DO NOT come to this "American restaurant" if you want a racist experience.
My partner and I (both asian) had a reservation at Persimmon in Rhode Island for 9:00 PM. I arrived slightly early, at 8:53 PM, and was seated around 8:55 PM. The host never mentioned that my partner arriving later would cause any issues, so I assumed everything was fine. My partner arrived around 9:30 PM, which should not have impacted the quality of service, especially since the restaurant chose...read full review
Having good food is no reason to treat people poorly.
Even Michelin star restaurants invest in respecting guests. I’m not sure why that was not the case for us, but we left and i’m sad that my daughter had to witness such intentional lack of courtesy, bordering the line of contempt, that I would be surprised to see from a stranger.. still shocked. Just didn’t expect this from (what people say is) a well-rated establishment.

The worst restaurant experience I've ever had. We made a reservation for 9:30pm Saturday evening. The restaurant changed our reservation 3 times on Saturday. Persimmon provides an exceptional dining experience with impeccable service and fantastic food. The restaurant offers small, creative plates in a tapas-style setup, allowing guests to try multiple dishes. Standouts include the foie gras appetizer, which is highlighted by its fantastic presentation, and a variety of other well-executed dishes such as the deviled eggs and spaghetti bolognese. With top-notch service and high-quality ingredients, Persimmon is a must-try in Providence. Guests have noted that the oysters taste incredibly fresh, while the desserts, like the honey orange tarte and the pistachio and strawberry layer cake with basil ice cream, are delightful. The ambiance is nice and the area is pleasant for a post-dinner stroll. It's especially great for vegetarians, though the menu changes regularly. Overall, Persimmon is an excellent choice for a memorable meal with both creative food and warm hospitality.
