“I’ve been wanting to come to uchi for years, I finally made it in last night with some girlfriends. The food was phenomenal but what really made the night/ meal was our waitress Meg. She picked our menu for us and everything was 10/10. She made the experience at uchi so much better with how attentive and wonderful she is! Will Definintly only dine at uchi in the future if megs waiting on me again.“

“A++ experience. Every single bite was outstanding, but in particular the kanpachi and shima aji were all particularly delicious for me. The staff do a great job of giving each party a personalized experience while dining with the full group of 12.

What sets Craft apart from other omakase restaurants is not just the attention to detail of each dish, the elevated simplicity, or execution - it's the non-sushi dishes. On this occasion it was chawanmushi and shrimp aguachile with leche de tigre; in the summer, a beautifully composed compressed watermelon dish was memorable.

Come to Craft to celebrate a special occasion or just because you want an incredible meal you will never forget. They will surprise and delight you every time, and you won't regret it. The Michelin star is very well deserved.“

“Woooooww!! When I moved to Texas I thought I would be doomed in a sushi-less pit of despair where everything was tasteless. This place offers extremely fresh quality sushi that I am surprised to find this far inland. As someone who has lived on multiple coasts, of course this doesn't live up to the oceanside just-caught magnificence. However, they do the best they possibly can here! Thank you for being here“

“A wonderful success.
Every time we go, what happens is this:
We make our initial order. Halfway through eating it, we know we will want more, so we make a secondary order. Halfway through that one, we again realize we want just a last bit more of this or that (or anything at all, just MORE!) and so we put in our *third* order. That's how tasty (Word to the wise: don't sleep on the potato croquette, $2.75. Each diner needs their own, and I need two.).

One does grow tired of this surfeit of overly hip brick and mortars, every place trying to outdo the last in atmospheric proximity to a southern California hotspot. Chilly waiters, navel-gazing menus and stratospheric prices.

In contrast, Uroko is a simple walk up, but the food is as good as any of those places, and the atmosphere is nice enough for a casual date - without resorting to a dusty-dine at one of Austin's fecund food trailer parks. It is super fresh, super delicious, super affordable and accessible Japanese food. It's one of my top favorite places in town.

Vegetarian options: Potato croquettes, miso soup, chili garlic edamame, tofu salad, seaweed salad, cucumber salad, Veg Harumaki, avocado hand roll, pickle hand roll, flower & veg hand roll“

“Really creative way of combining Japanese/Korean cuisine with a western taste. The bento boxes are amazing. We tried both the sweet and savory sandwiches and they are all great.Note: It is important to arrive early. We arrived 10 min before it opened and there’s already a line. There are tables and chairs so you can dine in. They only allow certain number of people inside the shop at the same time, others would have to wait outside. Also, the popular items will be gone quickly. So make sure to arrive early.“

“An unforgettable dining experience. Chef Endo and his team provided the greatest omakase journey in Austin. Each new course complimented the previous and built a wonderful foundation of tastes from the Edo period coupled with flavorful cocktails using Japanese liquors. The chef and staff were great company, telling fun stories and laughing with all of us. I was beyond elated when he played guitar after the last course, even tremolo-picking the Happy Birthday song to my girlfriend and two others celebrating. If you love incredible gastronomic adventures and great company, you have to experience Endo.“
