Before even touching the food, I snuck some fries and fries never tasted so good.The cheese steak egg rolls were the best I've ever had... crunchy outside and well seasoned, melt in your mouth inside.General Tso's Salmon and Shrimp was on point!Tina's Wings... while I prefer my wings fried a little harder, they were still very well prepared and tasted great!I will absolutely be back and telling everyone they need to check this restaurant out!“

The food and drinks were all fabulous - Bar Jawn has a chill, relaxed atmosphere but boasts an elevated bar menu that is so much more and so far beyond typical bar food! Some of our favorites were the drunken ravioli, the buffalo arancini (so inventive!!!), the chicken parm (make sure you get it with ravioli!), the mozzarella triangles (mozz sticks with an upgrade!) and the eggplant stack! “Illata has become our favorite Fitler Square restaurant, and we've been in the neighborhood for 22 years. It's a little gem, nestled on Gray's Ferry Ave just steps from South Street. The staff is extraordinarily pleasant and helpful, and the food is - in a word- exquisite. All delicious, all prepared beautifully, a very balanced menu of seafood, red meat and vegetarian options. Their desserts are divine!
But perhaps the most amazing, and extremely reasonable addition, to the menu is their sourdough bread- hearty and flavorful, with a perfect slightly chewy feel on the tongue. We've taken to order some to go!

I chanced on this place one day for the pizza... got brocciole pizza and spices, and potato pizza- outstanding selection and the best or as good as the best pizza I've had. Crust and flavor combination was perfect. I came back 2 nights later to try other dishes... I ordered gnocchi because this shows quality in a restaurant- I've had many bad gnocchi dishes- Alice restaurant was the most perfect gnocchi I have ever had in a restaurant. only home made is better. The texture was perfect and soft. spice perfectly blended. I asked to add sausage... made a perfect meal. The Gelato on top of the small tart was superb. they make their own gelato... quality is excellent. Anna, our server was outstanding. her people skills and customer service would make the owners proud to represent them. Only draw back was that our bar seats were a bit uncomfortable. it is a bit cramped in there. they need a bigger space. absolutely loved this place!!!!“

“We are visiting from Augusta, GA and read awesome reviews, and they did not let us down! We got the roasted beets, the butternut squash pasta, and the brisket sandwich. It was all FANTASTIC. We were quiet while eating because we were too busy focusing on the food and every time we did talk it was about the food being so good, ha! Great atmosphere. We wish this spot was back home. “My family and I (5 of us) were visiting Philly this weekend and were looking for a nice brunch place. Continental Midtown was perfect. The food was amazing. I had the Chilaquiles. The flavor was pure yum. I ate every morsel on my plate. My wife loved her Eggs Benedict with Salmon. The eggs and sauce were perfectly cooked. The service was perfect. Our server, Sela, was so hospitable and sweet. She took our order and the food came out quickly as if it just came off the grill. Will certainly return the next time we are in Philly. Wish I took some photos of our food but we devoured it in no time.

I was at The Ridley House on Saturday night (May, 11) and even though she was very busy with other customers she took time to treat me like I was her only customer!. I never experienced that level of customer service before. I am disappointed that she does not work behind the bar anymore because I thought she was a great bartender and cared about her customers!. “Was there last night for early dinner and stayed to see the Eagles first TD. Food was fresh and extremely tasty. The vibe here is great. The service was excellent. Our server, Max, was very personable and gives very good recommendations. Max is not the only server like this. It seems to be the culture there. They have a lot of loyal customers. When we left the was a couple looking for a place to eat and watch the game. I quickly recommended Glory. If in Old City and near Chestnut and 2nd give them a try. You won’t be disappointed.“

It’s a shame because I live right around the corner, but I just can’t justify paying $20 for a sandwich. If that included tip, I would understand, but I don’t believe the tip is included. I do like that they have vegetarian options.“

“Ordered takeout and it was out of this world as always. When I called they were super busy and I let them know I will wait if Chef can accommodate and I provided my order. Let them know I’m right down the street and just need a 5 minute notice and they would call back when it wasn’t busy - they called me back in less than 30 minutes and said ready in 10 minutes. I love the fact that if they are too busy and can’t accommodate at that time they’re honest. It’s a small family business the Mom is the host and probably one of my favorites she is like old school south Philly meets Mother Theresa! The chef is a perfectionist and I always try at least one special and have never regretted it. I am utterly amazed each time at the dishes he comes up with. Overall price wise they cannot be beat, huge portions and every bite was heavenly. Where can you get this much fresh, delicious food for under $100 no where except New American Bistro. It’s also extremely rare to get take out and it be as good as served in the restaurant. The beet with pistachio encrusted goat cheese salad with raspberry dressing. This salad had it all! Everything was so fresh and crisp. There were so many bursts of flavor. This was a special hopefully it will be added to the menu. Rating: 5/5 Spicy crab chowder - we always order. It’s my husband’s favorite soup. Rating: 5/5 Blackened Scallops with Raviolis and Lobster Sauce - we always order. Appetizer size comes with 4 blackened scallops and a couple ravioli. Rating: 5/5 Maryland crab cake with Ravioli and pesto sauce. This was my first time trying and typically does not get pesto dishes. This had so much flavor and was refreshing if that makes any sense. Appetizer size comes with a very large crab cake and a couple ravioli. Rating: 5/5 Gnocchi's with Jumbo Lump Crabmeat and Gorgonzola Sauce- this is my absolute favorite dish. The Gorgonzola sauce you could drink. I dip the homemade bread in the sauce after. It’s my favorite. I’m a huge Gorgonzola fan I put it on everything. The Gorgonzola sauce on this particular dish I find to be mild and perfection. I just woke up thinking of this dish it is so unbelievably good. Rating: 5/5“
