Lately, I’ve been sticking with the chicken & waffles. The chicken is always seasoned, & the waffles are always nice and fluffy. The french toast is good, but I never seem to finish it.“

“It's such a cute, sweet smelling store. No, they don't have forks and napkins because it's for you to take with you, not make crumbs, and leave trash in the store. I'm in love with the pumpkin spice bundt cake. If you do a survey on the bottom of your receipt, you can get a free mini bundt when you purchase one. That way, you can try more flavors.“

“Decadent parties and fragrant coffee, this cafe is a must visit. The pistachio sticky bun lives up to its reputation! The bagels are more like a sandwich than bagel but also delicious. It gets quite crowded on weekends so come early for a spot. They have a cute outdoor patio for the warmer months.“

“Hadn't been in years but glad to have returned. Started with house white wine and a cocktail for hubby. Shared their Caesar salad, then we each had a pasta entre: ravioli with butternut squash and linguin with clams. Also shared a mushrooms side and foccacia. All the food was delicious! Ended with sharing a cannoli and a cappuccino. Overall great experience in a romantic setting (2-person booths in the lower level) with an our wonderful server Rachel.“

“We have been getting take out from here for years but never sat inside to eat. We decided for our 1 year wedding anniversary that we would go here and it did not disappoint! We have always called the gnocchi "pillows of heaven." They are the absolute best! We also had the lamb which just fell off the bone and was so tender. And we definitely recommend the buratta for a starter. You can tell that everything is homemade including the bread. The service is also stellar! The staff is so attentive and so nice. We felt like family the whole meal. It's also a byob which is great to bring your favorite bottle of wine. I can't say enough about this tiny south Philly gem!“

“What an AMAZING and DELIGHTFUL shop!! The sandwiches were literally to die for! I got the Knucklehead on a Sesame Roll toasted and jt was SO good!!!! I went with my boyfriend! They played soft Sinatra music and the vibe was totally chill. The Host was funny and laid back and the food was impeccable! We didn’t even notice but the Owner was at a table in the shop and was so friendly! I literally felt like a welcomed guest in his home! “From the tasting to after the wedding, Bredenbeck’s was amazing! The cake came out EXACTLY how I expected it to. It was beautiful! And it tasted amazing! All of my guests really loved every layer (each one was a different flavor). We had a small issue with the filling but Bredenbeck’s rectified the issue right away and took accountability! I look forward to visiting them for another cake order in the future!“

“I had a party and needed a gluten free and vegan dessert option for a few guest, Burt also wanted something the masses could enjoy. The donuts were coupled with an ice cream bar and other mini dessert and NOT ONE DONUT WAS LEFT! Everyone loved them! And the flavors are rotating and funky and not your average donut! “The owner was very friendly and you could tell he cared about the food and making us feel welcome. The kefta was amazing, large portion, seasoned perfectly and juicy but not undercooked. The space is low lighting and vibrantly decorated, I think adding candlelight or soft yellow lighting fixtures to the space would add a lot of warmth to the dining area. Great place! “Magical, friendly and oh so delicious! We adore our times spent here, we devour the food and love the cider. It's a rare occasion when you feel like you're really having an absolutely special moment in a restaurant, but this place is the real deal! The staff are superb, friendly, funny and so absolutely kind. We love the cookies, the pulled tofu sandwiches are amazing, corn bread is delicious, soups, potato wedges OMG YUM, seriously get anything on the menu! This is a true gem of Northwest Philly!“

“This is a fabulous local restaurant and if I lived in the neighborhood I would be there at least twice a month. I was hosting some out-of-town visitors and we enjoyed between the three of us, two plates of pasta and a caprese salad and it was more than enough food and we also enjoyed our red and white BYOB wines. Afterwards we went down a block Dirty Frank's on the corner of 13th and Pine for a nightcap which completed a full circle Philadelphia experience.“

I had a special birthday this year and some great friends were flying in to help me celebrate. I had traveled with these friends and had many wild experiences, one of which was a very specific picture this fantastic bakery not only replicated flawlessly but made it oh so much better. I am amending my review in light of their response because it shows that they do care for patrons and our concerns. i will not contact further because i did not post the review for some freebies but for the principle of appropriate response to customer concerns.I recommend ANY of their cupcakes because they are always on point. their cookies are big and beautifully delicious. cinnamon roll is good. iced coffee hits the spot!i’ve had the hangover sandwich, the mccrumb, waffle hash and breakfast burrito and i just find it really awesome that they feature other vegan restaurants food. that’s innovative and great for trying different options with each bakery purchase.if you love cannolis get the large otherwise the mini will do the trick!chocolate and confetti cake are a GREAT gift for any last minute parties!parking sucks but there’s nothing the business can do about it. i would do dine in more often if there was easier parking in the area because the decor is very fun. they take apple pay.Snippet of my original review:i buy here very often. i buy cakes for birthdays, uber eats for delivery and do pick up.for the first time, i had an issue and i told an employee and their response was indifferent. “The BEST cream filled doughnuts I have ever had. The filling itself is light and creamy with just the right amount of sweet. The texture of the doughnut was exceptionally well done as well. The peanut butter cream filled doughnut had peanut butter mixed in with the cream filling, the Nutella just has Nutella spread on top. Plenty of variety even in cream filled doughnuts. The flavor of the blueberry fritter was top 2 for a non-apple fritter. Not as heavy and crispy as I like a fritter though.Choosing from 2 cases of minimum 30 doughnut 0 do not recommend.Eating any variety of doughnut they have: 10/10 would recommend going every day for 2 weeks to try them all and enjoy favorites. “I lived in Seattle for almost two decades and will admit to being a bit of a coffee shop snob. The Nook hits so many of my high points. Extremely good locally roasted coffee (in-house!). Amazing baked goods. The cocoa coffee bread must be tried, but leave me a slice! Great staff. If I ever move out of the neighborhood, I'll journey to the Nook for a great cup and bite.“

I love the croissants here because they are not too flaky yet still buttery and fresh. However, the scone was too dry for my liking, and the toasted brioche was okay. It was a fun breakfast for us with friendly service.Be mindful of the parking as well, because you’ll need to parallel park and pay for the time you’re there. If you’re even a couple of minutes late, you may end up with a ticket, which was a painful experience for us.“

“Went here for the first time yesterday with my friend, and I must say I felt in love! Don't be fooled by the size of the place. It may look a bit small and old, but the menu is wonderful. They have about 100 types of lassi (not just mango lassi), ranging from fruit flavor, veggie to peanut butter. We got a mango - papaya lassi, a rose lassi and a chicken chatt. It's hard to say which one was best, because they all tasted wonderful. extremely aromatic and not too sweet (Yesss!) The owner was really friendly and nice to us. We got overwhelmed by the menu, so we stood there 15mins just to study it. Lol and he just chatted to us the whole time and making great great suggestions! I haven't met such a friendly, sweet and nice owner in a very very long time. And you can tell he's sincerely nice to you. And other customers there were very sweet as well. The highlight was the Butter Pecan pancake with caramelized banana—possibly the best pancake I've ever had, though crispy edges would have made it even better. “I used to come here 30 some years ago when it was Sonoma. It has been several other restaurants through the years but this is the best by far. There are 2 bars. One on the first floor that has retractable windows to open up to the outside. Then there is my favorite bar upstairs. Light, airy, nicely painted walls with olive leaves and glass ceiling.There is a happy hour Monday to Friday, 4 to 6pm. All their signature crafted cocktails are $7 and they are delicious. Our bartender, Jeff, was welcoming and very knowledgeable about his craft. Love that they use a lot of local products. There are other drink options (see my menu photo below) and fun food items. We ordered 2 pizzas (shrimp and artichoke and the pepperoni). Both were fabulous.I will be returning again for their in house made pasta and I can't wait.Parking: People often think that parking is difficult in manayunk but there are plenty of options in the nearby lots if you can't get one on the street.“

“I can't say enough good things about Meg and her work! She was absolutely fabulous to work with for my geeky 1950’s wedding. She was sweet, professional, and up to whatever challenge I could throw at her. From start to finish she was amazing to work with, our trial was delicious and we spent months anticipating getting to taste the amazing cake again. On our wedding day I was so excited to see our Doctor Who themed cake and cup cakes, it was more then I could have ever imagined it to be. All night people commented on the design of the cake, and once it was cut people commented on the taste. I am so glad I was able to save a few cup cakes to take home, I’m not sure we would make it a year to taste the cake again. “Seriously the best pizza in South Philadelphia. Delicious! I usually order the Grandma pie, which is always so good. Since it was Valentine’s Day we order the heart shaped original pizza and I think I have a new favorite! The crust was thin, crispy and absolutely delicious.
