“The food was amazing. I got the pick 3 platter, and it was delicious. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to our requests. They gave great food suggestions with a premium smile and signature service. Thank you for an awesome experience.“
“Food/Taste/ - ordered a Cat Fish Dinner with brisket gumbo and cowboy mac & cheese with a full slab of ribs. The cat fish was recommended and fried superbly with a crispy outside and a moist inside. The lemon based rub added a tartness that went well with the tartar sauce. The mac & cheese was good but quite salty depending on the bite so it wasn't our favorite. The gumbo was very tomato based and quite yummy overall. The ribs were fall off the bone tender that you don't need a knife at all! Absolutely delicious with a touch of smokiness that goes so well with the BBQ sauce. - super friendly owners but it does depend on who you get. The gentleman was chatting with the other table and interacting with their children providing samples of drinks and sides for them to try. The lady was to the point and really quick on the service but think she was juggling the cooking as well. - scary looking place from the outside but cozy once you walk in. It was a tiny place with only 6 tables. And while it's worn, the tables are cleaned and wiped down (but the windowsills are quite dusty with dead flies). It can get quite smokey in the restaurant depending on what's being cookedValue for - delicious food at a reasonable price point. So happy we gave this place a try!“
“Absolutely incredible, we ordered ribs, sliced brisket, and pulled pork. We also orders the mac n cheese and cole slaw. I have had some incredible bbq in Texas and this is at the top with the rest of them. Support this local business if you are passing through.“
“Over 50 yrs in TX eating BBQ and I had to find the BEST I have ever eaten in Amarillo!! Must go!! Moist and tender and just the right amount of smoke.. actually doesn’t need sauce but that too is just as important.. do yourself a favour and eat till they run out of meat!! A yes from me!!“
“one of my favorite restaurants. to the people who say it tasted bad or they got sick... they must not know how to cook right. very nice and clean atmosphere. food always tastes fresh and flavorful. it does get a bit smoky and you should expect to smell of it when you leave since you cook it right infront of you. grills are always promptly replaced. most bad experiences people have are from their own faults. overall AMAZING restaurant with really delicious food.“
“This place is amazing!!! The food is great and sweet tea is always fresh!!! I haven’t had anything I didn’t like here. Smoked Turkey, brisket, sausage and Frito pie. Potato salad is amazing and always has desserts. Might not always have the protein you wanted at the moment ( after it sells out for the day I’m not sure if any more is ready till the next day) just means get there early. Amazing group of people that work there. Love Doug’s hickory pit!!!“
“Everything we got was delicious. The service was fast and even though it was busy, there was plenty of seating and we got a table in about 5 minutes. It was the best brisket we’ve had at a restaurant.Parking: Plenty of parking as it is in a medium sized mall style building. Wheelchair and accessible friendly.“
“The peach cobbler itself is absolutely one of the most fantastic desserts in all of Amarillo. Get you this peach cobbler as soon as you can it’s not too sweet not too bland. It’s perfect. In a world of nonsense this cobbler will make sense “
“The chicken fried steak was very tender and tasty, the coleslaw ? was very good, a little dark of course it is a bar, and a group was setting up for live music. Everyone should try it very good and say hi to Megan and Brianna ?Parking: Parking lot is fenced in around the building and curbside parking on route 66“
“e reserved our requested table and were seated quickly. Atmosphere is very romantic and reminds us of a small Italian village when we lived in Tuscany. Our waiter James provided us with excellent service. Our appetizers and main course were delicious. Portions were decent size for us to split. Presentation was good ?. Prices our slightly above average. Parking is free in lot in front but limited. There is a small covered patio area outside when weather permits. Although we like the Italian style interior. Definitely ? recommend.“
“I had the outlaw ribeye that is one big plate full about 1" thick & very juicy & the wife had chopped steak, going back every chance I get & thanks to Jay our waiter perfect service all ?up.Parking: We found some on the west side about 3 area's this was at 6:30 pm on Friday evening .Wheelchair accessibility: On the west side and front .“
“We originally discovered Rudy's BBQ when we lived in San Antonio, but we have been fans ever since. Each location we have been to, is laid out very similarly inside and a very casual dining experience. The best part is the delicious consistency of their food, no matter the location. It is one of our favorite go to BBQ places. Although the price may seem high for such a casual place, the food quality does justify it compared to any other BBQ place with similar offerings. We try to go here at least once every month or so, despite the number of places there are to enjoy here in Amarillo.“
“Had Wesley’s smoke my turkey for thanksgiving dinner and it was delicious. Definitely will be doing this every year from now on. I’ve always deep fried mine but wanted something different this year and I got exactly what I wanted. Thank you again Sara!“
“A great location with wonderful staff and delicious food!Vegetarian options: Menu has a few vegetarian salads.Dietary restrictions: Can customize your meal as needed.Parking: Enough spots, just a little bit of a walk sometimes.Kid-friendliness: There is a decent kid's menu.Wheelchair accessibility: Fully accessible location.“
“Excellent real Texas style barbecue. Locally owned. We ran into the owners old high school friend in line who gave us excellent recommendations, but it seemed like you couldn’t go wrong with anything. I had the pulled pork and my husband had the brisket. The jalapeño corn and coleslaw were perfection. Banana pudding and peach cobbler top tier. Would come again, but we are just passing through on a cross country trip. Per the locals, come early, because they stay open only til they sell out— usually happens before 6.“
