“Southern Star has a larger restaurant in Chattanooga but the little store front on Signal Mountain packs a big punch. Great hot entrees differ daily and there is always a good choice of salads, sandwiches, and desserts. I only wish this wonderful place had a sit-down space.“
“Well unfortunately I went to this amazing place on a date she actually wanted to come here low and behold my date never showed terrible time for me so I stayed had diner alone had wings and couple of cold ones and started talking to a beautiful lady at bar she kind had same experience as me low and behold we have been on a few dates staff was absolutely amazing friendly we have been back a few times keep it up“

We have been so disappointed in many restaurants serving “cheap versions” of authentic food but the food here was original and well prepared. My trout was perfectly cooked, my husband’s chicken pharm sandwich was delicious and the cauliflower gratin was to die for! Definitely worth checking out.“

“The food and service was great. My daughter and I ordered flap jacks for the younger kid which came with bacon and eggs. The teens ordered waffles and bacon and potatoes. My daughter had steak eggs and potatoes. I had the chicken and waffles. Chicken was friend to perfection. “Love this place. The food is consistent every time and the service is friendly. My wife and I love the wings with the house sauce. I love the fried Buffalo chicken sandwich, it’s huge! The fried pickles are the bomb too! The beer is always cold and the prices are more than fair.Catch them on the weekdays around 2 pm to avoid the crowds and enjoy the outside patio.“
“OUTSTANDING!! This is must-try BBQ in Chattanooga. We’re visiting from Atlanta and chose Chatt Smoke House over a few other choices…best decision! Talk to James, the owner. He’s got great stories and his ribs and pork plates are fantastic. The beans, potato salad, Cole slaw and fried okra are some of the best I’ve ever eaten. Love it!!!“

“I took my girlfriend here on a date and didn't realize it was jazz night. It was nice to hear live music and didn't really mind. The food was amazing! We ate the salad, salmon, Burger, and carrot cake souffle. Everything was delicious! Our server was very kind and informed the kitchen on the dishes we were splitting and also boxed our leftovers for us. The kitchen may have been very busy because in total we were about a little over an hour and a half. I recommend eating here.“

“I'll keep this simple, as I just came in from the rain to have a glass of wine while it passes: do not get the rosé! Don't. It's... well it's a horrific acidic, bitter, cheap-tasting mess of a wine. “A fantastic and unique dining experience! You don't see German restaurants that often, so, especially considering the high food standards in Chattanooga, my wife and I had to try this one. I wound up having a sampling of much of their menu in their spätzle plate: two brats over spätzle, kraut, and potato cakes. It was delicious! My wife, who wasn't sure what to expect (having never eaten German food before) had their pimento cheese sandwich and was pleasantly surprised. Service was fast and friendly, and the restaurant was not too crowded or overwhelming (surprising, as it was a Friday night). Definitely give it a try if you're in Chattanooga and looking for something different.“
“The food was a “greasy spoon” kind, and PERFECT! The mushroom & Swiss burger was great, the tomato was ripe, and the fries were crispy. I ordered the fried pickle spears also and as a foodie - they hit my spot. My husband ordered the onion rings and the bacon cheeseburger. The onion rings were the battered type (my fav) instead of breaded. The waitress was very friendly, the restroom clean, and the old man sitting by the register was chatty. He engaged my husband in a good conversation. Overall, it was a splendid experience.Parking: It’s a favorite eating place for firefighters and their fire trucks were parked on the street. It was pretty tight in the parking lot.“
“I love it here! The food is so freaking good. Like top 10 places in chatt good. They have a basement which is more of a bar feel and can get crowded. They have outside patio seating which is nice and private and also seating upstairs. They serve a mean brunch so you have to go multiple times to get the full experience. If you are visiting Chatt you have to stop here.Vegetarian options: So amazing. This is a gem for vegetarians in the chatt area. Especially if you like spice and good cocktails.Parking: There are some free street parking spots on the street and paid parking on the street. We have never struggled to find parking so matter how busy the area is.“
“Discovered this gem today! Had the Blue Plate fried chicken meal. Breading on the chicken was tasty and the chicken was juicy. For sides we had black eyed pea salad, blt pasta salad, and potato salad. All of them were delicious. Took a piece of the Texas white cake to go. It was excellent too. Really unique concept with the Blue Plate special every day and all the takeaway meals. If we lived nearby, I would be stopping to pick up dinner on a regular basis. Great experience!“
