“Edit: I received a response within minutes of my review and after a brief exchange the manager (or owner, I'm not sure) sent me a gift card as an apology. My wife and I ordered food tonight and it was AMAZING. My faith in the couch tomato has been restored!!! A former personal favorite of mine. When they hit their food is out of this world. But the miss rate is getting bigger and higher making it so that I now hesitate when I have a craving for my favorite pizza or salad. They used to be a once every two weeks option for me, now they're once every two months.“
“This was the loveliest dining experience I have had in my life! From the moment we walked in we were greeted with such warmth and cheer. The host Chris wished me a happy birthday upon our arrival and we were even given a menu with "Happy Birthday" printed on it. What a kind gesture, right? We were shown out to the gorgeous string lit terrace with heat lamps and beautiful greenery everywhere. We were given champagne on the house and delicious sourdough bread. Erin our server was so sweet and genuine it felt like we were regulars although it was our first time there. The food and cocktails were so amazing and the prices are so affordable for the ambiance and quality. We were too full to order dessert, but they brought out a piece of cake with a candle anyway to celebrate. I just want to encourage other to give this place a try because you will truly be blown away. I was sad to leave. The staff, ambiance, and food were just complete perfection. Thank you to everyone for making our night so special!“
“We had a nice lunch today! I loved my eggplant, tomato, and avocado tower. My friend loved her tomato basil soup and bacon grilled cheese! Our server was attentive, timely, and informative. It's a great go-to place at any time. Parking was plentiful! This time, we had some apps. Service and food are still great!“
“An amazing experience from end to end!I'll be honest, I had mixed feelings about the pre fixe menu. I loved the idea of checking my stomach at the door and allowing the chef to do their thing. On the other hand, would I like it? Would it meet my growing expectations on FSS?The answer was, in spite of significant hype and exceedingly high expectations, absolutely amazing. The only things you need to think about with regards to FSS is when you'd want to make a reservation and what cocktail(s) you might want along with your meal!“
“Hershel's East Side Deli is located near the center of the Reading Terminal Market, and was quite busy when I went, although it was Saturday around lunch time so that's to be expected. Great service across the board, was met with a smile by everyone I interacted with despite the crowds. Getting to the main attraction, the pastrami sandwich is out-of-this-world delicious. One of the best sandwiches I've ever had. I originally thought the price ($17) was a bit much, but it is well worth it for the experience and the portion size was so large I easily made two full meals out of it.“
“Picture the quintessential neighborhood corner sandwich shop of your dreams - this is it. This is the spot. Found it today and knew at first menu glance it’d be dope. The daily specials (kielbasa & egg sandwich, and Italian melt) were great and already thinking about the next ones I want to try (ex. The Bobby). Slaw, pickle, and Vietnamese iced coffee were great too!The place was happily busy on a sunny Saturday afternoon - line inside but I ordered ahead online since I was walking my dog, and their service was great — I literally stepped inside and within 2 seconds someone came out to greet me, I said I placed order, they said my name and handed me my bag and coffee.I don’t know what we the people of Francisville did to deserve Sandwich Corner Market, but my heart is full (and stomach)(Can you guys maybe make like, a little sandwich sample flight? Like 3 little sliders somehow? I want to try so many at once but can’t be slamming like 3 sandwiches and foresee myself stressing in the future over which 1 sandwich to pick per order)“
“Superb service and phenomenal food! Fun atmosphere for a quick bite, after work wind down, date night, or time with friends. Excited for the live music and other events.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian and vegan options that will satisfy all cravings.Dietary restrictions: Lots of vegan options! Chef is crazy cool and accommodating.“
“Friends dinner out on a rainy Saturday. Our Mr first time to Noir since the Pandemic. It's even better than we remembered. Same comfortable, relaxed, neighborhoods atmosphere. Same warm and welcoming service. And the food is inspired. Particularly good: broccoli rabe with sausage and beans starter, arancini, gnocchi in mushroom gravy, short rib, and (amazing) spaghetti with crab sauce. Desserts were fresh and especially tasty. Great evening!“
“We made a reservation at Mish Mish but there was some unorganized pop up bar there that night so we found this gem across the street from them. The food was great and the staff were very friendly and attentive. I had the surf and turf. No actual lobster but lobster sauce drizzled over steak which wasn’t bad for the price point.“
“Ordered the butter chicken and naan for an early dinner. The food was wonderful and the restaurant itself is very cozy in a sweet neighborhood in South Philly. The service was friendly, quick, and kind. I will definitely come back when I’m in Philly!“
“Stopped in after a doctor's appointment to grab some breakfast. It's easy to walk by the place and not realize it's there. The service was slow but friendly. They have a really nice seating area upstairs. Lots of sun and artwork. I had a toffee nut latte which was disappointing. The espresso was burned and the latte didn't have much flavor. The bagel sandwich on the otherhand was delicious! A nice soft everything bagel with real egg and sausage. Very tasty. I will probably try it again at some point to give the coffee another shot.“
“This place has the best vegan food that doesn't taste like traditional “vegan food”. It also has non-vegan options, so it is great for bringing non-vegan friends/family. They also have a wide variety of alcohol in case you enjoy that stuff. They also have a huge selection of pizzas, even including vegan ones! You can even sub vegan cheese on any one of the regular pizzas. I had a sandwich that was made of pizza crust, and ive never had anything like it before! 10/10 will be returning.“
“If I could give ten stars, I would. This is some of the best food in town. You really can’t do much better. The menu is innovative and fuses deliciousness from different cultures. It is always fresh. It’s also consistent. The chefs there (yea they are chefs, not cooks) also help reduce food waste by making their own soup stocks. Have you tried the birria Raman? That consommé is liquid gold. It’s heady and dense. The soup alone is a meal.May I also add that the people who work there are solid individuals that genuinely love to cook and create. Please eat here.Kid-friendliness: All people welcomed here. All ages too!“
“Ordered online before but going in person is better because of course the food / coffee is fresher. I love to work here with a laptop for an hour and there are tons of outlets to use. The place is also super cute.Vegetarian options: There’s only one vegetarian breakfast item besides oatmeal but it is really good.“
“The food is delicious. It never disappointed, and sometimes we chose food randomly, not knowing the names.Parking: Manayunk is a difficult for parking, especially during peak hours. I usually find parking around pretzel park or up the hill from it.“
“I had hoagies from a lot of places throughout Northeast Philly to South Philly and in between. Point is, this is the mecca of Italian Hoagies. Grateful they made their way up to my old neighborhood. The hoagie is stacked with enough meat that a half will probaly fill you up. Quality and quantity is hard to be beat.“
“Love the staff. They make you feel like family. And it's fun to see so many people dining there know one another. such a nice neighborhood restaurant feel Food was so good! My husband loves the chicken parm and the mo's chicken. My kids love the pizza, pasta and meatballs. I always try to order off the specials board. They steak and halibut have been my favorite. The pesto gnocchi was a special but it's on the menu now, it's so good! And love a BYOB.“
“Loved stumbling into Knead on a Sunday. We didn't realize they closed at 1 but we're grateful they still took our order 5 mins before close. We were excited to try the Super food bagel and the tograshi and wow! The flavor combo of the tograshi with the long hot cream cheese is delicious enough to definitely become a frequent flyer here. My husband and I agreed that next time we need to come when they open because the texture of the bagel was a bit tougher. We can imagine just how yummy these would be fresh out of the oven.“
“This is my second time ordering delivery from Jacks and the second time I am beyond happy. Both times my food was so hot it had to cool down for me to eat it.I would confidently say this is the best cheesesteak in the area.I’ve also had the chicken parm sandwich and fries both also above the average standard of almost any other place around here.“
“I have been to my fair share of Halal trucks in Philly. This has proven to be my favorite. Some would claim they are all the same but the consistent quality of this location is what puts it above the rest. Comb over rice, extra red sauce. At least once a week.“
“Seriously the best pizza in South Philadelphia. Delicious! I usually order the Grandma pie, which is always so good. Since it was Valentine’s Day we order the heart shaped original pizza and I think I have a new favorite! The crust was thin, crispy and absolutely delicious. Definitely will be ordering that again! The real star of this order were the “Italian Chicken Wings”!! These were the best wings I have ever eaten in my life!! So tasty, seriously you have to try them!“
“I’ve known Gill and his family for a very long time. Close family friends. They are truly the same way to everyone. Personable, respectful and overall very nice people. Their food is beyond amazing. LEMON CHICKEN! They have been doing our events for a long time. 100%“
“I eat breakfast from here often from grubhub most time, other times I walk since it's around the corner from me. The food is always on point 3 stars for the atmosphere cause of the location, no parking really lol. But I do recommend this place to people of don't know of it.“
“I’ve had takeout a few times here. OG is in my rotation. They can occasionally have a miss but it’s worth a try. Pizza here tends to usually be on the doughy / thicker / floppy side yet is still oddly “thin crust” style? It has a bit of an identity crisis. It can plausibly crack a top 10 pizza in Philly on a good night depending on your preference but it wouldn’t grab a top 5.“
“After many years my friend finally got me to go with her to Rib Crib. For the tons of B-wings I have devoted my whole life I could have been enjoying these sooo much more. Great food selection, great prices and great staff. Spent look like much on the outside but treat yourself. It’ll be your new go-to eatery.“
“This place is great, but every time I order the Napa, and ask for it cold, they grill it every time. Which is weird because they throw a question mark after grilled. Why isn’t cold the default? :/ please stop making my Sammie hot. Place still rules pull up.“
“Wow this food is fantastic. The wait was really long for counter service and there are only a couple of seats to wait, so I recommend ordering all in advance for pick up.Vegetarian options: It's all vegan. The chik'n and burgers are good. The sweet potato fries made my day. I'm not vegan because I won't give up dairy so I was hesitant to get a vegan milkshake but it was actually pretty good. I'd definitely order it again.Parking: There are parking garages and street meters in the area. It's expensive and can be hard to find a spot when a lot is going on in the theaters.“
“Great margharita pizza and house (Philly cheesesteak) calzone. Friendly and nice staff made for a great stop for an inviting sit down or take out. It’s confusing from the map at first that it’s downstairs in a high rise building, but the escalator promptly takes you there, and a security guard will kindly key you in to the location. Flavors are tasty. I’d stop in again for sure.Vegetarian options: It’s Pizza!“
“I've been going for years. That means many decor changes as well. As usual, their cold food is never bottom of the container scrapings, always fresh appealing to the eyes. I must admit my last visit was the first time I'd chicken wings so delicious. The meats are all you can eat or by the pound. The extensive salad bar also includes some meats you won't be hungry. So much to choose from. If you go, you will Enjoy. The Staff Always The Best.Vegetarian options: Salad bar offers many types, not just lettuce several mixed vegetable options too.Parking: Pay attention to the street parking signs.Kid-friendliness: I've taken my grandchildren and have been there with other families with children it has never been overwhelming or messy like some places I've been.Wheelchair accessibility: Sidewalk to door no stairs. Off street parking in the rear . Again no stairs parking lot to door No marked handicap spots front or rear.“
“This place is so comforting. The food is absolutely amazing and the prices are amazing. The atmosphere was amazing. I have nothing bad to say. It wasn’t crowded the times I’ve been. This is a hidden gem that everyone should know about. Also I got the Birria tacos“
“Need a tasty authentic lunch before you meander through the Mutter (which has no restaurant)? The dear lady here interrupted cutting and folding her banana leaves to seat a weary traveler taking a few hours of “medical me-time.” Simple and clean, small homely place, only a few steps from the museum. My soup, followed by Tilapia were both super tasty and presentation was impeccable. Belly filled with Thai tasty treats, I took on the museum with vigor and excitement.“
“Goldie: I went a full year here in Philly without trying you, and for that I am truly sorry! Stopped by this inside-of-the-whole-foods location for a Saturday lunch to-go and am so glad I finally did! I went with the falafel sandwich with plain tahini sauce and was, unsurprisingly, totally blown away by how delicious, colorful, and flavorful these falafel were. The pita was the perfect lunch size and priced for inflation at $12. I want to go back very soon and try one of the tehina shakes, since I've heard those are can't miss. The team here was great and I'm so glad to have local awesome options inside of the store. I think I'll prefer one of the other sauce options (looking at you harissa), but that's for a future trip. Love to see a business who knows what they're good at executing perfectly, and that's what you'll find at Goldie. Falafel! Many forms of falafel! Looking forward to my next salad, Sam, or shake.“
“Great service and greater food, but the atmosphere is the real draw here. Very nice place to take a date or family in town. Elegant but casual. The brunch menu has a fantastic range while staying brief. Strong 8/10 overall I will definitely be back again“
“The food is delicious! Got the fried ultimate platter, with Mac and cheese and hush puppies and fried fish with potatoes and broccoli. EVERYTHING was bomb, and i really appreciate that they give you you monies worth! Will definitely be coming back.“
“I have been a customer for a decade. He has the best pizza I ever had in my life. Yes, the best! I always order buffalo chicken and Veggie large pizzas with red sauce. I invite and relatives and they always love to reorder from there. It s a family business and they are taking great care of their business. I live them.“
“The food was reasonably priced and very good. The drinks are pretty solid and also very reasonably priced. Server was very nice and willing to ask the kitchen about a friend’s gluten intolerance. Tip: you’ll either need need cash or or Venmo.“
“NEVER had anything bad from Nitty's. Pizza is phenomenal, Pizzaz fiercely rivals, no I lied, outright beats & corners the market against the usual Pizzaz contenders of South Philly. Owner/operator Frank is a stand-up neighborhood guy who always greets you with a smile and is happy to see you as if no time has passed by since you've last seen each other. I've yet to dine in, so can't comment on the staff other than they're mostly female & very easy on the eyes, lol.Parking: It's street parking at 18th n Moyamensing so there are so many factors regarding parking. But if you're a South Philly native you already know what it's hittin for. But all in all parking shouldn't be an issue. At most you may have to walk a block or 2.Wheelchair accessibility: None that I saw“
“First of all, the folks in this cafe are the nicest people in Philly. Second, the service is fast, friendly, and helpful. But most importantly, the food is high quality, fresh, customizable and with big portions. Love the $12 lunch special!“
“The server was super nice and attentive! The food was ok.. I got a bento box and a sushi tray as take out! As you can see in the picture, there are rice and salad served without any dressing! Am I expected to eat rice buy itself..bcuz my other portions of bento meal are small sizes of sushi, tempura veggies, and 2 dumplings! Do you see spinach.. not washed?!“
“Stopped in to grab brunch with my daughter. We were pleasantly surprised that we were able to be seated right away (on a Sunday:)She had the grilled chicken sandwich and mac and cheese. I had eggs benedict with smoked salmon. So good!!Nice crowd, great music, and super friendly staff…“
“I love them! I was worried they wouldn't reopen after the pandemic. Huge menu, lots of breakfast options as well. I've never had anything I didn't like. Corned beef, turkey club, French fries (some of my most recent orders). My only tiny complaint is post COVID-19 the bakery section was greatly reduced & they did away with my fav' dark chocolate & toffee covered pretzels. You can't really find them anywhere else.“
“I grew up in New Jersey and consider myself a pizza snob. When I moved to Philly, I thought that they couldn’t do pizza right. I was wrong. Not only is Pizza L’Angolo a wonderful experience, but it is very legitimately the best pizza I have ever had. We moved from Manayunk and still make an hour drive to get it. This place will change your standards for pizza. I can’t say enough good things about this place.“
“I ordered food for 9 people from this restaurant for my mother-in-law's 97th birthday party! The artisanal pizzas and varied salads were delicious. Sandwiches and fish and chips were yummy! Their website said they weren't able to deliver to my area about 10 miles away, but when I called, the manager said delivery would be no problem! They were so accommodating and the food was wonderful!“
“The food was good! I was expecting it to be a little better based off photos but it was tasty. The spicy chicken sandwich is SPICY be warned. I can tolerate spice but I was fighting for my life with that heat. Everything else was tasty and the staff was so friendly and helpful.“
“Amazing food, great team that works there. They always remember my name and are very friendly.Today one of their staff was telling us about the Tres Leche, and they gave us one to take home and try. Absolutely phenomenal. We’re customers for life here“
“Fresh or frozen, it's all here! The freshest cuts of restaurant quality fish all cut and trimmed right there on the premises. Lot of prepackaged options, including Fruits De Mer brand seafood and homemade fishcakes and crabcakes just like you enjoyed from the old Ippolito's shop in South Philly.“
“I'd heard this place many times before but never been. So I decided to give it a try when my parents came to the city to visit. Ended up being a really good option for a Friday night dinner.I made a reservation to be on the safe side, so we were seated immediately when we arrived. The hostesses and our waitress were all very friendly, polite and service oriented. The vibe was pretty nice with the white tables, darker grey booths and mood lighting based on what part of the restaurant you're in. And the place is very clean, including the bathrooms (always a real test on the cleanliness for me is how the bathroom looks). We all enjoyed our dining experience, from the service of our waiter to the actual look, portion size and taste of the food. We ordered a few things to share: Calamari Fritti, Sicilian Salad (no pepperoni) and the Three Cheese Piatta Bread. Those were great portions for sharing and honestly kind of filling. We each ordered entrees: mom got the Grilled Salmon, dad ordered the Chicken Marsala and I ordered the Rigatoni Vodka with Crab & Shrimp added in (no pancetta). My dish was delicious! Very rich but not too rich, tasty and very large portions again - I took most of it home. Though we were all full, we couldn't leave without dessert lol. So my dad got an espresso, while my mom & I split the Triple Chocolate Cake. It was sooo decadent and rich, but good. I'm not sure if I would've been able to eat by myself given all we ate before that, so I'm glad we split it.Overall, a really great experience and good food and reasonable prices. My parents enjoyed it and I would definitely go back again. Give it a try!“
“Great spot for fast casual lunches in University City (that aren't salad)! I love how fast this food comes out, which is great when picking something up to go. Atmosphere: There is indoor seating for around 15 people, though most people seem to take their bowls and eat elsewhere. You walk through the line and can select the sides / mains you would like, and whether you would like a grain or salad base. Food: I like the variety of options, especially their sweet potato and broccoli! I also appreciate how much protein they typically give, which makes for a much more filling lunch. Overall: 4/5 - great option for a quick lunch, and the food is solid for this type of meal!“
“This place is a delight, and caters to both locals and travelers alike (of which I’m the latter). You can genuinely feel the sense of community as you walk through the door, especially when you get recognized by the staff. Do note that it can get pretty crowded, though. Also, shoutout to Angel. They’re a phenomenal bartender.“
“We used to go pretty often when we lived there before the fire so many years ago but went again recently. The outdoor space and nice and comfortable, the food was really tasty and service was good as well. A nice place to get some good food.“
