“Pooka’s kitchen is one of a kind and serves absolutely delicious food. The platinum wing sauce was unmatched, the fried fish and shrimp had the perfect crust, and the hush puppies were out of this world. God was in this dish. Great service and energy all around.“
“Called in order without realizing they’d only been open for 1 minute, regardless they were polite and service was great. The mango habanero wings were the best wings I’ve had since coming to SC and are up there with some the best I’ve ever had.“
“Great light fry on the shrimp and fish. Loved the black eyed peas and red rice. My wife and I loved the Mac n cheese even though that’s not usually my thing. This will definitely be a stop on the next trip to either Charleston or Savannah.“
“Always my favorite lunch spot at KI! For this visit we had Cafe Eugenia make a beautiful lemon raspberry cake for my dad's 80th birthday party- it was wonderful and a huge hit at the party. Thank you so much for fitting us in to your busy Easter schedule- we will be ordering for our next occasion soon!“
“We've been here a few times. First, everything is made fresh daily from quality ingredients. You can just tell. The grilled cheese and tomato soup is really delicious. Sounds so basic but it's really not - the smoky flavor is so smooth and sweet. The chicken club is delicious and the breakfast sandwich on sourdough bread is excellent. Smash burger is very good and very hearty- two big patties. I'm happy to have this option so close to Kiawah Island. Great high quality food and super friendly service. I highly recommend you check it out for yourself. I don't think you'll be disappointed.“
“Friends of ours invited us to brunch at Harvest Moon...I'm so glad they did! Their collard greens and lowcountry fair was easily as good as Justine's Kitchen in downtown Charleston. Only instead of waiting I'm a long line out the door and around the corner, we got fast, friendly service!!!“
“Amazing place! I had the crab cake sandwich and my husband had the fried chicken . Both are so delicious ! And the key lime cheesecake is to die for !! Also the place is super cute and staff (Maria) is such a sweat heart and amazing service . Definitely recommend !“
“What a fantastic restaurant that's been on Johns Island for a while. I have great memories of lunches and breakfasts here. The atmosphere is cozy and quaint and the staff members make everyone feel welcome. I love the farm fresh ingredients! I had the special of the day chicken sandwich and it was generous and perfectly prepared! My side was tomato pie - something they are known for. After lunch I got eggs from a local farm and coffee beans from a local roaster. This place is a true gem!“
“Let me tell you, this is exactly the food that we were looking for! Food that is made with love. Not even comparable to a big chain restaurants. All the dishes that our family ordered, each one of them enjoyed the dishes. The staff were very kind and also recommended dishes on the menu. We will be back! Thanks. Also we had a large RV and a vehicle behind it with plenty of parking.Parking: We had our RV, with our vehicle behind very large parking behind the restaurant!“
“Scott and the whole team at Hege's were amazing on a busy St. Patricks Day weekend! We sat at a twotop in the bar area and Tiffany was our server. She was amazing and really helped make the night special. The food and drinks are always exceptional. We had the crab and shrimp cocktail and steak tartare for starters and for dinner the blackened redfish and steak frites. Hege's lives up to the Kiawah Island experience.“
“Summer days when the grands are in town, this is the best place to let them get out energy. The standard pool is great for laps and lounging. Shoulder season the pool is heated and in the heat of summer, the water is chilled. And the food and drink services during summer are handy!“
“In addition to the 48! wines on tap, great food. I had an awesome burger: surprisingly the pimento cheese perfectly complemented the hot pepper bacon jam, served on brioche bun. Probably 1/3 lb patty. Amazing combination. Happily I opted for potato salad, which also was slightly different and yummy. Partner and I had seasonal vegetables (carrot, Brussels sprouts, asparagus that night) which were ok but not as spectacular. Wife had shrimp and grits, also great. Good dining experience. But of course the 48 wines "on tap" was unique.“
“Visited on 10/26/2023.Shout out to Mark Wiens!! #Foodblobber. Everything; even down to the customer service was great. I drove 2hrs & 55mins away from my location for the Garlic blue crabs. I ordered (3)1/2 dozen boxes; Yes they don’t have restrooms, but forget that. Potty before you go, and bring your own hand sanitizer as I do everywhere. Red rice and shrimp were good too. Prices were. Reasonable!!!“
“Fischer's has delicious food. I LOVE the mahi tacos (it's more like a mahi quesadilla). Great wings, grilled buffalo chicken sandwich, and tenders for the kids. The atmosphere is a locals dive bar, so just know that's what you are going to experience, but after a day on the boat and swimming we don't feel uncomfortable in this establishment. I do wish they had outdoor seating. There are times in the busy vacation season the wait times have been long.“
“A nice respite from the uppity atmosphere of the area. Food’s quality is the same standard and the coffee is some of the best around. The staff are all friendly and answer any questions you have. There’s a reason locals frequently get their coffee there. I’d definitely recommend the avocado bagel sandwich.“
“Had she crab soup( pretty good , uses nutmeg instead of traditional sherry)flounder and shrimp for 2 people and fried shrimp small and fried green tomatoes, crab patties for others. Tasty but the flounder was mushy. A disappointment. A bit pricey. Will return for a different selection.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp and parking“
“They have the best wings. However, tonight I ordered my usual order. Hot teriyaki. The bartender who took the call for the pick up order put in hot. I confirmed hot teriyaki twice and crispy. Wings were perfect level crispy. However 44 dollars later, I get home after a long 12 hour day of work and have hot wings. I tipped her for getting my order wrong and just taking an order by phone. Not hot teriyaki. Can someone please teach Stephanie (though well mannered and sweet) she has to repeat orders back to confirm she heard it right. Not just "I have that ma'am" ... clearly she did not. It was loud in the background as usually is in the late evening... just repeat the order back to the customer's.“
“I had such a good dinner here and the food was delicious. I took one star off because they don't have a separate fryer for shellfish which limits what someone with a shellfish allergy can choose from the menu. Aside from that, it's located right on the golf course and has indoor or outdoor seating. Prices are on the higher end but the quality of the food really shines.“
“Got take away so not sure how the dine in service is. But our meals were ready exactly when they told us (20-25 minutes) and everything was correct!Husband had the filet and I had the crab cakes which were just how I like the.- very crabby and not full of breading and mix.Would definitely return. Seemed like a laid back environment great for watching a game.Kid-friendliness: Both kids enjoyed their meals- Mac n cheese and Chicken tenders. Fries were just ok but that always happens with takeout. They were probably great when fresh. Not super reserved and formal... I'd take my kids for eat in.“
“Too Good Food needs to chage their name to Too Awesome Food. I was there last week had the Blackened Chicken with macNcheese..Pulled Pork with collards and whipped potatoes to go.Holy Cow everything was so great. Not everyone can make collards but they can.The food was fresh and tasty. I love that everything is sourced locally. If you havent stopped by you are missing out..The service was wonderful, thoughtful and precise. Ive been dreaming about it since last week.“
