“We went to Yen to celebrate our grandson's 11th birthday. The family gathered around our own hibachi table. We started with soup and salad and then enjoyed the show put on by Chef Bobby as he prepared our dinners. The mixture of steak, chicken, shrimp, and scallops that we ate along with fried rice and grilled vegetables was delicious and perfectly cooked. Yen was a wonderful place for a family celebration; and we could talk to each other as we watched the chef who was very engaging, especially with the kids.Kid-friendliness: Awesome with the kids as they are cooking at the table.“
“An Asian-Latin fusion restaurant? Yeah, I definitely had to try out San Eatery, and I'm glad that I did. You order at the counter, and they give you a buzzer to let you know when your food will be ready, and I really like it when restaurants do this! Now here is what I got:♡ Ribs BBQ (Costillas). 9/10Wow, this was SO good. I was craving some Chinese BBQ, and this definitely satisfied my craving. Some of the pieces of meat were a little hard to chew, but I didn't mind because the sweet-savory sauce was very yummy, and there was a good amount of it. I had the ribs with the mofongo!♡ Mofongo. 6/10This is my first time trying Mofongo, and I have to say that this reminds me of mashed potatoes, but the texture is a little on the drier side. I think this is just OK, but I personally wouldn't get it again. Maybe fried rice would've been better with my bbq ribs.♡ Tostones con ajo. 7/10First time trying fried plantains, and wow, the garlic definitely elevated it. I'm assuming the sauce that came with it is spicy mayo, but I think it paired nicely with the tostones. I do wish the garlic was spread out more evenly between the tostones, but that's okay. It's still good!｡ ₊°༺❤︎༻°₊ ｡FINAL VERDICT:I'd definitely come here again. There are other things on the menu that I'd love to try, like the other platter options and fried rice. Also, the portion sizes are huge, which is good to stretch out for another day or two! It's probably best to not eat the food in one sitting anyways cos the food is a little heavy/rich.“
“We've been wondering about this restaurant and finally we're up for an adventure tonight. Nice folks, friendly service, Uber clean, background level live music that doesn't keep you from conversing. For the food, it was all well priced & large portions. We had: 2/5 spicy tuna roll - spiced well but really tasted & felt like it had been made way far in advance 4/5 chicken katsu bowl - great chicken, super crispy with steamed veg. Had I not had the sauces on the side I would not have been able to eat the dish 5/5 spicy chicken & cashew had a great taste, was hot & fresh but the chicken got soggy fast Overall a place we will visit again.“

“We finally found our Japanese spot in Houston! We went out for a casual Tuesday sushi dinner and ended up with an unexpected elevated dining experience. This place has a quaint charm to it that's deceiving because everything from the food to the service will blow you away. We enjoyed some nigiri, karaage, a la carte sushi, cold, and hot plates. “I was invited by my friends to attend a live concert, and try their specialty Teriyaki bowl! I can say with Great Confidence that their Teriyaki beef is on the top of the charts!!! Absolutely Hands Down the Very Best Beef Teriyaki I have ever consumed! The flavor is all in the beef and rice!!! I've tried many Asian restaurants, and I mean soo many across Houston and Dallas combined!!! “Their gimbap is amazing!!! but miso soup is very salty and little. It is an appetizer but serving it in a big bowl to give 1/4 content does not appear good to a customer. Waited for it for 10mins, followed up and that’s the only time the server started making the soup. I had high hopes for them because their gimbap is reaaaaally good only to be disappointed.“

“Pretty decent place for a local sushi/ asian fusion place where you can enjoy japanese/chinese/thai food at the place. The selection of dishes are available widely. I am hoping that that have enough ingredients for everything on the menu. Tonight they ran out of Hamachi Kama and Beef Negimaki. But we still enjoye the Shrimp Lomein a tad salty, awesome rock shrimp, the special rools are nice and taste fresh. Soft shell crab tempura is nice and crunchy served with mixed veggie tempura. We had the Rainbow roll and the age tofu and the sauce are decent. The salmon skin salad i can still taste the bitter part of the skin but the kani salad with apple is nice to have.“

“I love the sushi! They don't go heavy on the fillers (AKA- rice), portion sizes are very generous, low prices for what you get and the Tokyo Rose Martini is the bomb! I've tried many sushi restaurants in the area and this one is by far our favorite. Love how great they are with our son as well.
