As a patron of JB’s for 13+ years, I must finally leave a review. Few places in Philly make me feel like I’m at home the way JBs does. While we aren’t currently living in the city, we find our way back at least once each year while in the states and it always brings back memories. This neighborhood spot has very good drinks, great bartenders and a casual, comfortable feel. Depending on what time of day you go it can have quite different personalities. Daytime brunch is laid back and fun, especially when there are djs, which is often. On weekend nights it is rowdier and also fun. Upstairs is probably the best rock club in Philly.

Love the place the atmosphere is great and it gets some great acts, but 2 of the last 3 times I was there I stayed around for a few minutes to talk to the bands and was aggressively pushed out by the staff even though I knew the bands. I wasn’t the only one. It was only 11pm and I don’t drink. The aggression was not necessary. I complied nonetheless but it’s not like it was an issue.
