My son came to meet up with some homeschool friends, and my family stayed and played games while he socialized. They also have some outdoor seating. They also have some walls that raise and lower, for the more temperate seasons. The man behind the bar gave some great recommendations and is clearly passionate about what he does.“
“Hidden little gem. Had the Carne asada tacos and flauta plate. Everything was super flavorful and they open late. The salsa bar was amazing. Everything was fresh, I was pleasantly suprised at the fresh ingredients! My only small complaint is I would have like my food to be alot more hot. It was slightly over room temperature. The cashier let us sample a couple of aguas until we found one we liked.“

“Love that West Oak is open until 9pm, it makes for a great place to study after dark that isn’t on campus. Besides that, their coffee is phenomenal! I wish they had a few more flavor options, specifically sugar free options, but they have plenty of sugar free sweeteners available to accommodate.The baristas are knowledgeable and very helpful. West Oak is a staple on the square and I highly recommend it for studying, a quick coffee break, or a gathering place for friends.“

“This restaurant is a hidden gem for anyone who lives west of I-35. My daughter and I both had the Filet Mignon and my husband had the Fish and Chips. Our appetizer was the tempura sampler and the caprese salad. Both excellent choices. The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxing. “Housed in a trailer, big things come in small packages at The Pickled Carrot. The Vietnamese food truck hasn't been on my wishlist long and I'm glad I didn't hesitate. A classic Vietnamese fare, I settled on the seasoned pork Banh-Mi, I could smell the savory pork when I walked up. The sandwich exceeded my expectations and didn't stick around long, I'm already looking forward to my next banh-mi ?“
“I have only been to Jack's Tavern twice, but will be coming back often. They host a dart tournament every Sunday at 5 which is why we were there. They have a great dart area if you like throwing darts and the drinks are super inexpensive. The bar is very clean. I would definitely come hang out here on a non tournament night. They have pool tables and plenty of room for larger crowds. They do not currently serve food, but check with them to see if they have started again before you head out. Or you can hit up the Fat Shack that is down the sidewalk and bring the food into the bar. Oh and Jake's has the BEST Dr. Pepper I have ever had in a bar or restaurant.“

“I have driven by this place dozens of times since moving to Denton and finally stopped in today. It has a serious, "Denton Vibe." It would be a great place to grab a drink - with perfect appetizers after work. The fish and chips were cooked perfectly and offered a jalapeño tartar sauce for a nice Texas touch. I will be back.“

“I went during the lunch hour 12:00 -1:00 PM. You can imagine it was busy. Like 10 persons deep in line busy. Only one guy behind the counter (ANDY) who took orders, made the drinks and was the cashier at the same time. HE DID GREAT considering that he was alone! This is the reason I am giving this a 5 Star Rating.This 5-Star rating is for ANDY.If there was a wait - everyone in line understands it is not his fault - someone else for sure, but not Andy's. Everyone can see how he was hustling behind the register and the counter.It would have been better if there are 2 workers at least.
