“Had to wait a bit. the hostess seemed agitated with something but, did her job nonetheless. The waiter was awesome, courteous, and knowledgeable. The food was on point. The chips salsa, queso Blanco, and guacamole was delicious. The Shimp tacos were perefect! It was a bit breezy making the patio area a bit cold.Parking: Pay parking in the lot behind the restaurant, if you don't mind walking they have 2 hour parking along the street. I found a spot about 3 blocks away at the Circle K.“
“First of all I absolutely love the vibe of this place it is so decorative with all this beach memorabilia and such. Everything was just perfect for a nice sunny beach day. I got the fried flounder (comes with fries+coleslaw) Loved the flounder however it was pretty heavily breaded for such a thin fish but the fries and coleslaw were very good. However I think the best thing here was the service, Our waitress was totally chill and made sure that we were having a comfortable experience. However this is the cherry on top, I forgot my hat inside of the restaurant on the table and I left and was walking down the street and our waitress rushed over and returned the hat to me. A little tip, There is a super cool farmers market behind the restaurant starting at 5pm on Thursdays. Would definitely recommend going to the market and restaurant!“
“Great beach vibe and fresh seafood for lunch.First time visit during a quick trip to Folly Beach.Friendly staff polite and helpful. Initially chose to sit “outside” in the back. Unfortunately, the back area was loaded with flys and gnats. Really too bad. Ended up eating in the dining room/bar. Family friendly at bar height tables. Enjoyed mahi blt. Great fish and bacon sandwich with seasoned fries. Really tasty and fresh. One had a fried chicken salad and the other a taco salad. The fried chicken was overcooked on the salad.Without telling you in advance they slap a fee on top of the bill if you use a credit card. Not cool. Especially because we choose to go after seeing on the Hilton dining website good reviews about this place….“
“This is a hotel restaurant right on the beach so the view is amazing. There has been a menu change and one of my favorites is gone, but my salmon salad was very good. The vibe is modern and clean, and the service was excellent. I sat indoors so I could work a bit. In the past, have also enjoyed the outdoor bar area with beach access (you place your order at bar), and like that too. I recommend it!Parking: There's parking available if you're a guest at the hotel, but I wasn't so paid for parking on the street.Wheelchair accessibility: It's available.“
“My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary having a “staycation” in downtown Charleston. Our plan was to put our name in at 167 but the wait was just too long. We stopped at a few bars and looked up local restaurants and landed on Anson, which had a reservation available for 2. We’d never heard of the restaurant but the reviews spoke for themselves. We had such an amazing time. The atmosphere was great. We put down that it was our anniversary on the reservation form and the team at Anson went above and beyond to celebrate - an amazing upstairs table, and a bit of champagne, berries, and whipped cream to wrap up the meal. Peter, our waiter, could’ve sold us on just about anything on the menu. We went with the she crab soup, shrimp de johnes, blackened snapper, and the filet with bone marrow butter. Every bite was incredible. We’ve found our new favorite place in a city full of “the bests.” Thank you Anson!“
“The restaurant seems to be showing its age. The gnocchi is still great. The atmosphere, service, and other dishes are in decline. At the price point there are better options in Charleston. They have removed the lime cream puff from the menu, if you are/were a fan of it.“
“Food was excellent! Definitely get the tasting menu! The dishes were a good size for my wife & I to share. They accommodated her with providing a pescatarian option for main course. Great service & atmosphere was warm & laid back. Can’t recommend this gem highly enough!“
“Absolutely fantastic experience at The Establishment. The food was really awesome, but what really set this restaurant above its competitors was the level of service. All the wait staff, everyone, was phenomenally well trained and did an exceptional job. This was our first time going, but it's now on my short list of favorite restaurants in Charleston. Very, very highly recommended.“
“Went here for brunch. This place has great service and atmosphere. The menu is fantastic but the execution just wasn’t 100% ie the portions are small for the price as some other reviews mentioned. We had the fried rice with short rib and maybe six small pieces of short rib and then 95% rices. The flavors were good but why skimp on the meat. So nice place overall but food it hit/miss for the price so just be ready for that“
“Was the rehearsal dinner foe my niece's wedding. Everything was spectacular. Highly recommend the low country boil.Parking: Downtown Charleston has a shortage of parking and Leon's is no exception. Small dedicated lot was full and limited space.Kid-friendliness: Kids attended and service was great.“
“Warm friendly service, delicious food. We enjoyed Glass Onion. The shrimp and grits was lightly and flavorful, in a tomato base. The grilled trout had nicely crispy skin and was well seasoned. The red rice and broccoli slaw, nicely complementary. The Beatles, Stones, Doors and other old sixties and seventies tunes overhead.Loved it!“
“We were visiting Charleston and this restaurant was highly recommended from Embassy Suites by Hilton in Mt Pleasant. We were not disappointed. Located in the heart of down town Charleston on East Bay street ( near Market St). On street parking. Very little. Our server Frederick M. was professional, courteous, experienced waiter, and personable. Great menu. My wife had the Salmon salad was devious and huge. I ate the Soft shell Crab ( total soft-shell crab). Fabulous. Needed a steak knife to cut and eat. Quality of the food was fantastic. service was excellent. Highly recommend this restaurant. Probably need reservations at night ( we went for lunch).“
“We loved our experience here at Cru Cafe. Sally our server was excellent! Her smile and charm at so much to the atmosphere. I loved that they had a non alcoholic beverage too. The beer choices were excellent for our party too. The champagne drink was good tooParking: Easy peasy“
“Absolutely delicious food. We started with the s'mores and carrot cake and were not disappointed. So rich and delicious. We moved on to the fried sweet potato skins, topped with an arugula salad blend. So well balanced and fresh. The main course was the tomato pie. Honestly the best meal I've ever had in Charleston! Highly recommend!“
“A beautiful little restaurant that has it all. The service was fantastic and the ambiance perfect. The sourdough was fenominal. Flounder was amazing but many bites were over salted. Same issue with the rabit pasta being good but much too salty. The dessert - flourless cake was perfect! So glad we ordered it!Really only issue was the saltiness. I would definitely return though, its a lovely spot“
“My only complaint about this place is that when you walk in, you don’t know what to do. No one greeted us and we didn’t know what to do. After asking, we learned its first come first serve, so you literally have to stand and wait for a table and rush to it before anyone else. Other than that, the food was excellent. The service was fantastic. The atmosphere was great. And the drinks were the best. Every time we visit the area, we will be back.“
“Walked in at 2:45 on Monday , got lucky with 3 seats a oyster bar without waiting , excellent service, food and atmosphere, we had gumbo, shrimp and grits, hamburger, 2 parking lots side by side, one is public, the other is restaurant parking“
“BEST restaurant I have ever been to and this is not an overstatement! The service was very professional and I felt like I was attending a classy dinner 138 years ago with my partner. World class chef who is very creative with his menu. The food is on the pricy end but the caliber of the food and service trumps it! The staff puts a lot of effort into what they do- I love their passion. Highly recommend!“
“I could not write this review fast enough. We had the pleasure of having Eric as our server last night. What an incredible guy. He greeted us by name, went over the entire menu page by page, offered recommendations for food and drink. We did the chef’s experience tasting menu and it was incredible. Eric went over each course and explained how it was prepared. Our bill after some drinks and tip was a bit over $400 but truly the best money I have ever spent for food and experience. Again, thank you to Eric for making our time in Charleston so memorable and if we are ever back we will be requesting him by name, he was truly wonderful. -The Fees“
“In town visiting and I just had to stop by Hannibal's Kitchen. I had heard so much about it. The art work was the first thing I noticed. Fantastic! But on to the meal. The food was delicious. My friend got the liver and onions which she said was tender, flavorful and delicious. I got the fried whiting platter. The fish was fresh, crispy and delicious. The sides were good too. So glad we made it there! Definitely stop by when you are in the area. Friendly staff too.Dietary restrictions: Staff were very kind and attentive in handling my allergy to garlic.“
“My husband and I decided to visit Charleston, SC, for the weekend. We ended up googling barbecue restaurants, and who would have known that the restaurant food, service, and atmosphere would be great. As we waited for our waitress to assist us, one of the cooks asked if we knew what we were ordering. We looked at each other, and then I looked at the cook and responded No. He replied I'll send out a sample plate. The sample plate had beef brisket, pulled pork, sausage, and smoked turkey on it. Just to let you know, the food was delicious. I chose to build my own and had the beef brisket, pulled pork, macaroni & cheese. Potato salad. Now I wasn't a fan of the potato salad, it had the taste of sour cream overload. The lemonade was very tart to me. Now for our waitress, Ms. Kirby was amazing. Her personality was amazingly pleasant. We thank you for your amazing service. Ms. Kirby, I pray many blessings of favor upon you and your brother. And blessings upon Swig and Swine business..Parking: There's about 4 parking spaces on the left side of the building and maybe 3 or 4 in the front of the building.“
“Amazing experience through and through. From the greeting on the porch, the intimate table setting, amazing service, and even more amazing food. This resteraunt really curates an excellent experience. Once you order everything at the beginning of your meal you can sit back and relax as the dishes roll out perfectly timed. The chefs delivered the dishes themselves and were as enthusiastic to explain them as we were to eat them. Our server was extremely knowledgeable of the menu and helped guide our choices. The menu on their website was definitely different than the one we were handed. Their menu rotates so frequently that their website lags behind, and that's a great thing. Don't let it scare you away from a reservation, but let it excite you for the surprises that await. We sat on the balcony of the back porch where there are only 3 tables and it was very private! This resteraunt is going into our list of required visits every time we visit the city. Absolutely try this place. You won't regret it.“
“When you are a local in this town it's always tough to find somewhere to feel at home and loved. There are so many options to choose from and so many places don't care about customer relations. Kudu is not one of them. They all smile when i walk in, greet me with a hello and even better i can tell they all like and appreciate one another. It does feel like home and i do feel loved.“
“The service and the ambiance was a perfect setting to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Beginning with checking in with the hostess, my husband was greeted with birthday wishes from every member of the staff that we came across, punctuated with a signed card waiting for him at our table. The only reason I did not give the food a full 5 stars is that my main course arrived extremely over salted. They were very quick to redo the dish, accompanied with multiple apologies. Overall, it was a lovely birthday celebration with a nice live trio providing background music.Dietary restrictions: Pescatarian, dairy-free“
“One of the best dining experiences I have ever had! Menus was beautifully crafted and even prepared substitutions for my wife given her pregnancy. Amazing team that took care of us and got to know us personally in the 2-hour timeframe we were there. At the end, they surprised us with a hand-signed copy of our menu to help us commemorate such a great experience during our baby-moon.“
“We had Fantastic service and amazing steak. The Hot Rock appetizer was fun!Best steak and mashed potatoes I've ever put in my mouth and beer on tap was delicious. The very best though was the service, I hate I forgot his name but he was a gentleman in his early 30s, with glasses and dark hair. Give that man a raise! What a great waiter.“
“Random afternoon out with my pups! Patio is dog friendly. Let me start with the service. Jennifer and Christina were Amazing! So kind and attentive. We didn't want for anything! They always made sure we had everything we needed!FOOD...oh my heavens!! The food was delicious!! Every single bite...worth every single calorie. The James is a place we will revisit over and over again!! Great music, great atmosphere.Jennifer & Christina, thank you for being an amazing dynamic which makes this place great!!“
“I’ve eaten a lot of grits in my life and these are hands down the best I have ever had. Seriously. I don’t know what kind of witchcraft y’all have going on in that kitchen, but it’s incredible. They were creamy, salty, peppery, and cheesy. And my eggs, yall. How do you make eggs taste that good?! Thank you for making my day Little Line Kitchen. I’ll be back as soon as I can!“
“Literally, hands down the best breakfast I’ve ever had. We used to live in Charleston, moved back to NC. We went last week for the first time in 6.5 years…made me want to move back it was so good.Food is excellent. Service is great.Love it there.Parking: Parking lot is very small and tight. Get there before opening to beat that problem.“
“I had Saturday brunch with my parents here while visiting Charleston. It was a lovely spot that felt very hip and had a cool vintage aesthetic to it. The food was amazing and tasted very fresh! We ordered the lamb burger, surfer delight, cauliflower wings, and a cocktail. I loved the cauliflower wings and the lamb burger came with sweet potato fries which were my favorite! The service was great!! Our waiter was so friendly and helpful with choosing dishes. We were also sat very quickly despite it being a Saturday and a busy crowd. The ambiance is so cute and I loved the vibe. It's a bright space with nice windows, a bar, and outdoor seating. Great spot that I'm glad we came across while visiting!!“
“Cool atmosphere but a bit pricey for what you get. I went a few times, once with a group of four and they messed up two of our orders. They happily fixed it which was nice but it also wasn't busy. Food is okay but nothing special imo. Dog friendly patio area is a plus. Large parking lot is also nice. Personally, I only recommend going if you really want a late night bite or during happy hour, which does have great deals.“
“Really great Chicken Caesar salad and great outdoor area for a balmy evening bite. The Salmon BLT was solid too. Hidden favorite was their house honey mustard which we used on our fries. Service was great and the porch as I said, was lovely.“
“Great place, excellent food, reasonably priced, and fantastic service. It's an absolute gem on James Island worthy of downtown Charleston. Never had something I didn't like. From a fine Charcuterie board to an Italian BLT... steak to chicken and waffles. Lovely outdoor seating area and an elegant yet comfortable bar. It's definitely worth a visit.“
“Wow, what an incredible restaurant! From the service to the atmosphere to the food, gee, it really hits all the marks! I want to express my gratitude to the incredible staff for making my visit absolutely incredible. I’ve talked so highly of this restaurant, and I haven’t even mentioned the incredible, high quality cups. From top to bottom, this may be the best restaurant ever!“
“Blind Tiger has always been one of my go-to spots in that area for lunch, or a weekend drink in the courtyard. The food is always consistently good, and the service never disappoints. The only downside, sigh, is that over the years the cheese curd portions went from "dang, how the heck can two people eat all this" to "hmmm, it costs more, but now it's a tiny side dish now, so get your own". Supply chain, inflation, who knows, but at least we all know that cryptocurrency will save us and make the cheese curd price inflation less impactful.“
“Need reservations , this is an upscale restaurant and to enjoy the experience always nice to dress well but casual is fine here as well. The tables are well spaced out and the bar and tables are well spaced out They have a number of great waiters to help decision making as there are many interesting signature dishes The drinks and desert menu was good as well We had the steak verde and the cauliflower as the appetizer and the gnocchi, potato crusted grouper and peel Milanese as our main course Great service !“
“Great bar/lounge in a relaxed setting on King's St. Nice ambiance to kick back with friends over modern cocktails. They take pride in their house made infusions and unique cocktail recipes. Over the top mixtures and formulas make up some of their wild flavorful concoctions! Bartenders are nice as well as the wait staff.“
“Talk about a great time with amazing eats and even better hospitality. The gang at Bedford Falls are just stellar! Bar tender Roscoe is a top notch lad and the owner Brendan made us feel right at home. Can’t say enough about the food…just perfection. Try the Fried Chicken Sandwich! Hands down a place to visit if you are in town.“
“Visited Coleman Public House on Sunday afternoon. Great burger and Beet Salad. Great beer selection.Service was great too.I like a clean restaurant but my eyes were watering from the cleaning solution they use and the smell of it made it hard to enjoy the meal. Also, I can't help but mention that the silverware was what you might expect at Golden Coral not at an upscale Public House.“
“Izzy was the best!! The entire time, she checked on us many times, came by after we settled up to see if we changed our minds and gave us multiple options for the most popular drinks and her favorites. Izzy is the kind of server you want every time you go ANYWHERE!!!The owner also came by numerous times to ensure we were comfortable and cared for.My family and I will 100% be back to see her and the staff again next time we come to Charleston! Best bar in the C-Town!!“
“Although I have never stayed at one of the PH rooms, I have dined there a number of times since they’ve been open. Each time has been such a memorable experience. Staff always goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome, at home, and catered to. The environment of PH (both indoor and outdoor) is immaculate. PH is curated with beautiful southern decor which makes you feel right at home in The Old Village. But I have to say, I experience just as good of hospitality at their Basic Kitchen location. Basic Projects seemingly always go the extra mile in training their staff to deliver the true southern experience. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough to anyone local or visiting Charleston.Nearby activities: Walking distance of Old VillageSafety: In safe Mt. Pleasant, Old Village neighborhood.Walkability: Walkable to Shem Creek.Food & drinks: Clean and upscale eats.Noteworthy details: Curated southern decor.“
“Big shoutout to the guys here we had so much fun they were so nice and created an amazing experience for us!! This is really excellent value because wine is included in the price of 70 USD for 5 courses!! The courses were good like home cooked meals that they prepare in front of you. Don’t expect fine dining because that’s not the purpose but just good dishes prepared by great people!“
“Dillan was an amazing waiter. He recommended the halibut entree and the Elvis dessert. We also ordered shrimp and grits and a side of squash. Everything was beyond our expectations. Honestly the best meal this trip. We’re staying at the Vendue as well. Honestly, the hotel (Allyson- curator) and the restaurant, AND the service ,AND the people , do not disappoint. And, and, and ,and, and….. go there an experience the Vendue!!!!“
“Our son's wedding rehearsal dinner at Red Drum was truly exceptional, and I can't praise it enough. Every aspect of the evening exceeded our expectations. The staff was not only professional but also warm and friendly, ensuring that every guest felt welcomed. The food was outstanding, receiving numerous compliments for both its variety and quality. The manager went above and beyond to accommodate our requests, making us feel at ease throughout the entire event. Words can't express how pleased we were with our experience. Red Drum has certainly won us over as lifelong patrons, and I'll confidently recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.Parking: Not a ton of parking at the restaurant, but plenty of on street parking in the surrounding neighborhood.“
“This place is a gem! Awesome local taproom. Great selection of beers - IPAs, stouts, sours, they have it all. The bartenders really know their stuff, and is a Bills fan, who helped me pick out some winners. The vibe is chill and friendly. Definitely a cool spot to kick off a night on King Street! ??“
“Jenna was our server when we stopped in to get a quick snack and she was so friendly and sweet. We had the beignets and they were amazing! We also got frosé to go which was really fun and kept us cool on the rest of our stroll through town.“
“Delightful crabhouse right by Market St. We were seated upstairs and loved the ambiance. Started with hush puppies, which are definitely a must! They come with honey butter. We also shared the shrimp with grits and cheese along with the shrimp po boy. Both dishes were terrific. Although, the po boy was a little small for the price.“
“Absolutely the best dining in Charleston! This is not just a meal, it is a full experience.Servers are so knowledgeable and the sommelier is extremely helpful in pairing cocktails and wine throughout the dinner. The food is decadent, so well thought out, and beautifully structured. My husband and I dined here on our honeymoon last October and I loved it so much that my girlfriend, who is having her bachelorette party in Charleston, and I are coming to town a day earlier than the rest of the group just so we can dine here!“
“I showed up at 7 minutes before closing time with a special needs adult and a toddler. Server Kelly looked at us as we poked our heads in, looked at the clock, and said "sure, come on in." She proceeded to serve us like we were VIP's and the best thing to happen to her all day. What's more, the food is awesome. Really good. Huge menu for a breakfast place. I'm a fan.“
“Great little place right over the bridge into Folly beach. Parking is fairly limited but we found a spot pretty quickly. The food was good and arrived pretty quickly and for lunch time on a gorgeous day the wait was about 30 minutes for 3 people.“
