“Friends dinner out on a rainy Saturday. Our Mr first time to Noir since the Pandemic. It's even better than we remembered. Same comfortable, relaxed, neighborhoods atmosphere. Same warm and welcoming service. And the food is inspired. Particularly good: broccoli rabe with sausage and beans starter, arancini, gnocchi in mushroom gravy, short rib, and (amazing) spaghetti with crab sauce. Desserts were fresh and especially tasty. “McMenimin's is a terrific, very popular neighborhood bar/restaurant. It can be noisy, but if you sit in the back room, the noise is not too bad. We were there on a weeknight (Tuesday), and yet every table was filled by 7 o'clock. The food is better than one would expect for this kind of place. The fish and chips, chef's salad with portobello mushrooms and plant-based "cheeseburger" were all excellent. And portions were huge. The server was very pleasant. The reasons why this is 4 stars and not 5: No cocktail list at all and just a few not-so-great wines by the glass. And the entrees were served way before we were finished with the appetizers. They must have thought we had to catch a train. If you don't mind being rushed like crazy, then you might give McMenamin's 5 stars.“

“Perfect neighborhood gem. Gastropub food is just delicious. Wide variety of food options as well as a terrific beer selection. Through the pub and then a doorway into the "house" next door is a very cozy two floor (maybe three?)experience, a house turned into an eating area, also a surprise pinball machine corner and televisions on both floors. Very unique, very comfortable. You just want to hang there all night as if it were your own house. Love it“
“I’m really on the fence with this review. The service and ambience were great. It’s a trendy little neighborhood bar with good music and good people. Three draft beers with common names and off we were to our table. The beer is brewed offsite but it’s Meeting’s beer: love that. However, the food left much to be desired. The bread and butter were good, fries were done right but the clams and Turkey BLT…meh. The clams were so chewy…I mean like, super chewy and I could not cut into it with my teeth. I had one: full stop. Now ordering a Turkey BLT, one should not expect the moon but since there’s about 7 - 8 things on the menu I would hope that each dish is done to near-perfection. It was not. It was essentially basic. Did I eat everything save for the clams? Yes. Would I go back? For sure. The service, people and beer are worth another pass. And I’ll definitely try another dish but I won’t go hungry. Live music would definitely draw me back in!“

“We used to come to this bar all the time back in the day for the wings and the outdoor patio vibe but this time we decided to book an event here. We had a celebration of life and it was literally perfect. The service was amazing, we needed an extension cord, they found us one. We needed a mic, they got us one. We wanted to set up as early as possible, they let us come in the night before which was a blessing!! Food was great, atmosphere was great, and everyone raved about how great it all turned out. 10/10 would recommend. I was a little disappointed in how they took care of an issue that happened, though. But all in all I would go there again when I'm in town. They're a little pricey, though. But the food is good. “Came here two nights in a row on a business trip at the beginning of December. We had 8 people in our party and the staff did a wonderful job taking care of us swiftly and without error during the busy weekend service. Drinks, apps, entrees were all fantastic, and the wings were some of the best I’ve had. Atmosphere was great, and seeing as I’m still an emo kid at heart I was a big fan of the music selections the nights that we were there. We all left extremely satisfied and I know that I will definitely return when we are in town again.Shout out to the manager, you were awesome too!“

“I actually do not usually do restaurant reviews, but was so please with Con Murphy that I felt like I had to share. I feel like there are many restaurants in Philly, and this one deserves more attention. We were day-tripping Philly and enjoy seeking out the local Irish pubs. We were charmed by the vibrant and welcoming atmosphere! It was noisy and small, in a fun and happy way. The TWO bars were well-stocked. We came with the family and everyone was pleased. We started with the Parmesan Truffle French Fries and they were exemplary especially paired with the Aeoli. The blackened Grouper sandwich was "sublime" according to my son who works at a restaurant! My daughter didn't prefer the crust thinness of the flatbread, but enjoyed the potatoe soup. The Irish fare was well done. My son ordered the shepard's pie and my husband and I both ordered the beef stew. I am picky of "Irish Food" bc so many places do not give it the attention it deserves, but everything was prepared beautifully. If you like very rich, decadent broths and hearty, meaty portions, then the stew is for you. The bread it was served with was unbelievably flavorful and had a tender center and crusty exterior. The stew tasted like it had slow-cooked for hours and did not dissapoint. I ordered the "Tullamore Gold" cocktail and it was a tad sweet, but flavorful. I wish I had paired a red wine or whisky with the stew. My husband had a canned apple cider which was tasty.“

Straying from our regular menu favorites ( tough to pass on the always great burger or turkey'n' brie sandwich),we both had the same "special"...a smoked kielbasa/ kraut sandwich. Not an item I'd usually rave over, it was just perfect...the best I've ever had. Great kielbasa, nicely toasted roll, homemade-tasting kraut...and even a high-quality tasty brown mustard. Eric and Vinny are two of my favorite bar tenders. They make even the slowest nights the most fun. I normally come during the week, as opposed to the weekends, and I never regret it.“
“A must try hidden gem in the neighborhood. Unique Belgian beers and stouts. Must try the Hercule Stout if you have beef of any kind. Don't underestimate the vegan seitan sandwich. Packed with umami flavor and very satisfying. Wife had the Steak Frites salade and really enjoyed it. Dessert was the lime pie - very tart and very good.“
