“We heard this was the place to go for breakfast so we stopped on our way out if town. Atmosphere was quaint and friendly! I had the BLT which was as expected so I was happy. My husband, on the other hand, had the Smuggler and the hostess recommended the sausage gravy topping. He said the burrito was fabulous but ruined by the sausage gravy. If you are a sausage gravy fan, do not order this as you will be disappointed. He said the sausage in the gravy was so heavily coated with flour, you couldn't taste the sausage. Due to that, the gravy did not have that sausagy flavor you are looking for. My husband is a cook and true foodie, so I trust his review.“

“It was hot day on the island it was like being on a race track with no wind. I ate not one dessert but two. It was so refreshing and perfect for an afternoon snack . The staff were warm and welcoming. It was like when I was younger and we would go and have a blizzard with the kids. I will be back the next time I am in Galveston.“

“Always a favorite, but greatly disappointed today with the hostess today. We arrived 4 persons requesting a table of 6 for a birthday celebration. She refused to seat us till all guest arrived. As we complained she finally told us to go wait at a large table with barstools.A server approached us and told us that we needed to order if we sat in his section. All of our group work in the service industry and leave a hefty gratuity. The restaurant was half empty and could have easily accommodate a party of six with 2 people arriving 10 minutes later.“

“Fantastic eatery. The gluten free bread is wonderful. I wish there was a location in Houston. But this is now a must stop for our trips to Galveston. Not just for the bread, but the roasted red pepper spread and sauces and sandwich fixings. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal. They truly take serving those with dietary restrictions seriously and provide so many options. The staff is helpful, caring, and very nice.“

“Do you want to be to transported to little Italy after a long day trudging the sands? This is your place. We asked a local guide where the best place to get pizza on Galveston was and “Russo’s” was the immediate answer. We ordered the Halal Veggie Pepperoni that afternoon. We arrived a little early and the friendly staff told me it would be a few minutes. While I waited, I was tempted by the delicious array of Italian desserts so I decided to get tiramisu and chocolate cake as well. While I waited, I noticed how warm and inviting the ambience was. I regretted not making time to order and eat AT the restaurant because it seemed like it would be a cozy and fun experience. When we got back to the resort and tried the pizza, we were blown away. It was just so good. The pizza was cooked perfectly, the crust was delicious, the sauce, cheese, and toppings were all wonderful. The tiramisu was excellent. My biggest qualm is that Russos appears to be a Houston thing, so we won’t get to have any back home. Can’t wait to come back!“

“Favorite lunch spot in Galveston. Something for everyone without having too many options where the food quality declines. Everything I've eaten here is delicious. Thai noodles are a must try side, and I recommend a slice of lemonade cake while waiting for your meal to come out. You're welcome.“

“We sought out PattyCakes due to their positive reviews about gluten free (gf) menu options. This quaint little shop was a pleasant surprise upon entering. The seemingly all women team was cheerful, helpful, and delightful! The reviews were accurate. I asked first about their gf options and was offered at least a half dozen options. I settled on the buckeyes and petit fours. My gluten ingesting travel mates selected cinnamon roll cookies and the pecan cinnamon roll. The petit fours were my personal favorite, they were simply MARVELOUS! The cake was dense and moist and the frosting literally made me wish I had a whole cake! The buckeyes, the cinnamon roll and cookies also received honorable mention. All three were superb with a mug of black coffee! Do recommend that you heat the cinnamon roll if able prior to eating. Considering going back tomorrow for more petit fours!!“
