“I visited acacia for the first time and really loved their cocktails. I was afraid that without reservations, the wait would be too long. But even on a Saturday evening in Southside, we easily got a table at 8:30pm. I got The Architect which was spicy and refreshing. The service is amazing and they will make any drink off the menu as well. I asked for a Mai Tai and got the best one I've ever had. Definitely recommend this bar to go to with friends. The ambience is also easy-going and chill for catching up with friends or relaxing after a long day.“

“I like and enjoy the last call , the waitress I get EVERYTIME I'm there is amazing!!!!! she has the best work ethic and is very welcoming. the only problem I've ever had at last call was the buffalo chicken dip didn't have much chicken but other than that everything was super tasty and we had an amazing time . Offered a "peach tea", it wasn't peach at all and barely tasted like tea, I took a sip and asked for another drink.....we were billed for the green salsa and the nasty tea.....neither of which we wanted or enjoyed. I have never been to a restaurant that charges you for something you didn't like or ask for. ordered 2 soft chicken tacos....small as a taco bell taco and had a tablespoon or 2 of juice in them.....just runs out all over the place.“

“After being invited many times, I finally got out with some friends to try the Elks Pittsburgh famous Friday lenten fish fry. And overall, it definitely lived up to the hype.For $17, you get a huge fish sandwich and two generous sides. I went with Mac and Cheese and fries, and it was definitely a comfort food experience. The bar has very fair prices, and the staff run what is inherently a chaotic situation extremely well. Just get their early, or be ready to wait in line. Definitely worth a trip.“

“Lefty's is a great place to grab an ice cold beer when you need a break from the crowded streets of the Strip District. The beer I ordered was seriously the closest beer I have ever been served at a bar. The bartender was welcoming and the price was reasonable. Indoor seating is available as well as a few outdoor seats in case you want to continue people watching during your beer break.“

“Cash only joint! Smallish neighborhood gem. Looks unassuming from the outside but it's just perfect for the locals. No beers on draft and that's a little sad but the delicious food totally makes up for it. The bartenders/waitstaff are always friendly, attentive and funny. Since we moved to Mount Washington, we're pretty much slowly becoming regulars so there go our plans to lose weight this year ?“

Their own ciders range from extra dry to sweet and provide plenty of variety to make a flight worth it. Friendly service and a usable terrace make it nice for a date night or evening with friends. “When I first started coming here many years ago, even before I actually lived in Pittsburgh, it was my go to coffee shop. The owners really took pride in the shop, it was always clean and the owner and employees were always smiling and knowledgeable about the coffee - not your typical "I'm a barista, so I know better than you" that one experiences in many coffee houses these days. And the coffee was always top notch, obviously the most important point. Fast forward a few years later and it's become a true cafe. A very good menu that changes depending on the season and even day to day. Decided to stop by for brunch because Croque Madame was on the menu. There aren't a lot of tables so it can go fast, but luckily we found a spot at the bar. Even though the cafe was at capacity, it wasn't noisy, and it felt comfortable. I'd usually a great image to come and chill with e coffee. Yes, one can chill with a hot coffee! The main attraction - the Croque Madame - really was amazing. The quality of the cheese and the preparation/cooking were just right. Very much like the time we ate it in Paris many years ago. Full disclosure - I am biased as I've come here for years, except not as much recently, and this is the first time I've actually dined here - always just a latte either to go or sit and read. Been making too since they added a cafe menu, but better late than never! If you come to this cafe you won't be disappointed. I recommend checking the menu first as it does change. But if you see something you typically like, I feel confident you won't be disappointed.“
