While trying to do a selfie two lovely people offered to take the picture for us. They were so kind and very friendly. Little that we knew they were the owners of Isabella and we talk with them. The dinner was delicious and the atmosphere was very pleasant. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if ever in the Winker Barre area in P.A.”

“I needed gas and happened to see this small food trailer with a few customers, the aroma coming from the food was amazing. I had never had halal food before so while there was no line I walked over to check it out. The woman working allowed me to taste the chicken and it was delicious. I asked how it was served and she said I'll make you a combination platter. She piled up a container with a seasoned long grain rice with chickpeas in a sauce, a big scoop of seasoned chicken and a scoop of cubed lamb. She recommended the white sauce on everything but not knowing what it was I asked for just a little. Hands down one of the tastiest meals I've had and extremely filling from the large portion.
Update: September '25
I happened to be in Wilkes-Barre again today and I saw the food truck, There was again a line and I remembered that I liked the food, its been about a year and I couldn't remember what I had or liked. When I got to the window the same friendly woman was working. I said I don't remember what I had but it was chicken and something else she said ahh it was chicken with lamb over rice. How did she remember me from a year ago?! She asked if I wanted the chickpeas and I said yes so she gave a big scoop. I than said extra white sauce because it was amazing on the entire dish. It was as delicious as I remember and now that I'm sitting here stuffed I wanted to post a review. I absolutely recommend you to try this place. The food and service is amazing. I could see this place doing well with a brick and mortar location but I'm sure that would cause a price increase. A full overflowing Styrofoam container of the above with a can of ice cold soda was $10 and that cant be beat as I'll likely be full all day off this meal.”

“We had an overall good experience. Our wait staff was wonderful! Detailed, attentive, unassuming. The young men that were clearing or filling water were excellent too. Our food was delicious. However, it was my mother-in-law’s first visit. She has ambulation issues and walks slowly. We entered the casino floor which is gated off from the shops and restaurants. We did not realize we could not enter the restaurant from our position without going back to the front entrance. There was a gate located about 20 ft from the restaurant and I had hoped that if we asked them to open it for a disabled patron they may be able to help. I called to the (5 or 6) women behind the host station. They looked at me and ignored me. I called out again and a woman came out to talk to us. It was obvious she was unhappy to help. I asked if the gate could bel opened to allow my mother to cross the isle without going all the way back. She (later found out her name was Dawn and she was one of two managers) was dismissive, short and offered no assistance, no empathy. And she finished by saying “this IS a casino”. Which I found insultingly obvious. I suspect she didn’t realize we had a reservation. I suspect Dawn didn’t realize we were going to be her customers. I didn’t mention it - but shouldn’t they be hospitable to even the casino goers? It’s wasn’t a big deal in the scheme of life. But it did put a dark cloud over our dinner. I’ve been to Ruth Chris many times at many different locations. I’ve never been treated poorly. I won’t be returning the Wilkes-Barre location.”

“Hands down the best and most popular resturant in NEPA. This place is always jammed packed, even on holidays. Wait staff, and management really take care of their customers. I reccomend the ceaser salad and hanger steak. The creme brulee is the best and highly sought after. You are never dissapointed here- even the kitchen staff will come out and check on you. A+++”

“Sometimes it's hard to find a cafe with great coffee and friendly baristas. (Often baristas have an attitude.) This place has super friendly staff and I was happy that the large coffee "for here" can be served in real mugs instead of to-go cups and that they put 4 shots of espresso in the large. It's also hard to find non dairy unsweetened milk, but they have it here. Prices are not ridiculously high like many places. Definitely recommend!”

“My family and I had some friend over Saturday evening and wanted to keep it simple with pizza. Our order was a plain, pepperoni and a grandma. As usual every pie was so fresh and delicious. My favorite will always be the grandma, just the right amount of pesto oil, thin and crispy. While I forget his name, the tall gentleman with glasses, who I assume is the manager, is always so polite and keeps things moving behind the counter. Dino’s will always be a pizza that I enjoy and highly recommend!!!!”

“I had just missed my flight back home and after 5 hours at the airport things began to look rather grim. I then decided to take a walk and by complete luck happened to use this location as a pickup spot for my Uber. What started as me wanting a small snack then turned into a newfound appreciation for Somali cuisine and an eating experience I will have yet to forget. Tawakal Halal gave me the best food and service in about 14 minutes than other establishments have managed to give me in an hour, so great in fact, that I wouldn’t have forgiven myself if I didn’t go a second time before I left. The food by itself is beyond amazing and I could write a whole review entirely on how great the food is, however, my personal favorites were the Goat Biryani and the Halwa as an excellent dessert option after. In addition to the food, the service here was amazing as well. The staff were always making sure I had everything I needed and doing everything they could to make my experience there a pleasant one, even offering me tea as I waited for my Uber. All in all, the best way I could describe this café to anyone wanting to know more about it is that it is truly everything you could ever ask for in a dining experience: fantastic food and amazing service. It even no longer made me upset that I missed my flight that day for if I hadn’t, I would have never been able to find this gem of a café. Thank you, Tawakal Halal, so much for giving me an experience I will never forget and know that when I return to Boston, you can bet the first stop on my itinerary will be your café. “I love gyros. This is the first place I've been too where the gyros had the thickest slices of lamb, fresh vegetables and was so good. I usually ask for extra tzatziki sauce and didn't this time, that would be the only thing I would change these gyros are so good and worth every cent. They were so filling I ate one around 12 in the afternoon and didn't eat again the rest of the day.”

We ordered 2 small pies one cheese and one Hawaiian. And Buffalo Wing Wraps. Excellent all around. The crust was chewy, which I loved. Service was excellent as well. Much better than the well know Pizza place by the Mall. There we waited for service and then we had no plates. Again had to wait. Highly recommend Aldo's.”

“This is the second time it was dried out. No taste. And the bottled garlic that they are using was so over powering it for Ed it down. And I asked for a little more sauce. When it came. It was all dried. Like it was sitting g under the heat lamp a long time. This is the second time. And it had no taste. Twice . And the prices have gone sky high for. Pasta. 17 for a lousy dish of clams in sauce that had no taste. I’m very sorry we loved co I g here for years. But the food is. O share what it is. “I was at Millers in W-B on 4/27, which was also the night of a concert up the street. It was packed. The staff at the front door were SO NICE! We waited at least 30 min at the bar with no eye contact from either bartender. Then, a man who was I’m assuming a server jumped back and served us. We were so thankful and he was also, SO NICE!!!! We sat at the bar for one hour until our table was ready. I used to bartend, so I get it that you can be busy, but at least acknowledge the customers. I also observed arguing between staff and then apologies. I’m assuming, bc it was busy and the main bar tender was stressed, but take that behind the scenes. When we finally got to our table we had Zachary as our server who was PHENOMENAL!!!!! He knew we had a show to get to. He was attentive, friendly, funny and the BEST! I would probably go back, bc the French dip was delicious, but not on a busy night.”

By far, this Ihop has surprised me the most. We all think that
Mom and Pop diner have a much better chance of having greater food and service, but this franchised IHOP, which is specifically at this location, has great quality of food and is very clean at all time.
I discovered that because the owner actually does personally be there.Take care of every aspect of it quality.
Some of the waiter and waitresses can use a little more training, but they are already working on improving this area.
Everyone should give this place a chance to prove that they are, as good as mom and pop places, if not better.
Unlike any other stereotypical franchises, they are very accommodating, and they're always willing to listen to the customer.
One more added note They're actual food, and pictures on the menu are pretty close, unlike all other franchises, which have fancy pictures, but actual serving are extremely off from pictures in the menu.”
