti. Chef Antonio created a very fresh Linguine Con Vongole with rapini and brought back his Pollo Valdastana, which was do flavorful with ham and fontina cheese. We enjoyed our time with Holly at the bar and talking with Franco. We just. love the welcoming atmosphere here.“
“Looking for that truly special restaurant? Spork in Garfield is it! I can't stop thinking about our experience at this chef-led restaurant. This isn't just a restaurant, it's a culinary experience. What sets this place apart is the farm to table ingredients and truly special preparations; which creates dishes that are so dynamic and interesting. The team works with small producers, grows some of their own produce + herbs, and mills their own grain for house made bread. My favorite sip was the "So Long Frankie Louise" cocktail and my favorite bite was the homemade bread roll. When you get a reservation here expect out of this world food & service plus:- Truly great alcohol free options including mocktails, zero proof beer & wine Surprise bites throughout your meal.- Lots of choice & small plates - great for the table to try a little of a variety of dishes.- This is such a unique spot to book for that special occasion.Definitely go hungry and be prepared to be well nourished!“
“Good craft beer selection!!Fried appetizers and even the clam strips were really good. Took a steak hoagie Togo and ate it for 3 days straight without even needing to heat it up 1) cuz the bread never staled or got soggy in the fridge 2) cuz the flavor was just that good “
“We love Pino's. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive. We had the Bolognese and Tomato Basil pastas, and the market fish, which was an Alaskan cod, perfectly seasoned and presented. Everything was absolutely delicious! Don't skip dessert!“
“We recently gave this place a try after hearing good thing and were blown away by the food and service. We had meatballs and ricotta, maple Brussels, pizza, and pasta.Their chef has a meticulous focus on quality and you can taste it in every bite of goodness. We will definitely be coming back soon.“
“I’ve been here several times and have never been disappointed! The food is some of the best Italian in Pittsburgh! We always order the gnocchi with blush sauce and always appreciate how perfectly done the gnocchi is (never mushy or overdone) as well as the T-bone steak which is always made PERFECTLY! We also appreciate how many sides you get with each meal as well as FRESH BREAD! You won’t be let down and will definitely have leftovers for lunch tomorrow.“
“What a charming little shop! So much character in the space - a collected, homey feeling, with interesting fixtures, warm colors, and lots of sunlight. I ordered an americano and raspberry turnover and both were delightful! I love that they were served in real dishes instead of paper or plastic. The service was prompt and attentive! The seating is quaint but a little uncomfortable. Will definitely return next time I'm in the neighborhood.“
“Christmas at Johnny's...Very Festive and Comforting. I had the Chicken Romano...OUTSTANDING!!!! The Chicken was SO TENDER that I was Eating it with a SPOON!!! ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! Also had Meatballs...DELICIOUS!!! A MUST VISIT To EVERYONE Who want REAL HOMEMADE ITALIAN QUESINE!!!@“
“Always freshly made, the staff are friendly and helpful. Love going here for the Italian ambience and music. The food is always hot and delicious. The desserts are delicious, the wine is plentiful. They give you homemade bread sticks every time. The dinner rolls are always hot, fresh and scrumptious. I like their house dressing. It's not just oil and vinegar. They've got a few specials, but my favorite dish is the Chicken ala Mafia. If you're craving pizza, the Villa Ballanca special can't be beat.“
“Amazingly delicious no-frills neighborhood pizza joint. It is a treasure! When you factor price and taste (are there others?), Eddie's has the best pizza in Pittsburgh. Really, it's that good!!! Give it a try. I promise you'll love it.“
“My wife wanted a date night. I found Olives and Peppers online. It was our first time there. I did make a reservation, (thanks to a review) we were seated immediately. With in minutes our waitress was there ready to serve. After ordering cocktails, we ordered appetizers, zucchini plants and burrata cheese, it was a great start, so tasty. My wife had steak and mushroom Gorgonzola, I stayed with Italian and tried the lasagna. This meal was old school Italian cuisine. The portions were large. Our taste buds enjoyed the experience.,The wedding soup was top notch. Thank you Rebecca for making our date night memorable. We will be back and we will definitely brag about our experience at Olives and Peppers to our friends and family.“
“Honestly I keep thinking how dumb I've been to not have discovered this place sooner! I walked in within 2 minutes of them opening so I was the only one in the place. The waitresses and the owner all introduced themselves to me and asked my name. From that point on, they treated me like we had been friends for years. I had only wanted to try this place because I have heard the live music is great and the atmosphere is better, but when I got there, I was a bit hungry. I took a look at the menu and didn't see anything I would like but because they were so nice to me, I thought I would try the Italian hoagie. BEST DECISION EVER. I mean wow I can't stop thinking about how good it was. While I was waiting for my food to be made, I was looking at some of their upcoming events. They have an event called "Dingus Day" coming up and I wanted to know more. The owner came out and sat down next to me and started looking for videos on their tv. He found a clip of Anderson Cooper making fun of this dingus day and that's why he likes celebrating it. We walked YouTube videos for 15 minutes til my food was ready. I've never laughed or had so much fun with complete strangers in my life. I can't wait to go back and hang out with the people who made me feel like family from the second I walked in.“
“Started my Pittsburgh foodie adventures in this adorable little sit-down pizza restaurant in Shadyside! We tried the Pizza Del Re (white pizza) and Pizza Della Casa (red pizza), and both lived up to the hype! Pizza Del Re: - White pizza with mozzarella, truffle spread, & prosciutto (it comes with mushrooms too, but we got it without because my boyfriend doesn't like mushrooms) - A super rich truffle taste that was so yummy - Loved the thin crust, but there were parts that tasted a little too burnt Pizza Della Casa: - Red tomato sauce pizza with mozzarella, grape tomatoes, arugula, prosciutto, & parmigiano - I love the combination of prosciutto & arugula and it was a plus that the arugula tasted so fresh & wasn't bitter - I personally prefer red sauce over white sauce, so I liked this pizza a little bit more To top off your meal here, make sure to get their gelato for dessert! I got a small size with 2 flavors -- tiramisu and hazelnut. Both flavors were super rich and yummy and definitely satisfied my sweet tooth.“
“My husband and I enjoyed the olives and baby artichokes (with the delicious focaccia bread) as appetizers. We both got smaller portion pastas which was just the right size for myself. We split dessert and had 3 cocktails between the 2 of us. The price was very reasonable. The service was excellent!“
“I Love this place! The atmosphere is great and the pesto Alfredo was so unique and delicious! I've never had pesto Alfredo before and I loved it. The portion sizes are huge! I got two full meals out of my portion of pasta. The drinks were okay and so was the service but the food was the outstanding star and I will definitely be coming back on the reg“
“This place is amazing, the pizza is so awesome, the baked goods are so good, they have these cherry and cheese Danish type pastry, they have a specific name i forget, but WOW they are amazing, there is cherry, apricot and a few others and I'm sure they are all as good as the cherry....The staff is always awesome too ?“
“I ordered a bunch of pizza for my daughter’s birthday party and was running late they were very nice and accommodating. They also gave my plates and napkins in case I forgot. The service was great and the pizza was really good! Thanks again!“
“We had a very enjoyable evening at Tambellini's. We love the cozy ambience of the dining room and the gracious service. Our server Charlotte did a great job of pacing our meal service. We both had the special entree of Veal Lucca with veal medallions in marsala sauce topped with crispy proscuitto. Delicious! We enjoyed after dinner drinks at the bar with Mike to finish a relaxing evening.“
“Great food, everything is always very fresh. My favorite is the Chicken and Broccoli Alfredo .... they serve fresh baked bread and an awesome garden salad. The staff and owners are very friendly and always very attentive to our dining needs and the atmosphere is a family restaurant home feeling....always welcoming!“
“This place’s eggplant parmigiana is to die for. I spent many birthdays here. I have since moved from Pittsburgh but have been meaning to stop by. I can recall the linguine and clams being really good, too. It’s old school Italian. Good sized portions, fresh bread, and pleasant atmosphere/ambience.Parking: For some reason, people go to the bar and not to the restaurant, so there’s plenty of parking off to the side of the building.“
“I was in Pittsburgh with my sister and two friends for a girls weekend. LeVia was recommended to us by the owners of SPill Wine Bar. We were seated immediately and greeted by the best waitress! Her timing of service was spot on, as well as her recommendations. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with any of the dishes. The space was small and quaint, and we loved the intimacy of our surroundings. We ordered the garlic knots with sauce and cheese, I can’t even begin to describe how incredible they were. We all ordered a different meal. Our waitress gave us four extra plates to share all of our meals, great idea to be able to try an assortment of dishes! Thank you for an amazing meal, we will be back!“
“Had a funeral lunch there in October for my mother-in-law. The service was impeccable and the food selections were perfect! The staff expressed their sympathy. I attended another funeral luncheon recently somewhere else and the service and food was very lacking. Highly recommend having a group event here! The price was reasonable too.“
“This is by far, the best pizza and the best calzone I’ve ever tasted. The cheese to sauce ratio was impeccable. The crust was a perfect bit of crunchy around the crust. There was NOT a single bite of pizza that was soggy - and given the moisture of the cheese and sauce the pizza had, I was floored by how perfectly cooked it was. This place is CASH ONLY and although there is sorting available, it doesn’t seem like the type of place you want to sit down and eat. Not that it’s unwelcoming, it’s just very quaint.Vegetarian options: There are plenty of vegetarian pizza toppings available for personalizationParking: Plenty of parking with a bit of a walk from the lot“
“What a charming little place. My friend and I dined here for a little “girls’ night out”, and I’m so thankful that we did. Our server, Kelsey, made us feel so welcome from the moment we sat down. The atmosphere is cozy, bright, and inviting. Both of us got seafood pasta dishes, and I had to stop myself from eating the whole thing so I could have leftovers! The tiramisu was delicious…and a very hefty portion size of it, too. We split a bottle of wine from their shop next door, and Kelsey brought it to our take for us so we didn’t have to move. Generous portion sizes, excellent food quality, and a very reasonable price point. The service was excellent. I can’t say enough good things about this place. There are a lot of good Italian restaurants in Pittsburgh, but this is one of my favorites already! Can’t wait to go back.“
“Been frequenting this wonderful restaurant for years.Never disappoints...the atmosphere is that of ?? Italy. It's a lit'l escape from the daily grind.Do yourself a favor and experience the greatness of this quaint Italian restaurant. Menu isn't extensive...but who cares when everything offered is delightful.Parking: After 6pm on streets parking is free and there are plenty of low priced parking close to the Girasole's“
“Chef Eric and our server Mike were fantastic! Our large group was able to enjoy a delicious business dinner in a timely fashion. Apps, entrees, and dessert were absolutely incredible! The Cesar salad was perfectly composed, they make their own mozzarella, and the specials are on point! You could taste the love and passion that created each dish. It was so nice that Chef Eric came out to meet us and personally described some of the dishes to us.The owner was a little unprofessional about an accommodation we needed, but the food and other staff made up for it, so I would still highly recommend this establishment.Dietary restrictions: Chef Eric did a great job accommodating a gluten friendly appetizer and entree.“
“Our staff needed to order a couple of pizzas fast and Pizza Marsala was mentioned by a client of ours. Brittany, the one who answered the phone to take our order, is the epitome of what customer service means. She told me about a better deal and made sure I received my receipt for expense purposes. The pizza was perfectly cooked. I loved the crust! We are patrons!“
“They make really good sandwiches. I had the Italian sub. The bread was soft and chewy and the fillings were tasty. I will probably go extra meat next time just because it tasted so good. My wife had the fish sandwich. This was no little fish sandwich! The filet of fish hung out a good 3 inches in each side of the bun. It's a plain sandwich with just the fish, but it was light and flakey (you can add cheese, tartar or ketchup. I would definitely recommend it.“
“I’m always pleased with my meal at John Anthony’s. On this visit I had the John D Sandwich - fried eggplant and chicken on a hoagie roll topped with marinara, cheese, and John Anthony peppers, and it was terrific. The only problem was it was so big that I couldn’t finish it, so I brought the rest home. My wife had eggplant parmigiana and she was very pleased with it. But the hit of the table was my friend’s Buffalo Chicken Calzone. That will be on my short list of choices on my next visit.Dietary restrictions: One friend at the table has to be gluten free, and she was very pleased with the number of gluten free options and her dinner.“
“It's like being at your favorite dinner table with family and friends! With our beautiful Italian family gathering around the bar area in numbers of about 15 Friday night, we had a blast! Yes, Joe is our cousin and that is definitely warm and wonderful but Louise, Joe's matriarch, was there too which made it extra special. Lulu, chef, Delaney, "Ms. Brown", Linda and all staff were amazing and fun. So the food, sauteed arthichoke hearts, pasta fagioli, wedding soup, Chicken Romano, Veal Romano, beverage list unsurpassed and our usual standards and oh the red velvet cheesecake was picture and taste perfect. All food made to order fresh and it definitely shows the attention to every morsel we enjoyed. Oh, the bread is made locally and it's the best. We were almost the last to leave and we have all the photos to show our fun time. Can't wait to go back for their Sunday sauce. Salute and see you soon. Thank you for your "cordial" cordial to cap off the night. Highly recommend. There is nothing better than a cozy Italian restaurant that is one of a kind. Spring is here and the bocce court will be ready!“
“Called ahead for a Saturday night reservation on a Saturday morning...got a reservation 15 minutes from requested time and was seated promptly.Read the recent reviews, therefore, did not order fried zucchini, or any appetizer, as thep portions were described as large, and they were! The wedding soup was served steaming hot with tender meatballs; could have used more pepper.Ordered two entrees;Alla pescatore, which contrary to recent reviews, was served with firm, not mushy linguine. Garlickly flavor aand could have been tastier with some red pepper flakes.Neptune, with veal, was one of the few entrees served without pasta. Good flavor and about twice a normal portion. We ate half of each entree, and shared a tiramasu for dessert...delicious!!B.Y.O.B.Classic Italian restaurant that is worth trying!Gigantic portion sizBYOBNeptune, veal,...tender and rich flavor“
“The owner knew my father so I order their pizza all the time!! I will admit it's great pizza! Perfectly made. I love their wings, which is new for me. they had a smaller location years ago and didn't make wings then. So I guess what I'm saying is their success speaks for itself. He owns a bigger shop than originally and its successful because this man is dedicated and skilled at what he does. Their food is made by a man who has done this for so many years of his life that he perfected his art!!!! So if your looking for good pizza, hoagies, wings, Stromboli and much more, that taste better than others, it's better to get it from a place that busted their buns to be a local family favorite. The crew in the kitchen and behind the counter are also amazing ? they are the oil that makes the wheels turn smoothly in this place and most of their efforts shine through!! I absolutely adore this shop!!!“
“Had a wonderfully delicious experience here with my husband. They were extremely accommodating to my food allergies (went above and beyond) which really made such a diffference. The food was excellent and our server was extremely attentive and helpful. We'll be back.“
“What a great idea to have a "fast food" shop just 1/2 block from the actual full service, very busy restaurant. With fresh, refrigerated, and frozen food, bread, sandwiches, the restaurant favorites, without the wait. No seating, just an order counter, with wonderful staff, anxious to help. Go!! You will not be disappointed!“
“Food was excellent...as was the service!Don't be put off by the outside of this little row house turned restaurant; inside is warm and inviting. Even though we were in a small room, with most tables filled, it didn't feel cramped and we could actually converse without shouting. Not inexpensive but worthwhile!“
“Fantastic food in a warm environment that's always offering up something fun. So so sad about the fire, but also so so excited for the reopening in the fall. Until then, I love finding Sprezzatura soups and other prepared meals at the Millvale Market, they never fail.“
“Celebrated my son's 18th Birthday at Anthony's in Monroeville with family. We weren't disappointed. Friendly and attentive Manager and staff. Ordered appetizers, salads and a variety of pizza's. The food was delicious with high quality ingredients. Would definitely recommend!“
“Angie's is a family owned restaurant with the sweetest staff. They truly treat you like family here! I recommend their beans and greens and their spinach calzone! They are a BYOB which is always a plus! The Christmas decorations are so fun and abundant! The space is great for larger parties as well!“
“First time today being at this Newkensington landmark the submarine sandwiches here are remarkable very good fresh bread made daily really good deli very nice owner very nice experience he even gave me a free cookie! ? We'll definitely be visiting this place anytime I need a sub in newkensington ????“
“Lou has been making the best pizza's on the east cost for well over 40 years in this same town, and the consistency now is the same as it was over 30 years ago, DELICIOUS. The crust is perfectly crafted to never be soggy and never overdone. The italian sausage is homemade and the quality is impeccable. He's a one man show in the kitchen and applies the same care to each and every pizza served from his shop. For real, delicious, and high quality pizza this is the real deal.“
“The owner of this establishment is one of the best people I know. It’s not just a product to Bill. It’s his passion, with Over 30 years in the food industry, Grand Slam pizza provides quality and the perfect ambiance for your family. I recommend highly. Joe “
“The thin and the thick square (sicilian) were excellent! I'm a total pizza snob and tried both and am so glad that I did! This was my 1st time trying as I don't live in this area and I'm totally impressed. Can't wait to order again! The owners were very nice and everything was ready on time and hot!“
“My husband and I have been coming here for years. The food is always great, the atmosphere is laid back and comfortable, beers are cold and delicious, plus the best happy hour deals around! But, truly, the best part is the phenomenal bartenders. Every single one of these ladies do a great job. They're are alll sweet, professional, and make everyone is always taken care of. Special shout out to my Tuesday girls who are serious rock stars and keep us coming back every single week, Brit and Kristie!Vegetarian options: Cheese pizza, MYO pizza, breadsticks, spinach hoagie, sandwiches, Mediterranean pizza, spinach and Feta pizza, vegetable pie, fries, cheese sticks, onion rings, fried zucchini, mushrooms, spinach and feta rolls, pasta“
“Went there years ago when I worked in the area. I ordered a large pepperoni and wings. These wings were whole ones and tasted great. I got the light spice. They were very good and the pepperoni pizza was as good as I remember years ago. They also now accept cards they were cash only before. Can't wait for my next order.“
“Love love love Frankstown Wood fired Pizza! I crave it everyday. My boyfriend and I like the margarita pizza. So much so that we get it about once a week. Workers and owners are very kind and make delicious food. You can taste the freshness of the ingredients of both the toppings and dough in every bite. If you can make it there before it’s gone their fresh baked bread is wonderful!! I recommend and tell people about this place all the time. I would give them 100 stars if I could ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“
