A true dive bar. Like, acutally. A lot of trendy places call themselves dive bars but still charge 15 dollars for drinks and only have sour beers on tap.The drinks are cheap, there is heavy cigarette smoke in the air and the bartenders are a true slice of Philadelphia (but extremely friendly). Came here originally because of it being the namesake of my favorite TV show, but enjoyed an authentic experience that couldn't be replicated elsewhere.

Needed a place to briefly hang out for a half hour and we tripped over Paddy's, a small dive bar apparently the inspiration for "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia." First, didn't know there are bars you can still smoke in any U.S. city, let alone Philadelphia. (A warning if you don't like smoke.) Second as a designated driver for the evening, tried a nice zero option, Lagunitas Hoppy Refresher. Worth checking out including all the wall memorabilia.

Cool dive bar in Old City. Few beers on tap and a full service bar. Great prices too which was definitely welcomed. Our bar tender was really cool; she went upstairs to search for a shirt size for my husband to purchase. They have stickers and other stuff available for purchase too. They do allow smoking inside so be prepared for
