Restaurantji's guide to Shelbyville's top Mexican dining experiences.
“We had a very large party. The service was fantastic. The waiter was so efficient and funny. He got every order correct . There was so much food! We shared a meal and still had food left. I would highly recommend this restaurant!Kid-friendliness: They brought the children sundaes “if they ate all their food” . They were huge and beautiful! Next time I will order one!!“
“The food was excellent. The ingredients were fresh and had large portions. The staff was friendly and we had fast service. Also, the restaurant was clean even at a busy dinner time rush. Forgot to take a picture of the dishes but suffice to say it was gone pretty quickly!! We will definitely visit again.“
“I've tried all the Mexican restaurants in Shelbyville and I don't think anything of them come close. Food comes out pretty dang quick and I'm never disappointed. I understand people have their own opinions, but this place is consistent.“
“I would eat here again. Staff is not super friendly, at all. Food was good (your typical Mexican restaurant in the south) menu has the same items nearly all Mex. Restaurants do, so nothing extra special about this place. It is in a strip mall, small interior but clean. It won't knock your socks off but you will like it and come back.“
“Wow! I have never been so satisfied eating Mexican food as I was with this place. First off, I stopped by as I was running late to church and grabbed some things for takeout. Food was ready in like 6 minutes! That was amazing for me since I was already running late. Then I open it up and find amazing sized portions and the best tasting carne asada taco I’ve ever had! The beans and rice were also perfect! Everything tasted fresh and authentic. Best hot sauce hands down that I’ve had. And you can trust me that I’ve ate some good ones because I’m from San Diego! I’ve been searching for great Mexican food and I found it! Also, you can’t beat a kids meal for $5.50! My kids were super happy with their taco and rice and beans. They also gave me chips and salsa to go which was just as good! I can’t wait to go back and dine and and try more!“
“Food is good but the service has always felt lacking. The staff is kind but they bring out plates of food as they are finished cooking instead of serving the whole table. Often someone is left waiting for their food to come while everyone else is eating. They have a habanero salsa (red salsa) that is very spicy and delicious! If you like spicy salsa I highly recommend.“
“The homemade tortillas were so delicious. It’s been a while since I’ve had authentic Mexican food.. moved from South TX- right outside of the border to TN about two years ago and this was my first time having Mexican food that made me feel like I was back in my hometown!“
“I highly recommend dinning here. Not only was the food absolutely amazing (that’s says a lot considering I’m Hispanic) but the service was very warm and welcoming. The atmosphere here is like coming over to a family members house for a family dinner. It was very welcoming and just overall felt like a home. The owners are such sweet kind people. They were not only cooking the food but also running around asking how everything was. You can tell enormous amounts of hard work, dedication and love has been poured into these walls. The food and the vibes are proof. Give it this place a try if you want to experience actual authentic home cooked meals! We were too excited when we got our food so the phone in fact, did NOT eat first.“
