“P.F. Chang has long been a guilty pleasure, and I have dined with them in many locations across the US. They are the rare exception to my rule against chain eateries, but, sometimes those chains get it right. And P.F. Chang is one of those few.So when I found myself recently in Lubbock and pondering where to eat lunch, I simply could not get excited about anything other than Chang’s, which I can’t get in Amarillo. Heck, we even saw fit to send their downscale Pei Wei packing a few years ago. But I digress.I arrived not long after the 11am opening when there were only a handful of people there, and took my place at the bar where I could have not only a great view, but also easier access to waitstaff should I need anything. Dining alone makes sitting at the bar a great option.I started with a Lagunitas IPA, a very good old friend from the craft beer community. I followed with the Chili Garlic Green Beans as my app. These have long been a fave, and they did not disappoint. There’s just enough heat to activate the sinuses, always a desired state if you like heat. They were cooked to perfection.For my main I went with the Ma Po Tofu, which features crispy tofu, sweet-spicy red chili sauce, and steamed broccoli. Once again, it was spot on and absolutely perfect, as it should be regardless of whether you’re a chain. And at 490 calories for the main and 260 calories for the app, this was a bargain as far as diets are concerned. Never mind that I couldn’t eat but half of it, and toted the rest home for dinner.It was all good, and I re-created the green beans at home later in the week, a pleasant reminder of another excellent meal at a most excellent restaurant.Vegetarian options: There are numerous vegetarian and vegan options. You won’t go hungry here!“
“Bea and her team have cultivated such a wonderful atmosphere at Brulee! It has quickly become one of my favorite local spots. Their treats are delicious, and the staff is warm and friendly. They switch up menu items every once in a while so there’s always a chance to try something new! Highly recommend this sweet Lubbock gem!“
“We are from Dallas but needed a baby shower cake in Lubbock! We were super nervous because we were asking a lot and didn’t really know who to use. Simply Decadent did not disappoint and in fact blew us away with how beautiful the cake was. We buy cakes all the time for various occasions and this one takes the cake! “Wonderful people, kind and understanding. We were slightly late, but they accommodated us in a nice and welcoming way. We had 6 and we were in a room with 6 other people. So, the noise level was very high for awhile. We were the last group to leave, but we never felt rushed and our service was excellent. The food was great, not a large menu, but all well prepared and very satisfying. Margaritas are great, but some of the other mixed drinks are a little stout!! Next time we will try the interesting wine list. Recommend the pork chop and the elk.“

“I love this location. They are always so attentive to the customers to make sure they are pleased . Ashley , Gaby and Will were the best tonight. Will cooked up some good food . My Husband had the fish for the first time and it was delicious. Ashley was super sweet , they had crafts kits for my daughter to do. Gaby was very helpful with the request I had for items . It's nice to see a establishment caring for their customers and taking the extra effort to walk around and conversate with the customers to make sure everything is to their liking . Definitely a location to continue to come to .“
“After seeing all the bad reviews I had to give a tut to the Cakery Lubbock for the wonderful cake they made for my son. I called about a week in advance thinking they may not have enough time to make an allergen-free cake for my son. I was so happy when they said it would be no problem. Gave my details and made the pickup for a day ahead in case any issues happen. Mind you this is the only bakery I could find that would make an egg/nut-free cake for my son's birthday party. I went to Market Place, HEB, and Walmart, no one had a clue how to make an egg-free cake. I looked online and found the Cakery in Lubbock. She did tell me she would need two weeks out for a specialty cake when I tried to order for another occasion. I needed the cake the next day. However, my wife decided to throw a birthday party for my son and we had to make invitations, so I was in luck and they did it within a week. Cannot be more happy with the cake. When I showed up the cake was not ready, she explained that the cake is too wet, we had major rain overnight and humidity was very high. So I understood. I came back about an hour later, she asked for thirty minutes and I was early anyway, so I got some last-minute shopping done. Now the important part, the cake was so moist. Even after keeping it overnight in the refrigerator. OMG, the best vegan cake I have ever eaten. Everyone at the party finished their slices which is unusual for a birthday cake in my experience. Usually way too sweet. The cake was perfectly balanced between sweet and savory. Even after it sat out for hours we brought what little was left over. It was still moist the next day. My new favorite cake place. I don't care if you like the competition. I will pay for quality and not sugar. Just have to give it to them for an awesome cake that my son loved. “My friends and I came to Funky Door for brunch yesterday to celebrate my 21st birthday and it was so good! Our server, Gavin, did a great job taking care of us and decorating the table super cute before we got there. We all shared the mimosa tower which was perfect for the five of us! Also, I recommend the bang bang shrimp and the spinach artichoke fondue, so good!“
“Love their pizza and the topping options. I can get a veggie pizza while my husband gets the meats. They are personal pizzas 10” i think but they work great for 2 people.Sometimes delivery is slow but not their fault. I would pick it up if you are close. It’s faster.“
“Cool BBQ atmosphere! Waited in line about 30 mins. Got the family meal. We had brisket, ribs, turkey, chicken and sausage. Sides collared greens, baked potato casserole, jalapeño corn. Sides were good but small portions. Meats were good. Brisket a little dry. Overall a good meal.“
