Everything on the platter was flavorful, juicy, and grilled to perfection. You could taste the authentic spices in every bite. My daughters especially loved the Veg Samosas, crispy, hot, and filled with delicious spiced potatoes and peas. As usual, they were perfect. It’s our favorite every time we visit! We also tried the Garlic Naan and Cheese Naan both were fresh, soft, and went so well with the meal. The staff was super kind. Definitely one of our favorite places for Indian food. “I never leave reviews, but this place is just too good to not share. The drinks are unique and delicious (My favorite is the Island Boi, or the Orange Creamsicle one, or maybe the Coco Loco one 😂😂). And the food is incredible! I’ve never had anything there that I didn’t love. My favorites are the hush puppies, hummus, Veg Fil A sandwich, and the rice and beans bowl. This time when we went, the chef added protein crumbles, nacho cheese, and green onions on top and it was even better. My son loves the Hoot sandwich and he’s 10 years old and usually non-vegan….so that’s a huge compliment to the flavor of that sandwich. On top of all this, the place is just cool. The atmosphere is so comfortable and inviting, like I could stay all night if I didn’t have to put my kid to bed! 🤣 I just really love this place and I’m so glad to see it added to our neighborhood!!”

“Dave’s Hot Chicken located in the heart of Columbia is a food chain restaurant that offers cooked to order chicken. I was so excited to try Dave’s Hot Chicken, due to all of the fantastic reviews. When arriving be prepared to park in close quarters, the parking lot is pretty small and the spots are narrow. I went around noon and there were still spots available, but it was limited. If it is a nice day you can sit outside but they also offer tables and booths inside. I loved the decor inside. It was lively. When walking in we were greeted with friendly staff who were eager to assist us. I was so pleased because I was unsure how the ordering process worked, but it was extremely easy. I ordered the mini chicken sliders that came with a side of fries. If you sign up for the rewards app, like I did. You will get a free drink and if you complete the survey at the end of your order you will get an additional free drink, which is awesome. Our service was extremely good, even though we were in the midst of a lunch rush. All of Dave’s chicken is fresh and cooked to order. One will receive a pager and it will buzz when your order is ready. I like this because it makes your experience more personal. Our meal was delicious, the chicken was so moist and the breading flavor was fantastic. One special feature Dave’s Hot Chicken offers is you get to decide what spice level you would like your chicken. I decided to do no spice, due to my daughter not having a spice tolerance, but have heard amazing reviews of Dave’s chicken with the spices on it. In addition our meal came with coleslaw and fries that were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Although Dave's is a fast food restaurant the establishment was extremely clean with no visible dirt on the floor. I was highly pleased with our experience and will definitely come back to Dave’s Hot Chicken. Dave’s restaurant is not like the average fast food chain, you can tell that they take genuine pride in every order they serve.”

A few dishes I remember: soup (creamy artichoke ) and salad, the Mia Nonna pasta dish, fried ravioli, lobster ravioli, chicken fettuccine, bread, green apple cocktail, even the water with lemon, just everything. So we sat down and waited in about 10mins 3 people passed us and went and sat down so I got up and told him then he rudely seated us. As we ordered he was looking at the game on the television and gave us no eye contact. I asked for 2 unsweet teas 1 with no ice I got two sweet teas, I told him that it was sweet an I wanted unsweetened but my husband said that he would keep his sweet tea. So the waitress picked it up and brought me a sweet tea again this time with ice when I asked for no ice. So the second time I decided to just let it sit there because he seemed upset. I placed my order and asked for an extra side of potatoes, he said they come in 3 so I said ok I want it. Then my husband asked do potatoes come with his order and the waiter said “yes do you want to add extra” my husband said “naw I’m good” when the order came I had only 3 potatoes which is what comes with the order, my husband had four potatoes that’s three that come with the order and one extra. I looked at the receipt and saw that he charged both of us for an extra order of potatoes. I told him that I don’t have an extra order in mine, and that my husband didn’t order an extra side but if he did, he should have gotten three potatoes, not one extra . He said “yes he did ask for extra” we both said no he didn’t. and he ran to the back talking loud i can hear him say “bro I swear they ordered extra potatoes. We don’t say anything else. We know what we ordered he was too busy watching the TV while we were ordering . He brought the ticket to the table and told us we can pay up front. He didn’t say thank you, have a good night or nothing he never looked back our way. he never even apologized for bringing me sweet tea both times with ice. We left him a $10 tip although he didn’t deserve a dime but he could have gotten more. I’m just not the type to leave nothing. His attitude was so nasty I will not go there again!”

“I'll start off this review by saying that I was born and raised in Hawaii and miss the food there very much. So when I heard about this Hawaiian fusion restaurant opening in Columbia, I was hoping it would taste like home. It did not disappoint (except for one thing). We got the kalua pork mini plate and crispy garlic chicken mini plate, both Hawaiian style. We also got a spam musubi and Hawaiian Sun canned drink. Everything came out to about $27 and it was more than the two of us could finish. Each plate came with rice covered in teriyaki sauce, mac salad, and coleslaw. The mac salad tasted just like home and the slaw had the same dressing as the mac. The rice was a little too wet and mushy for my liking. I loved the crispy garlic chicken, it reminded me of mochiko chicken from Hawaii. It was made with dark meat and didn't have a strong garlic flavor, but it moist and the fried perfectly. Now, the disappointing part: the kalua pork didn't taste like kalua pork. It was delicious but it tasted more like bbq pulled pork with teriyaki sauce on top. The spam musubi was good, but again, the rice was a little mushy. The atmosphere was nice and chill with the dragon mural and Hawaiian music playing, but a lot of the tables were dirty even though we were the only ones there. Overall, I really enjoyed it and I will be coming again as this is the closest thing to home I've been able to find in Columbia.”

The selection of donuts are very unique. I ordered 2 funnel cakes and they were made to order and delicious! The cheesesteak had great flavor, the meat was so tender that my teeth sank into the sandwich like a hot knife through butter. The fries were seasoned perfectly.

Honestly, I don’t get why this place isn’t rated a solid 4.7 or higher. Maybe some people value quantity over quality, but if you care about great food, excellent service, and real value, this spot deserves more credit.

“Great wings! The ghost pepper wings are hotter than I expected but I’d still consider them in the mild category. Tried several other flavors and they were all really good. Prices are average, maybe a little expensive but still fair. Minimal seating but most don’t eat in. Recommended!”

“In town for an event and ate here. We were greeted by friendly host and other staff greeted us as they were passing by our table. Service Was excellent. Ambience was really relaxing and our food was fabulous. My husband had the portobello sandwich and said it was the best he’s ever had. My salad with added grilled chicken (cooked perfectly tender) was really good and excellent portion size. Overall wonderful dining experience and would definitely visit again.”

“M Kitchen ~ our go to in Irmo! Had a delightful, long lunch yesterday given it was our anniversary. My husband and I of 38 yrs ate at the bar, which was practically full…by the time we left. We had a great experience trying a few new items recommended by Melanie. We always find it interesting how she remembers most everyone’s name and what they like to eat drink! Melanie, thank you for the terrific dining experience once again!”
