Moved recently into the area and been searching for a spot AND this is it! This is a hidden gem. Pastries so fresh... you can taste the butter. Prices are very reasonable and the staff very friendly. Well definitely be my go-to spot.
Born and raised in Houston and have always loved Shipleys. I went to one about a week ago, got 2 donuts and 1 kolache, just sausage and cheese. Cheese was runny, poor quality sausage and stale bread. Didn't finish it. They've gone down hill unfortunately. I was kinda heartbroken lol.On the opposite end of the spectrum you have Queen Donut. I live very close and have been numerous times. I tried Queen Donuts for my first time. We went early Sunday. The display case was full and there were plenty of smiling servers. The spicy boudin was very tasty. Cinnamon rolls were fresh from the oven and about as tasty as can be. Mrs Donuts on Memorial is the best in town that I have found, and Queen may tie them for the top spot - I will need to return a few more times to decide!
