“I grew up in this area and since I was a little girl this has been my go to Thai place. I’ve traveled from San Francisco to New York but nowhere and nothing has ever beaten this place. In terms of price, spice, serving size and authentic flavors. The original owners from the 70s still run, work and cook at the place and its shows. If you’re looking for a high end, fusion or first generation Thai place go downtown. If you want a place you can see a Thai grandma crack open a fresh can of thai labeled condensed milk to make your fresh to order Thai tea, come here. But will say it is best to call in for take out an order if you’re not okay with plastic cover table and questionable cleaning (for foodies who know the golden rules of eating internationally foods you’ll be fine). Make sure to leave a good tip, this is an actual mom and pop restaurant that still run by a real mom and pop and be respectful they are community elders here.My favorites have been the pad thai (ask for extra lime), garlic or spicy whole fish (it’s a whole fish which can feed a family of 4), and eggplant with garlic sauce.Vegetarian options: Great eggplants“

Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply craving a memorable meal, Lao’d District Restaurant delivers an unparalleled combination of good food, inviting ambiance, and top-notch service.I highly recommend you give it a try and experience for yourself! I will definitely be back the next time I come to town!“
“The food was fresh and hot plus the service was excellent too. This will be our togo Thai restaurant moving forward. Don't miss their delicious Cream Brulee!Vegetarian options: There are plenty of vegetarian options available. Usually we dont see veg options in the appetizers and soups section but they have it all here.“
“Ever since this place took over for new management, it is so much better. I ain’t here over a decade before and it was very bland. I got to meet the owner Johnny and he was super sweet and only that the food was delicious. You have to try the Pad Thai noodles and chicken egg rolls“
“Love the laid back atmosphere! But it's always top notch service when you have Jon or Katie as your bartender! They are with it and will remember you the next time you come in. Tanner is great too when he is there! Jon and Katie have our ❤️!“
“I came to Cafe Kottu with some friends for a birthday dinner. It was on a weekday. There weren't many customers. It took a while for food to arrive. I think they were short staffed. I didn't have time to stay to enjoy the restaurant. I had to go back to work. Maybe next time when I am in the area to try other dishes.“
“I went for a long swim and decided I need some Thai. We ordered Tom Yum Gai, spring rolls, and Pad See Ew. The Pad See Ew was delicious, very flavorful and full of pepper. The spring rolls were on point! Lastly, the Tom Yum Gai was very hot and the ginger really stood out. The service was great, and it had a cute atmosphere! I am picky about but I would say this is the best Thai on this side of Houston.“
“Saw this on Instagram and went with family to check it out. Incredible ambiance and display of food. The food tastes great (nothing to die for) but we loved the presentation of the dishes, deserts and cocktails. It was nice that they had small boards for special occassion writings. Highly recommended to try at least once!“
“Always heard of this restaurant but never been. I've been to Thailand and I'm not sure they serve 100% authentic dishes here.I wanted something light and on the healthier side. Ordered the crispy duck salad and it was pretty good. Rating: 4.5/5My friend liked the entree and dessert she ordered.Service was very good. Our waiter checked on us multiple times. She was polite, warm, and professional. The atmosphere is nice. Uniquely decorated with a upscale vibe. There's also a bar with seating and outdoor seating.I'll have to come back and try more dishes.Parking: You might have difficulty finding free parking on a Saturday afternoon where there are no signs. But there's valet parking for $8“
“First time here - ordered spring rolls for our appetizer, green curry, cashew nut with shrimp and the pad se ew noddles. The spring rolls order only comes with 4 but worth it. The food was tasteful overall but I found the green curry to be a little too thin for my preference. Food was fresh and service was fast. My family and I would come back again and try other dishes.“
“I came here because the Turkey Leg Hut food truck is here. The DJ is jamming and I'm having the best lemon drop drink made by Anna the bartender. The inside is beautiful with lots of tvs to watch your favorite sport. Thanks Anna for the great customer service. This will be my new spot.“
“The food is good. Waiting time is about 10 minutes for 3 dishes. It's acceptable. I don't like the table and chairs there. They're so close to each other. The space shares the common ground of the Hong Kong market. It prevents your privacy. The food is contained in boxes except the soups. I think I will not come back unless I need convenience when I am shopping in the Hong Kong market. The price is a little bit high in comparison with the service I received, but it's acceptable. You should come and try once.“
“very nice atmosphere and cozy place. The service is amazing! When I walked in I was greeted by Nory and impressed with her service and attention to details. She answered all questions about the menu and recommended some great dishes such as Happy Family, Viet Sping Rolls and Tiger Cried. The food was exceptional as well. Will definitely come back in the future!“
“We really liked it. Food came out fast and hot. Samosas were good, they have a good happy hour special on most of their appetizers from what I saw. Almost got some free sake ;) our waitress was really cool. I would say we took home a meal worth of leftovers each.“
“Very happy found a good Thai spot in Houston. Ik not a big fan of fish sauce and this place is perfect as they do not add it to most options. Everything was perfect, food service and atmosphere. Thank you.Vegetarian options: They do not add fish sauce if you request and it works out perfectly for vegetarians. Must try Thai food place in Houston.“
“There's always bn seating when I come here and the food is Lovely. My favs are Pork/Chicken Krapraw, Por Pai (pork ans shrimp egg rolls) and Wings Zab (medium spicy). Down fall is the language barrier. I become frustrated to order ? esp. over the phone or when "hangry". I get over it when the food arrives! “
“We ordered several different dishes to share and everything was delicious! The portions were huge and priced very reasonable. The owner and staff were super friendly and very attentive. Honestly Naha-Thai was one of the very best restaurant experiences I have ever had! I will absolutely be back!“
“Ive been here several times for lunch but I’m just getting around to reviewing it. I like Thai Square. The quality of the food is very consistent and flavorful. I have had several dishes here over my several visits. I’m a spicy guy, so everything I get at any That restaurant is going to be max heat. With that being said, I haven’t had anything here that was unbearable but some dishes have been very spicy. My last visit , I had the Pumpkin Curry with shrimp. It was very good and full of flavor. I really enjoyed it.The service is very straightforward. One thing I try to do at restaurants when I go is ask for recommended dishes, even if I’m very familiar with the cuisine. This is one constructive criticism I have for the staff here. I’ve asked and was just told, order whatever I like. While, I am very familiar with Thai food and what I like, a person new to the cuisine or restaurant may not have the confidence to just choose what they like or may not even know what they like. While this is not a huge deal, it is an area for improvement that I saw. In contrast with some other Thai establishments in the area that have been more customer focused when it comes to inquiries about the menu. The ambiance is casual and relaxed. I have never had to wait long for my food and I will continue to return in the future.“
“This is the place to go to for Thai food in Energy Corridor. Love that this place closes late! Very authentic... they don't skimp on the Thai chili peppers here. I loved the grilled sausage. Smoky, spicy and delicious. Pairs well with the peanuts, ginger, and Thai chilis... all of my favorite toppings. We ordered sticky rice to eat with the sausage and it was a great combo. I always judge a Thai restaurant by how good their som tum is and theirs didn't disappoint! There was a good amount of shredded papaya, and the sauce was spicy and tangy! Loved the tomatoes and cabbage as well. Pad see ew was solid. I tried golden pampano for the first time and it was so good. Crispy but not too greasy. Plenty of fish meat so we weren't just getting bones. The seafood sauce was new to me but I loved it with the fish! Servers here are great. Cute decor inside and out. So happy to have a great Thai restaurant close to my area.“
“Legitimate Thai cuisine with authentic flavor, heat and huge portions. I think Tom Yum is one of the best tests of a Thai restaurant. The broth and balance of galangal and spices was one of the best I’ve had in North America. Also had the Pad Thai which was very good on the flavor with a huge amount of chicken. The presentation in the delicate egg omelet was surprisingly artful!“
“This is impressed!!! My first trip to Houston and tried many of Thai restaurants. I own Thai restaurant I could say this is real authentic taste of Thai. You would feel you’re sitting and eat in Thailand it’s exactly just liked that! If you want real authentic Thai food you need to come to this place.“
“Halal or not, the food here is simply amazing. So far, I tried their roti, Tom yum soup, pad Thai, fried rice, and various curry dishes - everything was amazing and the portions were satisfying. The Tom Yum soup here is superb. I would rate it in my top three for sure. I tend to select a spice level too high for me and regret it in the end, so beware and learn from my mistake! Level 3 out of 5 is perfection. The service during our last visit was outstanding. We celebrated a birthday here and our waiter was very accommodating and nice. Service makes a huge difference in overall experience. Interior is ok. Lots of cultural decorations and murals. Lots of natural lighting. No major wow factor but it's all about the food and service. They have specials on certain days of the week (I think either tTuesday or Thursday), so if you want a deal, something to consider.“
