“Updating my review because we tried the sushi again it was REALLY good! They improved the size of their rolls and I enjoyed the innovative flavor of their Two Face Roll and size of fish in their Salmon Roll. We will be back! The kitchen orders were fantastic! Probably the best hot and sour soup I've had in the 10 yrs I've lived in Texas! We had shrimp tempura for an app and the breading was perfect! 5 stars for kitchen prepped food!“
“Very nice place in the mall where the rest of the food leaves to desire better. We tried their miso soup, which was different than what you would get at a typical chain place, sashimi, salmon roll and rainbow roll. All were excellent and far exceeded our expectations.“
“I first had the pleasure of trying this lovely restaurant via a pick up order, while it didn’t disappoint after the long ride home I knew I had to try this place again but as a sit it. Let me just say for the second time it did not disappoint food came out fast and hot, the sushi was prepared with such care and precision. While words can not do this place enough justice I will end with this just come in have a seat and fall in love the owner makes you feel like nothing but family. He wants you to feel overly happy and full, lost are the days of owners really caring about their customers but he truly does“
“We have really enjoyed this charming place since the day they opened. The decor is so pretty that I’m envious of their selections. It has taken a while for the popularity of this restaurant to catch on but it seems the word is out now. The menu items are interesting and fresh. Not run-of-the-mill sushi as is found elsewhere. Truly a dining delight. We’re very pleased to have them in Southlake Town Square and appreciate that they provide such a pretty and delicious offering.Keep up the great work!“
“Came here with my husband for dinner. Sat at the sushi bar and had an amazing experience all around. Great service, food was excellent (new favorite sushi in FM), and atmosphere was super relaxing and friendly. Highly recommend for a date night.“
“I ABSOLUTELY LOVE POKEWORKS.. EXCEPT THE MALE OWNER WILL NOT GIVE YOU YOUR FULL PORTIONS ON TOPPINGS SO PREPARE YOURSELF “FOE” THAT. THE WIFE WILL THOUGH! THEY HAVE A WORKER NAMED CALEB W. WHO IS EXTREMELY PERSONABLE AND LITERALLY MAKES IT WORTH DINING IN IF HES WORKING. HE ACTUALLY REMEMBERS THE REGULARS, AND TREATS THEM WITH SUCH KINDNESS HE SEEMS THRILLED YOU’RE THERE TO EAT (YOU WOULD THINK THIS WAS HIS STORE ON HOW WELL HE TREATS YOU AND HOW HAPPY HE ACTS TO SEE HIS CUSTOMERS). I HATE TO HAVE WRITE THIS BUT ITS VERY TRUE AND MANY OF US WHO EAT HERE ARE SUPER BUMMED WHEN THE MALE OWNER IS WORKING BECAUSE WE LITERALLY HAVE TO ASK HIM TO PUT MORE AND MORE OF OUR TOPPING ON DUE TO HIM TRYING TO GIVE YOU AS LITTLE AS POSSIBLE - AND WE/YOU AS THE CUSTOMER ARE PAYING FOR A FULL PORTION! IF YOU CAN SPEAK UP FOR YOURSELF YOU’LL BE FINE BUT ITS THE FACT YOU HAVE TO DO IT WITH EACH TOPPING WITH THIS GUY (I CONSIDER THAT AS RIPPING ME OFF IN MY OPINION and that’s something I’m not putting up with so I just ask for my full portion over and over and he does it.)Hope this helps …“
“This place is amazing!! The sushi is very fresh and tasty!! Server (Hany) and the sushi chef (Brandon) wow!!! Amazing chef, he make my wife and I some sushi off menu it was delicious. We will be back just for his sushi!!! I hope he never leave!! See you soon “
“My go-to sushi restaurant that my family and I have been going to for over 2 years! The gentleman who owns and runs it is the most welcoming and friendliest person we've met! We have become his regulars! His food is always fresh and oh so delicious!! You definitely get your monies worth! The sushi rolls are always big, mouthful bites. The restaurant is always clean and provides restrooms. Our favorite sushi rolls are Alaskan Roll, Read River, Hot Mama & King Kong!Parking: Sushi Go is next to a pizza restaurant Te Amo and a Tae Kwon Do.“
“I live in Seguin, but everytime I find myself in Dallas I go to Mr.Max. It is my favorite Japanese spot by far. I have lived in Seattle and Los Angeles and Mr. Max is the best to me outside of Japan! I haven't been to Dallas in a couple of years and I am missing it! Thank you for always providing delicious food! ♡“
“UPDATES: Come back a few times. Their service improved a lot. The food are great. Tbh, it is better than most of AYCE sushi in Dallas area. Will come back more often. This place is AYCE but what I got was waiting!!! IT IS NOT WORTH IT!!! IF YOU ARE WILLING TO WAIT FOR AT LEAST 20 MINS AND GET 3 PIECE OF SALMON. THIS PLACE IS FOR YOU! Not sure why it got so many 5 star reviews, but it was the worst experience for us.We (3 people) came in at 6.30 on Sunday night. We waited for 15 mins to sit in a table which is understandable. Then we waited for another 15 mins before someone finally showed up. It is AYCE sashimi buffet so you are allowed to order 5 dishes at a time. We ordered 1 appertizer (fried oyster), 1 roll and 3 sashimi dishes. Waited 10 mins for 3 pieces of fried oyster. After waiting more than 20 mins, we had to speak up and talked to the manager. They explained sashimi and sushi are made fresh per order. Then they brought to the table 3 pieces of salmon. So literally we waited for more than 30 mins since we ordered to get 3 pieces of fried oyster and sashimi!!!! (If we dont complain, possibly the wait will be longer). No one visit or check our status during the time. This is supposed to be AYCE!!! At this speed, we will have to wait all night to get what we want. I understand becoz of Covid then buffet has to change a bit but this is how they limit you to order!!! Got so frustrated so we decided to leave. Be prepare to wait or just go somewhere else!!!“
“Its not for me. We’re going through and trying out the sushi in this area. Im extremely particular about my sushi. I got the dragon roll and it was over filled with imitation crab, a pinprick of avocado but a good amount of yellowtail topper. Terrible execution. Cucumber salad was also disappointing. Tasted and looked old and leftover. Overall, I may try this once more as it was def better than Oishii but so far, only Hatsuyuki and Nikko have been able to compete with my rankings while searching this side of the airport. Im desperate to find some more that reach my expectations!!!“
“I've only done takeout here, but for the few seconds I've interacted with the employees, they have been insanely nice! The portions are pretty large considering I make an online order and everything is so tasty! The place looks like your standard quick dining place. I definitely want to try eating here one day!“
“Their food is high-quality with so many selections. The wait staff are very attentive and engaging. We crave their food offerings weekly because they have something for everyone. Their sushi is to die for! Always fresh. Hopefully, Tokyo Sushi will become your favorite Asian food stop-dine in or carry out.“
“The food is always great. The pho is one of the best in the area and they have a large variety of dishes. Their fried rice is on point and the portions are plentiful enough to take home, if not u will be in a food coma. Great service and plenty of seating. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed.“
“Some of the best Sushi I’ve ever had and I wish that was an exaggeration. I’m very surprised their business was empty other the party of 2 that included me. Although I saw multiple people come in for pick up orders still surprised the traffic was light for how good this place is. If I can give them 10 stars over 5 I would. Highly recommend this place.“
“We take our two grandchildren to Little Katana once a month. They love sushi and chicken tenders and can get both at Little Katana. Their Rainbow and California rolls are excellent! Our waitress was amazing! It’s a little pricey, but for the quality and atmosphere, it’s worth it.See you next month!“
“We LOVE this place! Great sushi at a great price! Our daughter discovered Nori through DoorDash and ordered regularly.because one roll and fried rice could consistently last her 3 meals. She then asked us to take her on her birthday. My wife, who loves sushi, saw the lower prices and assumed the rolls must be small. She in turned ordered seeming 3 of every roll on the menu. The waitress' eyes got HUGE when she saw the order and said "that's WAY TOO MUCH!" We all laughed and she had my wife reduce the order to 1 roll each and even complete remove some rolls. When the rolls, sushimi, sushi arrived, we were like OMG what did we do??? It was SO MUCH! These are NOT small rolls. The table looked like a floating city (as they put the rolls in these 2 feet by 10 inch boats) of colorful art. It was beautiful, but overwhelmingly intense volume. We felt like if we really pushed ourselves we could mostly wipe it out. We may be hurting a little, but we wouldn't look like babies nibbling on our food and so we went to town. We enjoyed every bite of every piece and quickly put a sizable dent in the order. We were feeling proud and full and accomplished. That's when the remaining boats showed up... We cried uncle and threw our hands up in defeat. There was an entire additional boat we didn't touch. SO MUCH FOOD! We still laugh at that wonderful experience and we still don't let my wife forget. It's still funny and made for a great memory.“
“**Japan House: A Culinary Gem Near DFW**Located conveniently near DFW along the bustling 635 highway, Japan House is a haven for those seeking an authentic Japanese dining experience. The moment you step inside, you're transported to a world of culinary delight, where traditional aesthetics meet modern elegance. My recent visit was highlighted by the All-You-Can-Eat (AYCE) option, a showcase of the restaurant's commitment to quality and variety. The array of dishes was a testament to the skill of the chefs, each dish crafted with precision and care. The sushi rolls were particularly memorable, with their fresh ingredients and expertly balanced flavors. The service at Japan House was exemplary, with my server Ian standing out for his knowledge and patience. His recommendations guided me through the menu, ensuring that my meal was not just delicious but also a truly enjoyable experience. In summary, Japan House is a must-visit destination for anyone near the DFW area looking to indulge in the authentic flavors of Japan. The combination of exquisite food and impeccable service makes it a standout choice for a memorable dining experience.“
“I was there on a Saturday afternoon with a diverse group of people celebrating birthdays. The staff attended us fairly well, but not with warmth. I had the brunch fried oyster omelet with arugula salad. Both were excellent! The oysters were fresh and very lightly battered and the combination very tasty. The view near the canal is outstanding! I hope to return to try the cioppino someday.“
“Great food and excellent service. I ordered online for pick up and accidentally selected the Southlake location, meaning to choose Coppell. I noticed it immediately and called Southlake to explain, the urged me not to worry, they would call and put the order in and I can go pick up at Coppell. Thank you for going above and beyond!“
“We come here for the sushi. It's our favorite place to go when we're in the mood for it. We often get the spicy salmon roll, the pacific roll, the avocado roll, and the calamari roll. My husband also enjoys the gyoza and orange chicken from time to time. The atmosphere is nice and they're always welcoming. The manager, June, always greets us with a smile and checks in on our family.“
“Would definitely return. The food was great quality. Service was phenomenal. We had the table service. We'll have to go back for the hibachi experience. They don't have a happy hour at this location; which is disappointing because other locations offer happy hour.“
“My husband and I went here for the first time for dinner and we were impressed from the moment we walked in. We had actually intended to eat at another sushi place but they didn't have a table so we went here instead and wow I'm glad we did! The atmosphere of this place is beautiful with it's lighting and calming color palette/decor. We were seated immediately and even though they were busy, it didn't feel super crowded or loud. We sat at a very small booth table despite being offered a table instead (we opted for the little table because there was only 2 of us and we didn't want to take away a larger table in case a larger party came in and needed one) but it still had room for what we ordered and was comfy. Bathrooms are clean and have multiple stalls plus baby changing stations and the tables are cleaned quickly after diners leave to make way for new guests. The service was polite, fast, and informative making ordering super easy, especially since we were first time diners. The Stacey's Mom roll was AMAZING, the egg rolls were crispy and flavorful, but the entrees stole the night. My husband got the combo meal with shrimp, chicken, beef, noodles, and veggies and I got the shaken beef (I believe this is the name). Both were delicious! Beef melts in your mouth and the flavors dance on your tongue. Portion sizing was good for the price, for example mine was ~$16.50 and was filled with the perfect amount of meat and rice to justify the price. Drinks are prepared at the bar and brought to table, I enjoyed the mocktail blueberry even though I don't usually enjoy sour/tart, but it made it almost taste like I was still drinking alcohol which was kind of fun. My husband wasn't too happy with his long island but honestly he's a bit picky about how he likes them so I don't think he's the fairest judge for those who aren't as picky. Overall we loved this place and plan on returning here for many more meals!“
“Food is great and more importantly fresh. My partner and I have been happy customers for the past three years. I've always came here when I like Sushi bc of the food quality and ambience. Sometimes you need to park a little far bc its free so who cares.“
“This place is delicious with great service. There's plenty of options for my husband and I to choose from. We always enjoy of ourselves when we go. It is more on the pricey side but so far when we have gone it's been worth it. Definitely worth a try.“
“it's good. They're great for a quick take out option at a reasonable price for a decent amount of food. Friendly staff as well. It's not the best sushi ever, but it's competent. Not my go to normally but if I'm comin home from a long day out you bet I'll be swinging by here.“
“Amazing sushi. Sizeable chunks of fresh fish. You might skip the soy sauce and wasabi because the sushi is so flavorful. It's hard to find a spot but the lady who runs things is very attentive. The Korean side bowls are a unique touch.“
“This is one of my favorite local Japanese places in Roanoke. Their prices are more than reasonable, which is a big deal for me, and their food is delicious! Everything tastes authentic and fresh, and they always provide excellent service. Everything we have had here tastes wonderful. Thank you for such a great spot. We love Fish and Knife.“
“Mom n pop with high end mix.Cozy size restaurant great for dining solo or with friends, with very nice decor. Their non-sushi food, like their bento box, are on the lighter side of taste but served with very good portions. Their sushi is superb! I had their lobster tower for the first time and it was instant addiction. I failed to take its picture but that will just give me an excuse to go back. I highly recommend!“
“We moved to Southlake two years ago and tried so many sushi places before landing on Ra. It is by far my wife’s and my favorite sushi place in town. We’ve now come back multiple times. Most recently we had Lauren as our server. She was super friendly and helpful. Overall experience is always great.“
“A great little place, run by very friendly people, making really good food. The all you could eat options were fantastic and we all enjoyed ourselves immensely. Would return over and over. A great value.Parking: Easy access from general parking lot.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access from general parking lot.“
“I love this place and I will keep coming back! I always love to get the special with ramen and sushi! I forgot to take pictures of the sushi but it is always so fresh and delicious! They also have broccoli that you can get as an appetizer and it is so yummy and crunchy. My whole group loved it.This place is pretty small and seating is limited. Prices are pretty good and everything we’ve had there has been yummy!“
“My wife had gotten an ad for Sushi Sam on her social media, and went to check out where they were. We had driven past them a number of times heading to the Southlake town center, and usually they are on the other side of 1709 from where we are coming to head to what we are going to do that we hadn't really considered them before checking out their menu. Service was outstanding, it did feel like they were overstaffed for the amount of customers they had. We decided to go heavy on veggie rolls due to the number of different options they had compared to our normal places. While it was all good, the only thing that stood out was our one meat option that we got for our 8 year old ... a chicken teriyaki roll (cooked.) Prices are a little on the higher side as well when we compare rolls that we can compare to other places we do go to. (I'll give them credit on that, they are in Southlake.) We will likely return at least a couple more times, especially with our 16 year old in tow with us to try that teriyaki roll, and to try items we didn't get a chance to try this time around. Though, they may not be our regular spot for our regular rolls.“
“Here’s the deal: no matter where you sit, no matter if you only eat sushi, you’ll smell like Hibachi the rest of the day. Clothes go straight into the washing machine. I wouldn’t start my date night here, but otherwise Asahi is a great choice if your next stop is home (or for pick-up and take-out). Food is solid. Employees always polite and attentive.“
“The Las Vegas Roll was BANGGIN!!!!! I loved it. I ordered on my lunch break which is less than 30 minutes, by the time I arrived it was ready for pick up and I was back in the office with a few minutes to spare. I had everything in my bag including extra napkins. I really appreciate when businesses make it a priority to ensure that not only the food is good but that the customer has everything needed in the Togo bag so have a good experience. I'll definitely be ordering from this place again. It was also clean and there was plenary of seating.“
“Best sushi I’ve had outside of a major city. They source well and use some of the same suppliers as Uchi. The range of fish and flavor is awesome. Definitely recommend flounder and amberjack. You don’t see them on every menu and they are yum!“
“Nice ambiance for a 'strip mall' place. Food, service, prices and cleanliness are all very good. Bent Box prices at lunchtime are a bargain. Great Tempura, 'real' (not pre-cooked) rice, the Sushi and Sashimi are extraordinary. They serve a small salad, as well as Miso soup, with the Bento Box lunch - a nice touch.“
“I went there for the first time today and was quite impressed with this place. The ambient they have is amazing. Talking about the food I ordered, here is the picture of it and basically what I ordered. I love how you can choose your own bowl withalmost everything you desire. Great place. I would definitely visit again.“
“The 6 course dinner was the best decision I’ve ever made. I went with a food connoisseur and they similarly agreed that the quality, presentation and overall taste is Michelin level. We were treated to some of the best service, atmosphere and attention to detail we both have ever had. This is a five star experience and Chef Sara is a master of her craft. Everything was hand selected and crafted by her expertise and we are so grateful. If you have anyone you need to impress, this hidden gem will earn you praise I assure you. Please take my heartfelt recommendation that I don’t think I’ll ever have a better meal in my life. She also has a coffee and pastry shop that is worth every penny. Great job and please continue the art of fine food! Thank you.Vegetarian options: Chef Sara is a master of her craft and I anticipate she could handle any vegetarian request.Dietary restrictions: They accommodated my friends crab, cherry and almond allergy perfectly well.Parking: Great parkingKid-friendliness: Adorable cartoon/anime movies and shows are shown on TVs. Atmosphere is very kid friendly.Wheelchair accessibility: My mother was disabled and I would have had no issue in taking her here.“
“This is by far the best sushi restaurant I have ever been to. The staff is always attentive and the owner is the hardest working person you will ever meet. I have brought guest with me from many parts of the world and they have all said that this place is amazing.“
“Not too bad. Ikura was fresh, which is an important sign, as it goes bad easily. Hamachi was good. Nori was a little stale, ginger pickle was a little too spicy, and salad dressing wasn’t typical (and not quite as good as the usual Japanese dressing). The California roll wasn’t the usual either. I’m guessing the restaurant is not Japanese owned. But, overall, ok. Certainly not the best you can get. Good value, because it was on sale. Too expensive at list prices online.“
“I've been to a lot of sushi/ hibachi grill restaurants. I have been going to lava grill for about 18 years now. They have hands down the best fried rice and the best employees.Kid-friendliness: They have a choice on the menu for children and they have high chairs.Wheelchair accessibility: The handicap parking and ramp is right in front of the restaurant.“
“I was blown away by how delicious this sushi was, even being in the middle of the state. Prices were reasonable, rolls were a decent size, and it was so yummy!! Even their simple Cali roll was phenomenal. Can’t wait to come back and try more from their menu.“
“We’ve driven by this place a million times and finally stopped in for dinner tonight. All I can say is WOW. The food was delicious, our chef was hilarious, and everyone working there was so friendly! It’s a wonderful atmosphere that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy. We will be back!“
“We've been coming to Blue Ocean for 20 years, and it remains outstanding. Best sushi anywhere. Pictured are the Blue Ocean Roll and Kim's Roll. Both so good. Also try the Tuna Tower and Mussels Dynomite. The service (Kim) is always excellent. The drinks are also great.“
“This is the best place ever. The price is so cheap compared to everything you can get. Food comes fresh and they have fruit punch my favorite. So many options to choose from. I love their nigiri and gyoza and short ribs. And they have very good green tea ice cream. You won't find another place this cheap for the amount of sushi they offer.“
“We just moved into Hebron 121 Station here in Lewisville. Hungry sushi lovers at the apartment, bored.. so we decided to go find a good spot. This one was 4 minutes away, only ones there at the time (it was between lunch and dinner rush) atmosphere was cozy, food was actually incredible and the service was perfect.. better than you’d expect. Highly highly recommend this place.“
“Everything we had was wonderful. They were very accommodating with gluten free requests and even had gluten free tempura. I got to enjoy a roll with shrimp tempura, which never happens. The orange chicken was also amazing with a generous serving of chicken and great flavor. Will definitely be back! One of the best restaurants we have been to in a long time.Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating with gluten free requests. Had many items available as gluten free that you can’t get elsewhere, like tempura. Our waitress was also very knowledgeable on the menu, what could be gluten free, what couldn’t and why.“
“My family has spent the last few years looking for what we believe to be the best sushi near us. We all love Cowtown Sushi because of the consistency and quality of their menu. The staff is always friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. It's nice enough for a date, but not overly stuffy. The pride in the craft is apparent not only in the taste, but also in the presentation, especially the Mt Fuji roll that has become a must have on the list of rolls we order during a visit. If I had to point out a flaw, it would only be the halogen track lighting, while mostly well controlled and balanced so you can see your food and dining companions a handful of seat positions in the restaurant get the spotlight effect and it can be straining on your eyes.“
“Holy moly! I was traveling and picked this place at random because the name was hilarious. Well, here’s a fun fact - Oishii means delicious in Japanese and that doesn’t even come close to the cuisine. The place was lit on a Friday night and the chefs were fastidiously crafting the sushi rolls at the bar. This joint has it all - sushi, poke, pho, Chinese and Vietnamese and a stellar wine list/cocktails to boot. The pan seared dumplings were delicate and savory. The Buddha veggies with fried tofu and vermicelli noodles melted in my mouth. Are you salivating yet? Hold your saliva because the Himalayan roll was the main event. This beauty was too pretty to eat and was served on an ice cold pink Himalayan salt block big enough for playing frisbee, except that it was square. Who am I kidding? Pretty or not, this roll slid down like an oyster on a hot summer day. In all fairness, the Main Street roll was a close contender, with that spicy little kick at the end. Date night ambience-check. Huge menu-check. Excellent service - check. Casual night with your friends - check.Vegetarian options: Lots of different options“
